Analysis and Test of CBTC Wireless Communication System in KyungSan test Line (II) (경산시험선 CBTC 시스템용 무선통신시스템 시험(2))

  • Korean-Automated Guideway Transit (K-AGT) was successfully developed through Light Rail System Development Project. Since then, the domestic development rate of on-board signalling system of light rail has been improved up to 90% by Practical Utilization Project of Light Rail. After utilization project, furthermore, POSCO ICT has developed the wayside signalling system of CBTC, including wireless communication equipment. KRRI carried out the performance test of the wireless communication, interfacing and using the other CBTC equipments of KyungSan Test Line so as to see whether it conforms IEEE 802.11x, international communication standard in view of operational concept of CBTC. In this paper, we presents analysis results of roaming test while train runs.

  • EMU, Electrical Multiple Unit, stores various information in the computer system installed on the vehicle when train is running. The stored information has to be moved into a computer installed on the ground. The information is used to all kinds of planning concerned EMU, and taken advantage of maintenance with information importantly. IC memory card is used to move the information from vehicle to the ground at present. But this method has many weaknesses from hours and manpower aspect because it spends much time shifting data. So this paper proposes a method to move data as quickly and correctly as possible. We propose the method to collect the information using wireless LAN automatically in this paper. And we carried out data-transfer-test on the real field using wireless LAN to confirm possibility of this method. This paper shows the result of the data-transfer-test.

  • CBTC(Communication-Based Train Control) system which is based on wireless communication can provide high density operation of the train using location tracking between ground and onboard train. It can also reduces maintenance expense because it does not require the ground equipment for tracking circuit and signal flag and so on. Recently, research and interest have been done on CBTC system. The high-speed trains up to 300km/h experience multi-path fading channel which bring about the performance degradation of wireless CBTC system. In this paper, we consider MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) antenna-based CBTC system for trains with Alamoutip-type space-time diversity transmission for reliable communication. Also we model a channel considering practical environment and evaluate performance improvement of proposed CBTC system.

  • In this paper, We studied optimum service model of passenger car monitoring system at limited wireless bandwidth subway and railway. High bandwidth is better if we need more services. But, high bandwidth requires more cost at tunnel of subway. More bandwidth make receive sensitivity to bad. We deduced best bandwidth of subway wireless transmission system reflecting the cost of installation and efficiency of system. Consequently, we decide efficient service model of passenger car monitoring system.

  • Wireless LAN technology is complementary to 3G systems and could be used to provide high bandwidth hotspot coverage, for example in railway stations and offices, in order to provide the high bandwidth video and broadband services such as those emerging on DSL fixed access. The IST Projects BRAIN and MIND have investigated a number of key technical enablers for such a system beyond 3G. These include scenarios and business models, design of an all-IP access network, consideration of ad hoc network extensions, enhancing Wireless LAN efficiency and compatibility with IP and, finally, terminal middleware and signalling for rapid adaptations to network QoS changes.

  • Wireless telecommunication frequency band becomes wider with the development of modern telecommunication technology, and highly integrated semiconductors are applied more at high speed tain system. RFI susceptibilities of the integrated power semiconductors in high speed train system influence much on the system safety. RFI susceptibility standards and measurement methods in high speed train system at wireless telecommunication frequency band is surveyed in this research.

  • We did the blooth module test as a pre-test of wireless sensor monitoring system, which for the improving of on-condition maintenance reliability, on the train. In this test, we examined the communication environment of wireless sensor monitoring system by the acceleration date and frequency date in the real train structure during the operation. Also based on this results, we did the experimental verification of the sensor power system which use piezoelectric energy conversion technology by the theoretical modeling for the applying on the train on-condition maintenance.

  • This paper presents the system of analyzing data in memory of TCMS. This system can show physical data in memory to text and graphic : format. To transfer data from TCMS to this system, a large number of system have used to memory IC card. the method of using memory IC card as a intermediation has many points at issue, that is a speed of transmitting data, life time of IC card and identity of train system each other. So this paper proposes that the method of wireless LAM be adopted by this system to improve the week point of previous method and other method to better the method of wireless LAN.

  • In this paper, with the background features on which measuring the transverse left-right and up -down vibration of wheel, bogie and body by wireless measurement system, performance evaluation systems which can assess the running behavior of high speed trains based on UIC code 518-OR and evaluate the ride comfort of them based on ISO code 2631 and UIC code 513 were developed. The characteristics of dynamic vibration are generally analyzed by an acceleration of a car body of high speed train and the acceleration can be applied to evaluation of running safety. In this paper, also matching system of distance from tachometer and vibration from accelerometer was programmed in development software, and the SD card embedded system which prevent to loss of data in wireless measurement was mounted on this system. Finally the software perform to analysis with filtering and statistical post-process in the unit sections and zones and focus on developing the capability monitoring in the main control center. For the verification of this system, the running behavior and safety factor were analyzed based on field measured data of the Cheonjun-gunnum-sun turn out point in the new KTX railway.
