  • I argue that the so-called psychological predicates like komapta ′thankful,′ mwusepta ′fearful,′ silhta ′loathsome,′ or kulipta ′missing′require a nominative subject and a locative or dative complement, challenging the claim, a conventional wisdom originated from Kuno(1973), that they are two-place "transitive adjectives" requiring a nominative direct object, I also show that those adjectives are subject to having the locative-dative complement extracted, which is ultimately realized as a focused subject or a topic. Thus, in this type of double nominative constructions, the first nominative is a focused subject, and the second nominative forms an embedded clause with the psychological predicate, which functions as the predicate of the whole sentence.

  • The person mental get accomplished unconsciousness and consciousness. The wisdom is smoothly thinking activity. If the ascent and descent operation of 'HEART mental faculties (心神) - KIDNEY essence of life (腎精) is normal, mental action is clearness. The wrong mental action come out two direction. The one is the agony as a result of the prosperous appear on the Heart Fire(心火). The other is the non-mind as a result of the prosperous appear on the Kindey Water(腎水). If we keep on the maintenance of the condition on WATER & FIRE complement each other (水火昇降) by the mental concentration training method, we can conquest for the agony and non-mind.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the meaning and nature of the lived experience of women with severe dysmenorrhea. Methods: Hermeneutic phenomenology by van Mannen and feminist philosophy informed this study involving 20 women who were 10~40 years old. Data was collected by using focus group interview 2 times from 10 women and in-depth interview from other 10 women from September to December, 2010. Results: The essential themes were message from body, deconstruction of negative stereotyped body, and authorship of my body. Participants described their own painful experiences. They recognized that psychological stress impacted on severe dysmenorrhea, so they made self caring time. They had positive attitude to menstruation, said that dysmenorrhea was not illness, but normal life process. They had internal strength, wisdom, and sistership. Conclusion: This study revealed meaning of pain experience in sociocultural context. This finding have implications for health care provider's empathic and holistic practice.

  • The main aim this paper is to investigate the "Bayt al-Hikma" ("The House of Wisdom"), an important medieval centre for translation and science. In this paper, the author attempts to define the establishment, tasks and development of this institution and its place in medieval civilization. In addition, considerable attention is given to the scientific activity of the Central Asian scholars in Baghdad, who migrated there when caliph al-Ma'mun shifted his court from Marw to Baghdad in 819 CE. The paper describes "Bayt al-Hikma" as an important institution for translation and science and describes some of the Central Asian scholars' activities in Baghdad. Despite its brevity, this short overview shows that these scholars had an important influence on the development of medieval sciences.

  • This study was designed to investigate the nature and magnitude of disability among non-institutionalized elderly in urban area(Seoul city). From November 1987, through December 1987, 1,054 individuals aged over 65 years from the sampled of clustered random sampling method were interviewed in person. The physical disability findings support the well known relationship between physical disability and age. The magnitude of disability, however, is not as great as conventional wisdom might suggest. And this paper reports results on the prevalence of social disability : housekeeping transportation, food prepatation, grocery shopping, social interaction, intellectual activity, and social role. The magnitude of social disability increase with advancing age. Women, in general, report a higher degree of social disability than man. These findings are compared with other investigations of physical and social disability among the elderly.

  • Cellulase is the key enzyme in the use of cellulose-based biomaterials. Because of its structure, cellulose is difficult to be degraded by enzymes. In order to utilize cellulose-based biomaterials efficiently, evolutionary wisdom of how to use enzymes accurately and harmoniously in a biological system is needed, such as the cellulose digestive system in animals. In this study, the symbiotic bacteria from snails, Achatina fulica, were identified and their cellulase activity was evaluated. The 16S rRNA sequence analysis of 100 aerobic bacteria showed that they belonged to 9 genus and almost half of the bacteria were Lactococcus spp. Among 100 identified strains, only two Aeromonas sp. strains showed cellulase activity. Aeromonas sp. KMBS020 had both endo-${\beta}$-glucanase and ${\beta}$-glucosidase activities but Aeromonas sp. KMBS018 had ${\beta}$-glucosidase activity only. None of the 100 bacterial colonies had any cellobiohydrolase activity.

  • Rett syndrome (RS) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by loss of cognitive, motor, and social skills, epilepsy, autistic behavior, abnormal airway patterns, gastroesophageal reflux, nutritional problems, and severe scoliosis. Although girls with RS show normal or near-normal growth until 6-8 months, they lose their skills after that. The anesthetic management of these patients requires care because of all these clinical features. Especially in the postoperative period, prolonged apnea is common and extubation is delayed. In this case report, the effect of using sugammadex was presented in a 16-year-old girl with RS. The patient's all bimaxillary teeth and 4 wisdom teeth were extracted under general anesthesia in one session with minimal surgical trauma and moderate bleeding. Sugammadex can be a rapid and reliable agent for the reversal of the neuromuscular block in neurodegenerative patients.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the meaning of‘housework’. In order to understand the intrinsic meaning of housework, we have to distinguish between ‘individual meaning’and‘institutional meaning’. The former is related to the concern, intent, habit, need, desire, and motivation of the given individual, while the latter is related to the social value, norm, and convention of human behavior. The majority of the studies on housework have been made by focusing on individual meaning. As the individual meaning of housework has gradually been emphasized, it has been forgotten that‘housework’itself is a very important part of‘home life’, and then the importance of home life has gradually diminished. Housework is naturally carried out in the process of human history, and housework reflect total human wisdom. In other words, it is thought that it is possible to grasp the total meaning of life in housework. Our life can be richer than now by increasing the quantity of philosophical analysis of the phenomena related to housework.

  • The extraction of third molars is a common task carried out at dental/surgery clinics. Postoperative pain is one of the two most common complications of this surgery, along with dry socket. Knowledge of the frequent risk factors of this complication is useful in determining high-risk patients, planning treatment, and preparing the patients mentally. Since the risk factors for postoperative pain have never been summarized before while the risk factors for dry socket have been highly debated, this report summarizes the literature regarding the common predictors of postextraction pain. Except for surgical difficulty and the surgeon's experience, the influences of other risk factors (age, gender and oral contraceptive use) were rather inconclusive. The case of a female gender or oral contraceptive effect might mainly be associated with estrogen levels (when it comes to dry socket), which can differ considerably from case to case. Improvement in and unification of statistical and diagnostic methods seem necessary. In addition, each risk factor was actually a combination of various independent variables, which should instead be targeted in more comprehensive studies.
