  • In this study, to establish a web-based bridge monitoring system with wireless sensor network environment, we constructed microminiaturized sensor based wireless communication techniques and micro processing, databases for data combination and administration, variable control programs and processors for transferring data by internet. Then those data are measured and analyzed by the constructed bridge monitoring system with wireless sensors. To evaluate the practicability of the bridge monitoring system with wireless sensor, we compared the values measured in the tests with wire sensor under same conditions. The results show that the trend of the data obtained from the monitoring systems with wire sensors and wireless sensors was very similar but the some lost data in the communication process with wireless sensor network environment. And through laboratory and field tests, the effectiveness and the applicability of the proposed methods were verified.

  • In this paper, we maximize the lifetime of a multi-hop path through a cooperative wireless energy sharing scheme between constituent nodes in a wireless multi-hop communication. Considering a bidirectional multi-hop communication environment, we present an optimization problem to maximize path lifetime by adjusting the amount of energy each node needs to share with its neighboring nodes. On the basis of solidarity property, i.e., the lifetime of the multi-hop path is maximized when the lifetimes of all nodes are the same, we convert the considered optimization problem into a linear programming problem and solve it easily. Simulation result shows that the proposed two-way wireless energy sharing method maximizes the path lifetime of multi-hop communications and approximately doubles the path lifetime compared with the one-way energy sharing method.

  • In this experiment, we developed a ubiquitous computing platform that can analyze vibration and noise in wireless environment by wireless LAN and sensors. In order to utilize the COTS(Commercial Off The Shell) concept, we used a PDA that supports wireless LAN and serial communication as a main board. Following platform is used to measure the noise level of heavy construction equipments in a remote area.

  • Channel characteristic-based physical layer authentication is one potential identity authentication scheme in wireless communication, such as used in a fog computing environment. While existing channel characteristic-based physical layer authentication schemes may be efficient when deployed in the conventional wireless network environment, they may be less efficient and practical for the industrial wireless communication environment due to the varying requirements. We observe that this is a topic that is understudied, and therefore in this paper, we review the constructions and performance of several commonly used test statistics and analyze their performance in typical industrial wireless networks using simulation experiments. The findings from the simulations show a number of limitations in existing channel characteristic-based physical layer authentication schemes. Therefore, we believe that it is a good idea to combine machine learning and multiple test statistics for identity authentication in future industrial wireless network deployment. Four machine learning methods prove that the scheme significantly improves the authentication accuracy and solves the challenge of choosing a threshold.

  • An operating information and fault recode of train is very important information for safety driving and maintenance. And these information is increased and need high speed as the number of trains is increased. Wireless LAN or CDMA network is efficient to report more complicated and various information from vehicle to server in control center. Existing wireless transmission system has weakness due to transmission system is separated with TDCS and standalone. At first, standalone system needs space to be installed and cost is increased. And data transmission capacity and speed is limited by complicated structure that transmission system receive data thru serial communication like RS232 and then data transmission system send data to server in control center. This article is study to develop embedded & wireless fault code transmission device to be installed in TDCS to overcome weakness of space and to have more cost effective and simple structure. It is adapted 802.11b/g WiFi for wireless communication and OS is used embedded Linux that can easily implement wireless communication environment and ensure TCP/IP communication’s security. We also implement simple server to test wireless communication between embedded & wireless fault code transmission device and server in control center.

  • This study is to provide high-quality mobile communication service to subscribers and wireless communication users in a Mobile communication environment. It is about a method to secure the quality of a call by early processing a faulty radio station. The purpose of this study is to design and implement a direction detection system suitable for a mobile communication environment and portable as a method for early detection and resolution of interference and illegal wireless stations occurring in 5G mobile communication. The basic configuration of a portable direction detection system was designed, and a method was proposed to find and repair a faulty wireless station in a short time through manufacturing and experimentation.

  • In this paper presents the WCDMA(Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) system using the rake receiver over multipath fading and wireless mobile communication environments. The interference between the propagation paths in a multipath fading causes a serious degradation in the wireless mobile communication environments. In order to derive the path interference and reduce the fading effect the rake receiver is used. As a result, the WCDMA system using the rake receiver gives a better performance than the convention WCDMA system over a multipath fading and wireless mobile communication environments.

  • Wireless sensor network technology is a rapidly growing technology of ubiquitous computing environment and application and research are being carried out in various fields. The sensor nodes constituting the wireless sensor network maintain the life cycle by using the battery in the distributed network environment, so energy efficiency is more important than QoS requirement. In MAC protocol of IEEE802.15.4, MAC protocol study adaptive to traffic and standardization work emphasizing reliability and efficiency in wireless sensor network environment are underway. but, Wireless sensor networks have the problem that the response speed of the sensor node drops as the energy efficiency decreases. In this paper, we designed the MAC protocol with improved energy efficiency of the whole network by analyzing the MAC protocol of the synchronous method and the hybrid method.

  • It has used buoy for efficient domestic farm operations and fishermen fish. Buoy uses IoT-based communication to transmit water temperature, salinity, humidity, wind speed, etc. to fishers in real time. In this paper, we utilize LoRa, which enables communication in the marine environment, to construct a network and apply it to an actual buoy for monitoring. The implemented LoRa uses the 900MHz band to configure the network. The sensor consisted of a sensor that can monitor the atmospheric environment and a sensor that can monitor the marine environment. In addition, the information received in real time will be provided to the fishing village host. The fishermen were fully aware of this and took appropriate measures to conduct sea trials.

  • The analysis of ocean environment offers us essential information for ocean exploration. But ocean environment has a lot of environmental variables such as the movements of nodes by an ocean current, corrosion by salt water, attenuation of radio wave, occurrences of multi-path and difficulty of sensor nodes' deployment. It is accordingly difficult and complex to gather and process the environmental information through ocean data communication due to these constraints of ocean environment unlike the terrestrial wireless networks. To overcome these problems, we organized ocean communication network for monitoring underwater environment by real experiment in Gyeongpoho similar to ocean environment. Therefore, this paper aims at overcoming major obstacles in ocean environment, effectively deploying sensor nodes for ocean environment monitoring and defining an efficient structure suitable for communication environment by the implementation of ocean environment monitoring system in Gyeongpoho.
