The reliability for each of 42-item by the sub-factors also appeared to be good, showing that internal consistency reliability by the configuration factors was 0.86, .87, .89, .87 each relatively. In addition, to verify the validity of the wisdom scale, the convergent and discriminate validities were obtained through the correlation analysis among the psychological characteristics which were considered to be related to the wisdom. Finally, practical implications of the study were discussed in depth.

  • As the life-expectancy is ever-increasing, and the proportion of the elderly population is growing steadily in every society of the world, it is ever more important to establish what factors allow certain elderly people to age successfully and remain relatively independent while others grow old less successfully and require extensive intervention. However, there is no consensus yet as to what successful aging means. Researchers have defined successful aging in a variety of ways. This study attempted to define the concept of successful aging and to clarify some dimensions of it through literature review. Previous approaches of studying successful aging and related themes were examined. Early perspectives including activity, disengagement, and continuity theories, Selective Optimization with Compensation (SOC) model by Baltes and Baltes, three different conceptions of successful aging, that is, psychological well-being, physical health, and wisdom, and MacArthur research on successful aging have been reviewed for this study. The definition derived from the review is: Keeping up continuous developmental processes to achieve wisdom or ego-integrity, without suffering any major disabilities in either physical or mental functioning, while maintaining psychological well-being and employing SOC strategies, and participating in positive relationships with significant others. The dimensions of successful aging are 1) personal resources, including physical health, cognitive competences, self esteem, and social support 2) adaptation process of SOC, and 3) psychological aspects, including psychological well-being and wisdom.

  • The wisdom contents consists of an ordinary person's ideas and experience. The Wisdom Market [1] is an online business model where wisdom contents are traded. Thus, the general public could do business activities in the Wisdom Market at ease. As the wisdom contents are themselves the thought of persons, there exists many similar or duplicated contents. Existing copyright protection schemes mainly focus on the primary author's right. Thus, it's not appropriate for protecting the contents of Collective Intelligence that requires to protect the rights of collaborators. There should exist a new method to be dynamic capable of combining and deleting rights of select collaborators. In this study, we propose collective copyright authentication scheme suitable for the contents of Collective Intelligence. The proposed scheme consists of collective copyright registration, addition and verification protocols. It could be applied to various business models that require to combine multiple rights of similar contents or to represent multiple authorships on the same contents.

Data were collected from 480 elderly subjects in Daegu, Kyungpook Province, and Busan, Kyungnam Province from August, 2008 to February, 2009. Results: From the results of the factor analysis for 27 items, 3 factors were extracted. These factors were labeled as 'empathic emotion', 'self-reflection', and 'bitter experience of life'. Cronbach's Alpha for the 27 items was .921 and correlation coefficient of ego-integrity was .69.
