견인전동기의 복합가속열화 상태진단에 의한 고장예측 및 신뢰성 평가 (Fault Prediction & Reliability Estimation of the Traction Motor by the Complex Accelerating Degradation and Condition Diagnosis)

  • In this paper, stator form-winding sample coils based on silicone resin and polyimide were made for fault prediction and reliability estimation on the 200 Class insulation system of traction motors. The complex accelerative degradation was performed by periods during 10 cycles, which was composed of thermal stress, fast rising surge voltage, vibration, water immersion and overvoltage applying. After aging of 10 cycles, condition diagnosis test such as insulation resistance & polarization index, capacitance & dielectric loss and partial discharge properties were investigated in the temperature range of 20∼160$^{\circ}C$. Relationship among condition diagnosis test was analyzed to find an dominative degradation factor and an insulation state at end-life point.

  • This paper deals with an electromagnetic analysis and control parameter estimation of a moving-coil linear oscillatory actuator (MCLOA). Analytical solutions for electromagnetic characteristics of the MCLOA are obtained from transfer relations derived in terms of a magnetic vector potential and two-dimensional (2-d) rectangular coordinate systems. And then, on the basis of 2-d analytical solutions, control parameters such as the thrust constant, the back-emf constant and winding inductances are estimated. Finally, analytical results for both electromagnetic characteristics and control parameters of the MCLOA are validated extensively by finite element (FE) analyses. In particular, test results such as static thrust, resistance and inductance measurements are given to confirm the analyses.

전투차량용 전기식 연료펌프의 고장분석 및 내열성능 평가 (Failure Analysis and Heat-resistant Evaluation of Electric Fuel Pump for Combat Vehicle)

  • 전투차량의 연료탱크에 설치되어 엔진으로 연료를 이송하는 장치인 전기식 연료펌프에 대하여 고장분석과 내열성능 평가가 수행되었다. 고장의 원인을 파악하기 위하여 직류 전동기가 적용된 연료펌프를 분해하여 검사를 수행하였다. 하우징 내부를 관찰한 결과를 바탕으로 고장 현상을 권선 소손, 브러시 조기 마모, 연료 혼입의 세 가지로 분류하였다. 연료펌프 내부 검사를 실시한 결과를 바탕으로, 과열에 의한 권선 소손을 고장을 발생시킨 주된 원인으로 추정하였다. 이에 따라서 전기식 연료펌프의 권선이 과열로 소손될 가능성을 확인하기 위하여 온도 센서를 고정자 표면과 브러시 홀더에 설치한 후 무부하 조건으로 24시간동안 가동을 실시하였다. 연료펌프의 주변 온도를 68 ℃로 설정하였을 때 고정자 온도는 최대 135.9 ℃까지 상승하였으며, 전동기의 고정자 및 회전자 권선이 소손되었다. 이 결과를 통해서 전기식 연료펌프를 위한 전동기 권선의 내열성능이 부족함을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이를 해결하기 위하여 현재 155 ℃ 이하에서 사용할 수 있는 절연등급 F종의 권선 및 함침액을 180 ℃ 이상에서도 사용할 수 있는 C종 이상의 절연등급으로 대체하도록 제안하였다.

수적층 및 필라멘트 와인딩을 이용한 GFRP튜브로 구속된 콘크리트의 압축 거동 (Stress-strain Relations of Concrete Confined with Tubes Having Varying GFRP Layers)

  • 콘크리트충전 유리섬유 복합소재 튜브는 좋은 내구성과 심한 부식환경에서 견딜 수 있는 높은 화학적인 저항성으로 인해서 해양구조물에서 종종 사용된다. 이 연구는 원형 콘크리트충전 유리섬유 복합소재 튜브에 대한 다양한 실험을 수행하고 결과를 분석한다. 유리섬유 직포 수적층, 필라멘트 와인딩 적층을 압축을 받는 관의 바깥 튜브로 사용하는 경우에 고려해야 하는 몇 가지 측면을 실험 분석한다. 이 연구의 목적은 다음과 같다: (1) 유리섬유 층의 필라멘트 와인딩 각도의 효율성 검증 (2) GFRP 적층수가 강도 및 최고 변형률에 미치는 영향 평가 (3) 단부 재하조건이 구속효과 및 파괴양상에 미치는 영향 파악, 그리고 (4) 구속 상태에서 콘크리트의 응력-변형률 거동을 모사하는 해석적인 모델 제시이다. 세 가지 서로 다른 종류의 섬유 구성이 사용되었다: 직포층, ${\pm}45^{\circ}$ 필라멘트 와인딩 층, 그리고 ${\pm}85^{\circ}$ 필라멘트 와인딩 층. 각 층은 독립적으로 혹은 복합적으로 함께 사용되었다. 시편의 비 및 지름이 서로 다른 경우도 실험하였다. 총 27개의 GFRP 튜브 시편을 이용해서 인장 실험을 수행하였고, 66개의 콘크리트충전 GFRP튜브 시편을 이용해서 압축 실험을 수행하고 결과를 분석하였다. 구속상태의 콘크리트 응력-변형률 거동을 모사하는 해석적인 모델 및 영향계수를 제시하였다.

상용변압기와 결합된 초전도체 및 상전도체 한류기의 고장전류 및 보호기기 동작특성 (Characteristics of the Fault Current and the Protection for Superconducting and Normal Conducting Limiter combined with a Transformer)

  • With increasing demand of power, the equipment of power system is enlarging and the absolute capacity is going up. As a result, when a fault occurs, the fault current is consistently increasing. Therefore, I suggested some solution for limiting the fault current more efficiently. This study shows the characteristics of superconducting limiting elements and normal conducting elements combined with a transformer. We performed a short-circuit test about the fault current by using SCR switching control system operated from a CT. When short circuit accidents happened in the secondary side of a transformer, fault currents flowed and a SCR switching control system was operated. It resulted in a decrease of the fault current in the limited elements of third winding connected in parallel. For this test, we used YBCO thin films and normal conducting elements as the limited elements. Within a cycle, a superconducting fault current limiter with YBCO thin films reduced more than 90% of fault current because the resistance of superconducting elements sustainedly grew. On the other hand, the limiter with normal conductors limited as much as a set value because its resistance characteristic was linear. Consequently, in case of the limiter with superconductor, limiting range of the circuit was wide but the range of protective detection was undefined. In contrast, as for the limiter with normal conductors, limiting range and protection duty were appropriate.

현무암 재봉사의 연속식 테프론 코팅 공정 (Continuous PTFE Coating Process on Basalt Sewing Thread)

  • 내화성 및 내화학성이 우수한 현무암사의 표면에 회분식 방법에 의한 테프론 코팅 연구의 결과를 토대로 연속식 코팅 공정 인자를 도출하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 현무암사를 7,5 wt% 트리에톡시트리플루오로실란(TMTFPS)으로 연속적으로 전처리 한 후, 침투제로 0.25 wt% bis(2-ethylhexyl)sulfo succinate (DOS-Na)가 함유된 20 wt% 테프론 수분산액으로 딥 코팅한 후 2 m의 $120^{\circ}C$ 건조 챔버에서 12 m/mim의 속도로 건조한 후 2 m의 $380^{\circ}C$ 소성 챔버에서 40초간 소성하여 최종 $3.4g_f/D$의 인장 강도와 $2.3g_f/D$의 루프강도를 가지는 테프론이 코팅된 고내열 재봉사용 현무암사를 제조하였다.

알루미늄 고분자 콘덴서의 특성에 대한 절연지 탄화의 영향 (Effects of Separator Carbonization on the Characteristics of Aluminium Polymer Condenser)

  • 전도성 고분자인 polyethylenedioxythiophene (PEDOT)을 권취형 알루미늄 콘덴서의 고체 전해질 및 음극으로 적용하기 위하여 PEDOT 중합공정 및 절연지 탄화공정 연구를 수행하였다. 단량체로 ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT), 산화제로 ferric-p-toluenesulfonate를 사용하였다. 권취된 미세 다공성 알루미늄 에칭박 피트 내부에 균일한 PEDOT 전해질 층을 생성하기 위하여 콘덴서 소자를 열처리하여 탄화함으로써 절연지의 섬유조직을 조절하고 이를 통해 중합액의 절연지 집중현상을 억제하여 에칭 피트 내부로의 중합액 함침이 용이하도록 하였다. 탄화온도, 탄화시간에 따라 콘덴서의 용량, 손실, 등가직렬저항, 내열특성이 좌우되었다. 절연지의 두께, 밀도는 탄화공정의 중요한 변수이며 이들 변수에 따라 콘덴서의 특성이 영향을 받는 것을 확인하였다.

Analysis on electrical and thermal characteristics of MI-SS racetrack coil under conduction cooling and external magnetic field

  • This paper presents the analysis and experiment results on the electrical and thermal characteristics of metal insulation (MI) REBCO racetrack coil, which was wound with stainless steel (SS) tape between turn-to-turn layers, under rotating magnetic field and conduction cooling system. Although the field windings of superconducting rotating machine are designed to operate on a direct current, they may be subjected to external magnetic field due to the unsynchronized armature windings during electrical or mechanical load fluctuations. The field windings show the voltage and magnetic field fluctuations and the critical current reduction when they are exposed to an external magnetic field. Moreover, the cryogenic cooling conditions are also identified as the factors that affect the electrical and thermal characteristics of the HTS coil because the characteristic resistance changes according to the cryogenic cooling conditions. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the effect of external magnetic field on the electrical and thermal characteristics of MI-SS racetrack coil for further development reliable HTS field windings of superconducting rotating machine. First, the major components of the experiment test (i.e., HTS racetrack coil construction, armature winding of 75 kW class induction motor, and conduction cooling system) were fabricated and assembled. Then, the MI racetrack coil was performed under liquid nitrogen bath and conduction cooling conditions to estimate the key parameters (i.e., critical current, time constant, and characteristic resistance) for the test coil in the steady state operation. Further, the test coil was charged to the target value under conduction cooling of 35 K then exposed to the rotating magnetic field, which was generated by three phrase armature windings of 75 kW class induction motor, to investigate the electrical and thermal characteristics during the transient state.

수-윤활용 플라스틱 베어링 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Water-lubricated Plastic Bearings)

  • This paper presents the fabrication process of water-lubricated plastic bearings. Plastic bearings require good mechanical properties and tribological properties as well as elasticity and shock resistance, especially when lubricated in dirty water conditions. In this study, sleeve-type plastic bearings are produced by winding a prepreg sheet, which primary contains nitrile rubber (NBR)-modified epoxy, self-lubricating fillers, and various types of lattice-structured reinforcing fibers such as carbon, Aramid, and polyethylene terephthalate. A thermosetting epoxy is chemically modified with NBR to impart elasticity and low-friction characteristics in water conditions. Experimental investigations are conducted to examine the mechanical and tribological characteristics of the developed bearing materials, and the results are compared with the characteristics of a commercial plastic bearing (Thordon SXL), well known as a water-lubricated bearing. A Thordon bearing (mainly composed of polyurethane) exhibits an extremely low load-bearing capacity and is thus only suitable for medium loading (1~10MPa). The tribological characteristics of the test materials are evaluated through Falex block-on-ring (LFW-1) friction and wear tests. The results indicate that friction exhibited by the carbon-fiber-reinforced NBR-10wt.%-modified epoxy composite material, incorporated with the addition of 20wt.% UHMWPE and 6wt.% paraffin wax, is lower than that of the Thorden bearings, whereas its wear resistance surpass that of Thorden ones. Because of these features, the load carrying capacity of the fabricated composite (>10MPa) is higher than that of the Thorden bearings. These results confirm the applicability of water-lubricated plastic bearing materials developed in this study.

Interrupting characteristics of the transformer superconducting fault current limiter

  • This paper analyzed the fault current limiting characteristics of the previously proposed transformer superconducting fault current limiter (TSFCL) interruption system according to its transformer type. The TSFCL interruption system is an interruption technology that combines a TSFCL, which uses a transformer and a superconductor, and a mechanical DC circuit breaker. This technology first limits the fault current using the inductance of the transformer winding and the quench characteristics of the superconductor. The limited fault current is then interrupted by a mechanical DC circuit breaker. The magnitude of the limited fault current can be controlled by the quench resistance of the superconductor in the TSFCL and the turns ratio of the transformer. When the fault current is controlled using a superconductor, additional costs are incurred due to the cooling vessel and the length of the superconductor. When the fault current is controlled using step-up and step-down transformers, however, it is possible to control the fault current more economically than using the superconductor. The TSFCL interruption system was designed using PSCAD/EMTDC-based analysis software, and the fault current limiting characteristics according to the type of the transformer were analyzed. The turns ratios of the step-up and step-down transformers were set to 1:2 and 2:1. The results were compared with those of a transformer with a 1:1 turns ratio.
