Resolution of L-Carnitine from DL-Carnitine by Resting Cells of the Enterobacter sp. NH-104

  • For the resolution of L-carnitine from DL-carnitine, resting cells of Enterobacter sp. NH-104, which had a higher capacity of D-carnitine decomposition, were harvested at maximal specific activity of D-carnitine decomposition of 47.05 unit/mg cell. The cells were frozen at $-80^{\circ}C$ to assess functions as enzyme sources. Optimal concentration of cells and DL-carnitine were 17 g/$\ell \; and \; 20 g/\ell$, respectively, and reaction buffer was best at 75 mM of Tris. HCl. Optimal temperature and pH were $36^{\circ}C$ and 8.2, respectively. When the reaction at optimal conditions was carried out for 14 h, the optical purity was 98.21 %, and the quantity and yield of remaining L-carnitine were 4.432 g/$\ell$ and 44.32%, respectively.

  • 현재 컴퓨터 응용프로그램을 개발하기 위해 많은 프로그래밍 언어가 존재한다. 사용자는 사용 목적에 따라 그에 맞는 새로운 프로그래밍 언어를 학습하고 사용한다. 그러나 프로그래밍 언어를 학습하고 사용하기 위해서는 많은 시간과 노력이 필요하기 때문에 사용자의 언어 학습의 비용과 시간을 줄이기 위해 두 언어간에 변환을 가능하게 해주는 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 어휘 분석, 구문 분석 등의 여러 단계를 거치는 방법과는 다른 토큰 매핑 테이블과 XML로 기술한 변환 규칙을 통한 새로운 언어 변환을 위한 설계 방법을 제시함으로써 재사용성과 생산성을 높일 수 있는 것으로 기대된다.

Optical Resolution of DL-Pipecolic Acid by Fermentation Using Pseudomonas sp. PA09

  • Pseudomonas sp. PA09 was isolated from farm soil and used for the optical resolution of D-pipecolic acid from DL-popecolic acid. The strain PA09 consumed L-pipecolic acid preferentially as the sole carbon and energy source, thus accumulating D-pipecolic acid in the culture broth. Optimization to improve the enantiomeric excess and yield was performed. The time course experiment showed that the strain OP09 consumed L-pipecolic acid almost to completion after 35h of cultivation, and the enantiomeric excess and the yield (% of residual D-pipecolic acid) were 99.8 and 96.0%, respectively.

  • We have studied the effect of loading amount and particle size on the rate of release of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) from ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) matrix. Release rate increased as the loading amount and particle size increase. We also studied the effect of additives (lactose and algin) on the rate of release of 5-FU. Both algin and lactose promoted the rate of release. The ability to increase the rate is in the order of algin>lactose>5-FU. Scanning electron microscope study clearly shows that large cavities and cracks are created. The results imply that, by the proper combinations of the amount of the additive, $EVA_c$ and drug, the rate of drug release can be modulated over a wide range of values.

  • 본 논문에서는 3차원 디스플레이 시스템에서 다수의 중간 시점 영상을 실시간으로 생성할 수 있도록 GPU 기반의 고속 영상 합성기법을 제안하였으며 그에 대한 성능을 알아본다. 카메라의 기하 정보 및 참조 영상들의 깊이 정보를 이용하여 중간 시점 영상을 생성하였으며, 영상 합성 방법을 GPU에서 병렬 처리함으로써 고속화할 수 있었다. GPU를 효율적으로 다루기 위해 NVIDIA사의 CUDA(Compute Unified Device Architecture)$^TM$를 이용하였다. 제안한 기법은 CUDA의 SIMD(Single Instruction MUltiple Data) 구조를 사용하여 중간 영상 합성을 처리할 수 있도록 설계하였다. 본 논문은 고속 영상 합성에 중점을 두었고, 제안한 고속화 기법의 결과를 분석함으로써 다시점 3차원 디스플레이 시스템의 적용 가능성을 알아본다.

  • 최근 사용자와 컴퓨터간의 상호작용이 가능한 사용자 인터페이스(UI, User Interface)에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이중 키보드나 마우스, 리모컨과 같은 별도의 입력장치가 없이 뇌의 활동으로부터 발생하는 생체신호를 이용하여 사용자의 생각만으로 컴퓨터와 커뮤니케이션을 할 수 있는 뇌만으로 컴퓨터와 커(BCI, Brain-Computer Interface) 시스템이 각광을 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 뇌의 생체신호로는 뇌전도도(EEG, Electroencephalogram)를 사용하였으며, 이를 통하여 P300 speller 실험을 수행하였다. P300 speller 실험을 통하여 발생된 뇌전도도를 취합하여 P300(사건 관련 전위(ERP, Event-related potential)에서 자극 제시 약 300msec 후에 정점에 달하는 정파)을 분석하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존 암호알고리즘과 호환성을 갖는 비밀키 암호알고리즘에 기반을 둔 새로운 데이터 암호알고리즘을 제안 하였다. 그러므로 정보처리에 적합한 새로운 내장형 암호 블록을 설계하고 검증하는데 Synopsys 툴로 설계하였고 40MHz의 시스템 속도환경에서 Altera MAX+PlusII 툴로 모의실험 및 검증한 결과 단일 라운드로 640Mbps의 데이터 처리율을 확인하였다. 따라서, 제안된 암호시스템에 적용할 경우 실시간 정보보안 및 정보처리에 적용할 수 있다고 사료된다.

  • This study is aimed to investigate the effects of the multi-phase(ferrite-bainite-martensite) on the strengthening and toughening in ductile cast iron. All the specimen were austenitized at eutectoid transformation temperature range(${\alpha}+{\gamma}$) for 1hr and austempered at $300^{\circ}C$ and $400^{\circ}C$ for various holding time, and then quenched in iced water for multi - phase (${\alpha}-B-M$). When the volume fraction of martensite is below 15%, excellent maximum fracture load can be obtained due to strengthening by the fine martensite, but, with increasing of volume fraction over 15%, it was decreased drastically. The martensite size became finer and the shape of it changed from bar to spherical type with increasing of austempering holding time. The higher the austenitizing temperature is, the more preferential is the formation of austenite phase around the graphite nodules improving strength and toughness of austempered ductile cast iron.

  • In this study, we report an investigation for the charging and collection of aerosol nanoparticles in an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) according to particle charging and diffusion effects. The competition between charging probability and diffusion effect determines the collection efficiency of nanoparticles in the ESP. In conclusion, collection efficiency continuously decreased with the reduction in the particle size. This indicates that poor partial charging effect of nanoparticles is more dominant than their diffusion effect in the ESP for the nanoparticles in the particle size range of 4-20 nm. Theoretical calculations using a unipolar diffusion charing theory were in good agreement with the experimental data for the nanoparticles less than 20 nm in diameter.

  • This paper described a dc power system, which can generate the excessive do power form do bus line to ac source in substation for traction system. The proposed regeneration inverter system for dc traction can be used as both an inverter and an active power filter(APF). As a regeneration inverter mode, it can recycle regenerative energy caused by decelerating tractions and as an active power filter mode, it can compensate for harmonic distortion produced by the rectifier substation.
