This study examined several kinematic properties of the primary articulator (the tongue dorsum) and the supplementary articulator (the jaw) in the articulation of the voiceless velar stop (/k/) within nonassimilating contexts. We examined in particular the spatiotemporal properties (constriction duration and constriction maxima) from the constriction onset to the constriction offset by analyzing a velar (/k/) followed by the coronal fricative (/s/), the coronal stop (/t/), and the labial (/p/) in across-word boundary conditions (/k#s/, /k#t/, and /k#p/). Along with these measurements, we investigated intergestural temporal coordination between C1 and C2 and the jaw articulator in relation to its coordination with the articulation of consonant sequences. The articulatory movement data was collected by means of electromagnetic midsagittal articulometry (EMMA). Four native speakers of Seoul Korean participated in the laboratory experiment. The results showed several characteristics. First, a velar (/k/) in C1 was not categorically reduced. Constriction duration and constriction degree of the velar (/k/) were similar within nonassimilating contexts (/k#s/=/k#t/=/k#p/). This might mean that spatiotemporal attributes during constriction duration were stable and consistent across different contexts, which might be subsequently associated with the nontarget status of the velar in place assimilation. Second, the gestural overlap could be represented as the order of /k#s/ (less) < /k#p/ (intermediate) < /k#t/ (more) as we measured the onset-to-onset lag (a longer lag indicated shorter gestural overlap.). This indicates a gestural overlap within nonassimilating contexts may not be constrained by any of the several constraints including the perceptual recoverability constraint (e.g., more overlap in Front-to-Back sequences compared to the reverse order (Back-to-Front) since perceptual cues in C1 can be recovered anytime during C2 articulation), the low-level speech motor constraint (e.g., more overlap in lingual-nonlingual sequences as compared to the lingual-lingual sequences), or phonological contexts effects (e.g., similarity in gestural overlap within nonassimilating contexts). As one possible account for more overlap in /k#t/ sequences as compared to /k#p/, we suspect speakers' knowledge may be receptive to extreme encroachment on C1 by the gestural overlap of the coronal in C2 since it does not obscure the perceptual cue of C1 as much as the labial in C2. Third, actual jaw position during C2 was higher in coronals (/s/, /t/) than in the labial (/p/). However, within the coronals, there was no manner-dependent jaw height difference in C2 (/s/=/t/). Vertical jaw position of C1 and C2 was seen as inter-dependent as higher jaw position in C1 was closely associated with C2. Lastly, a greater gap in jaw height was associated with longer intergestural timing (e.g., less overlap), but was confined to the cluster type (/kp/) with the lingual-nonlingual sequence. This study showed that Korean jaw articulation was independent from coordinating primary articulators in gestural overlap in some cluster types (/k#s/, /k#t/) while not in others (e.g., /k#p/). Overall, the results coherently indicate the velar stop (/k/) in C1 was robust in articulation, which may have subsequently contributed to the nontarget status of the velar (/k/) in place assimilation processes.
This study involves an experiment using functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) to delineate brain activation for execution functional performance. Participates to this experiment of the normal adult (man 4, woman 6) of 10 people, is not inserts the metal all closed phobia and 24.5 year-old average ages which the operating surgeon experience which are not they were. The subject for a functional MRI experiment word -color test prosecuting attorney subject rightly at magnetic pole presentation time of 30 first editions and after presenting, uses SPM 99 programs and the image realignment, after executing a standardization (nomalization), a difference which the signal burglar considers the timely order as lattice does, pixel each image will count there probably is, in order to examine rest and active crossroad dividing independence sample t-test (p<.05). Overlapped in this standard anatomic image and got a brain activation image from level of significance 95%. With functional MRI resultant execution function inside being relation, the prefrontal lobe, anterior cingulate gyrus, parietal lobe, orbitofrontal gyrus, temporal lobe, parietal lobe was activated. The execution function promotes a recovery major role from occupational therapy, understanding about the damage mechanism is important. When confirms the brain active area which accomplishes an execution function brain plasticity develops the cognitive therapeutic method which is effective increases usefully very, will be used.
The purpose of this study aims to analyse the key differences of the sea waybill and electronic B/L in the international transport documents. Sea waybills look remarkably like ordinary bills of lading. Indeed, in two important ways, they are just like bills of lading: the front of the document will near a description of the quantity and apparent condition of the goods; and the back of the document provides evidence of the terms of the contract of carriage. They differ from bills of lading in that, far from indicating that the goods described are deliverable to the order of the shipper or of the consignee, they will make it explicit that the goods are deliverable only to the consignee. Again, different carries will do thai in a variety of ways. For example, the document may call itself non-negotiable, omitting the word order from the consignee box on the front of the document, and stating explicitly that the goods will be deliverable to the consignee or his authorised representative on proper proof of identity and authorisation. The Hague-Visby Rules and Hamburg Rules give no guidance as to any right to instruct the carrier in respect of goods while they are in transit. However, in applying Article 50 of the Rotterdam Rules, in particular when applying it in the context of seawaybills, straight bills of lading or ship's delivery orders, regard would need to be had to preserve the shipper's rights under any of those three documents even after the buyer of goods covered by them has acquired rights of its own. And, the right of control is defined at Article 1.12 of the Rotterdam Rules. The right to give instruction is further limited by the terms of Article 50.1 to three particular types of instruction in respect of the goods, relating broadly to the goods, their delivery en route, and the identity of the consignee. And, the CMI formulated the CMI Uniform Rules for Sea Waybills for voluntary incorporation into any contract of carriage covered by such a document. Recognising that neither the Hague nor the Hague-Visby Rules are applicable to sea waybills, the CMI Rules provide that a contract of carriage covered by a waybill shall be governed by whichever international or national law, if any, would have been compulsorily applicable if the contract had in fact been covered by a bill of lading or similar document of title.
In this paper, we study a model parameter compensation method for noise-robust speech recognition. We study model parameter compensation on a sentence by sentence and no other informations are used. Parallel model combination(PMC), well known as a model parameter compensation algorithm, is implemented and used for a reference of performance comparision. We also propose a modified PMC method which tunes model parameter with an association factor that controls average variability of gaussian mixtures and variability of single gaussian mixture per state for more robust modeling. We obtain a re-estimation solution of environmental variables based on the expectation-maximization(EM) algorithm in the cepstral domain. To evaluate the performance of the model compensation methods, we perform experiments on speaker-independent isolated word recognition. Noise sources used are white gaussian and driving car noise. To get corrupted speech we added noise to clean speech at various signal-to-noise ratio(SNR). We use noise mean and variance modeled by 3 frame noise data. Experimental result of the VTS approach is superior to other methods. The scheme of the zero order VTS approach is similar to the modified PMC method in adapting mean vector only. But, the recognition rate of the Zero order VTS approach is higher than PMC and modified PMC method based on log-normal approximation.

The purpose of this study is (1) to design and test a database which can be automatically classified, and (2) to generate automatic classification number by processing the keywords in titles using the code combination method of Colon Classification(CC) as well as an automatic recognition of subjects in order to develop an automatic classification system (Auto BC System) based on CC which can be applied to any research library. To conduct this study, 1,510 words in the fields of agricultrue and medicine were selected, analized in terms of [P], [M], [E], [S], [T] employed in CC, and included in a database for classification. For the above-mentioned subject fields, the principle of an automatic classification was specified in order to generate automatic classification codes as well as to perform an automatic subject recognition of the titles included. Whenever necessary, editing, deleting, appending and reindexing of a database can be made in this automatic classification system. Appendix 1 shows the result of the automatic classification of books in the fields of agriculture and medicine. The results of the study are summarized below. 1. The classification number for the title of a book can be automatically generated by using the facet principles of Colon Classification. 2. The automatic subject recognition of a book is achieved by designing a database making use of a globe-principle, and by specifying the subject field for each word. 3. The automatic subject-recognition of input data is achieved by measuring the number of searched words by each subject field. 4. The combination of classification numbers is achieved by flowcharting of classification formular of each subject field. 5. The efficient control of classification numbers is achieved by designing control codes on the database for classification. 6. The automatic classification by means of Auto BC has been proved to be successful in the research library concentrating on a Single field. The general library may have some problem in employing this system. The automatic classification through Auto BC has the following advantages: 1. Speed of the classification process can be improve. 2. The revision or updating of classification schemes can be facilitated. 3. Multiple concepts can be expressed in a single classification code. 4. The consistency of classification can be achieved with the classification formular rather than the classifier's subjective judgement. 5. A user's retrieving process can be made after combining the classification numbers through keywords relating to the material to be searched. 6. The materials can be classified by a librarian without subject backgrounds. 7. The large body of materials can be quickly classified by means of a machine processing. 8. This automatic classification is expected to make a good contribution to design of the total system for library operations. 9. The information flow among libraries can be promoted owing to the use of the same program for the automatic classification.
Morphological analysis is the most widely used method for extracting nouns from Korean texts. For every Eojeol, in order to extract nouns from it, a morphological analyzer performs frequent dictionary lookup and applies many morphonological rules, therefore it requires many operations. Moreover, a morphological analyzer generates all the possible morphological interpretations (sequences of morphemes) of a given Eojeol, which may by unnecessary from the noun extraction`s point of view. To reduce unnecessary computation of morphological analysis from the noun extraction`s point of view, this paper proposes a method for Korean noun extraction considering noun occurrence characteristics. Noun patterns denote conditions on which nouns are included in an Eojeol or not, which are positive cues or negative cues, respectively. When using the exclusive information as the negative cues, it is possible to reduce the search space of morphological analysis by ignoring Eojeols not including nouns. Post-noun syllable sequences(PNSS) as the positive cues can simply extract nouns by checking the part of the Eojeol preceding the PNSS and can guess unknown nouns. In addition, morphonological information is used instead of many morphonological rules in order to recover the lexical form from its altered surface form. Experimental results show that the proposed method can speed up without losing accuracy compared with other systems based on morphological analysis.
Chemical plants which consume lots of energy are not operating in the best conditions due to their own peculiar nonlinearity, instability, and diverse disturbances. In order to improve this, the plant wide optimization was performed. It is important to select the most appropriate number of decision variables which strongly affect the operating cost because there are too many decision variables which economically have an effect on plant wide. For instance, if all decision variables which can economically affect are applied in optimization and then the result of the optimization is applied to operation, a lot of operating conditions should be going to be changed. As a result of changing a plenty of operating conditions, the cost of the change will absolutely increase. Thus, in this study, the method of selecting the most appropriate decision variables which can influence on saving operation costs was presented in order to optimize plant wide. TPA (Terephthalic-acid) plant is considered as a case study. In other word, after modeling, the most proper decision variables was selected by examining the degree which decision variables influence on operating costs through sensitivity analysis. In TPA process, the three decision variables were selected by the presented method in this study. Then the plant was optimized by selected the decision variables. Consequently, it was seen that the plant are expected to save the 350 million won of energy annually without additional investment for facilities or remodeling of the plant.
This paper studies the relation between canonical/variegated babble (CB/VB) and early speech in an infant acquiring Mandarin Chinese from 9 to 17 months. The infant was audio-and video-taped in her home almost every week. The data analyzed here come from 1,621 utterances extracted from 23 sessions ranging from 30 minutes to one hour, from age 00:09;07 to 01:05;27. The data was digitized, and segments from 23 sessions were transcribed in narrow IPA and coded for analysis. Babble was coded from age 00:09;07 to 01:00;00, and words were coded from 01:00;00 to 01:05;27, proto-words appeared at 11 months, and some babble was still present after 01:10;00. 3821 segments were counted in CB/VB utterances, plus the segments found in 899 word tokens. The data transcription was completed and checked by the author and was rechecked by two other researchers who majored in Chinese phonetics in order to ensure the reliability, we reached an agreement of 95.65%. Mandarin Chinese is phonetically very rich in consonants, especially affricates: it has aspirated and unaspirated stops in labial, alveolar, and velar places of articulation; affricates and fricatives in alveolar, retroflex, and palatal places; /f/; labial, alveolar, and velar nasals; a lateral;[h]; and labiovelar and palatal glides. In the child's pre-speech phonetic repertoire, 7 different consonants and 10 vowels were transcribed at 00:09;07. By 00:10;16, the number of phones was more than doubled (17 consonants, 25 vowels), but the rate of increase slowed after 11 months of age. The phones from babbling remained active throughout the child's early and subsequent speech. The rank order of the occurrence of the major class types for both CB and early speech was: stops, approximants, nasals, affricates, fricatives and lateral. As expected, unaspirated stops outnumbered aspirated stops, and front stops and nasals were more frequent than back sounds in both types of utterances. The fact that affricates outnumbered fricatives in the child's late babble indicates the pre-speech influence of the ambient language. The analysis of the data also showed that: 1) the phonetic characteristics of CB/VB and early meaningful speech are extremely similar. The similarities of CB/VB and speech prove that the two are deeply related; 2) The infant has demonstrated similar preferences for certain types of sounds in the two stages; 3) The infant's babbling was patterned at segmental level, and this regularity was similarly evident in the early speech of children. The three types being coronal plus front vowel; labial plus central and dorsal plus back vowel exhibited much overlap in the phonetic forms of CB/ VB and early speech. So the child's CB/ VB at this stage already shared the basic architecture, composition and representation of early speech. The evidence of similarity between CB/VB and early speech leaves no doubt that phones present in CB/VB are indeed precursors to early speech.

As more companies become interested in global markets, it has become crucial for firms to create globalized brands whose positioning, advertising strategy, personality, looks, and feel are consistent across nations. The purpose of this study is to investigate the global branding strategy of the Hyundai Motor Company (hereafter HMC) in order to show how the company processes its branding strategy. HMC, one of the leading global companies in the automobile industry, set up its brand identity as "Modern premium", in alignment with their new slogan "New Thinking New Possibilities", in 2011. The aim of the "Modern premium" concept was to provide consumers with new experiences and values beyond their expectations. HMC wanted their consumers to think of their cars as not only a medium of transportation but as a life space, where they can share experiences alongside HMC. In an effort to conduct consumer research in 5 different nations, HMC selected "brilliant" as a key communication concept. The word "brilliant" expresses the functional, experiential, and emotional dimensions of HMC. HMC furthermore chose "live brilliant" as a key campaign message in order to reinforce their communication concept. After this decision, the "live brilliant" campaign was exhibited through major broadcast channels around the world. The campaign was the company's first worldwide brand campaign, where a single message was applied to all major markets, with the goal of building up a consistent image as a global brand. This global branding strategy is worth examining due to its significant contribution to growth generation in the global market. Overall, the 'live brilliant' global brand campaign not only improved HMC's reputation image-wise, with the 'Modern Premium' conceptualization of the brand as 'simple', 'creative' and 'caring', but also improved the consumer's familiarity, preference and purchase intention of HMC. In fact, the "live brilliant" campaign was a successful campaign which increased HMC's brand value. Notably, HMC's brand value increased continuously and reached 9 billion US dollars in 2013, leading it to reach 43rd place in the Global Brand Rankings according to the brand consulting group Interbrand. Its brand value largely surpassed that of Nissan (65th) and Chevrolet (89th) in 2013. While it is true that the global branding strategy of HMC involved higher risks, it was highly successful according to cross-nation consumer research. Therefore, this paper concludes that the global branding strategy of HMC made a positive impact on its performance. We further suggest HMC to combine its successful marketing with social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and embrace digital media by extending its brand communication horizon to the mobile internet
