  • Direct motor-driven winding has been increasingly applied in winding machinery. However, it is necessary to analyze the kinematics of winding prior to developing the winding control algorithm, because direct motor-driven winding machine should be operated in accordance with the pre-determined kinematic information for the winding control. This paper presents the kinematics of the degressive winding method and its kinematic winding control algorithm in order to wind the required volume of a pirn package in a desired shape. The proposed algorithm can give the appropriate yarn speed, traverse speed, and the spin speed of the spindle at every traverse stroke, which are utilized for controlling the spindle motor and traverse motor of the winding machine. Computer winding simulations showed that the proposed algorithm is successful in the degressive pirn winding.

유기 전압비를 이용한 3권선 변압기 보호계전 알고리즘 (A Three-Winding Transformer Protective Relaying Algorithm Based on the Induced Voltages)

  • This paper proposes a three-winding transformer protective relaying algorithm based on the ratio of the induced voltages (RIV). The RIV of the two windings is the same as the turn ratio for all operating conditions except an internal fault. For a single phase and a three-phase transformer containing the wye-connected windings, the induced voltages of the windings are estimated. For a three-phase transformer containing the delta-connected windings, the induced voltage differences are estimated using the line currents, because the winding currents are practically unavailable. The algorithm can identify the faulted phase and winding if a fault occurs on one phase of a winding. The test results clearly show that the algorithm successfully discriminates internal winding faults from magnetic inrush. The algorithm not only does not require hysteresis data but also can reduce the operating time of a relay.

  • Alternate pirn winding is more difficult to control than others because starting points of its traverse strokes are changed alternately through the winding operations. However, the alternate pirn winding is ye useful method because the yarn can be hardly broken when it is unwinded from full packaged bobbin. This paper presents kinematic control algorithm for the alternate pirn. The proposed algorithm can decide the values of control variables such as bobbin speed and traverse speed from the given input parameters and constraints by using the kinematic relations of the winding mechanism. The compute simulations and experimental verifications of the developed winding control algorithm are carried out It is concluded that the proposed algorithm is an efficient and reliable alternative to traditional trial and error control methods.

  • This paper proposes a heuristic scheduling algorithm to satisfy the customer's due date in the production process under make to order environment. The goal is to achieve the machine scheduling in the transformer winding process, in which consists of parallel machines with different machine performances. The winding is important production process in the transformer manufacturing company. The efficiency of the winding machines is different according to the voltage capacity and the winding type. This paper introduces a heuristic approach in the transformer winding process where the objective function is to minimize the total tardiness of jobs over due dates. The numerical experiment is illustrated to evaluate the performance.

3권선 CCVT의 2차 전압 보상 방법 (Compensation of the Secondary Voltage of a Three Winding Coupling Capacitor Voltage Transformer)

  • Coupling capacitor voltage transformers(CCVTs) have been used in extra or ultra high voltage systems to obtain the standard low voltage signal for protection and measurement. For fast suppression of the phenomenon of ferroresonance, three winding CCVTs are used instead of two winding CCVTs. A tuning reactor is connected between a capacitor voltage divider and a voltage transformer to reduce the phase angle difference between the primary and secondary voltages in the steady state. Slight distortion of the secondary voltage is generated when no fault occurs. However, when a fault occurs, the secondary voltage of the CCVT has significant errors due to the transient components such as dc offset component and/or high frequency components resulting from the fault. This paper proposes an algorithm for compensating the secondary voltage of a three winding CCVT in the time domain. With the values of the measured secondary voltage of the three winding CCVT, the secondary, tertiary and primary currents and voltages are estimated; then the voltages across the capacitor and the tuning reactor are calculated and then added to the measured voltage. Test results indicate that the algorithm can successfully compensate the distorted secondary voltage of the three winding CCVT irrespective of the fault distance, the fault impedance and the fault inception angle as well as in the steady state.

  • A coupling capacitor voltage transformer (CCVT) is used in an extra high voltage power system to obtain the standard low voltage signal for protection and measurement. To suppress the effects of ferro-resonance more effectively, a three winding CCVT is used. This paper proposes an algorithm for compensating the secondary voltage of the three winding CCVT. With the secondary voltage of the three winding CCVT, the secondary and tertiary currents are obtained; the primary winding current is obtained by considering non-linear characteristics of the core; the voltage across the capacitor and the inductor are calculated and then added to the measured voltage to compensate the secondary voltage. Test results indicate that the algorithm can reduce the errors of the three winding CCVT significantly.

  • To enhance the performance of superconducting motor, the flux which links the stator windings needs to be increased as much as possible. In this paper we redistributed the field winding to increase the flux-linkage. This paper introduces an algorithm that modifies the rotor winding shape to increase the flux-linkage to stator winding, satisfying both the constant superconductor volume and HTS tape characteristic (I$_{c}$-B curve) constraints. To check the validness of the proposed algorithm, it was applied to the 100 Hp HTS motor model, and about 21 % increase of flux-linkage was confirmed depending on the initial winding shape.e.

  • In a roll-to-roll continuous system, winding is one of the most important processes since it determines the quality of the final manufactured products such as flexible film and printed electronic devices. Since an adequate winding tension can reduce the incidence of the defects that are derived from the inner stress of the wound roll such as starring and telescoping, it is necessary to determine the optimal taper-tension profile. In this study, an algorithm for the setting of an optimal taper-tension profile in consideration of the residual stress in the wound roll is suggested; furthermore, the algorithm was adjusted for the determination of an optimal taper-tension profile regarding the winding process of $10{\mu}m$ polypropylene (PP) film. As a result of the algorithm-generated, optimal taper-tension profile, the residual stress and radial stress in a PP wound roll were decreased to 27.37 % and 40.05 % (mean value), respectively.

퍼지-PID 알고리즘을 이용한 필라멘트 와인딩 장력제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on Filament Winding Tension Control using a fuzzy-PID Algorithm)

  • This thesis develops a fuzzy-PID control algorithm for control the filament winding tension. It is developed by applying classical PID control technique to a fuzzy logic controller. It is composed of a fuzzy-PI controller and a fuzzy-D controller. The fuzzy-PI controller uses error and integrated error as inputs, and the fuzzy-D controller uses derivative of error as input. The fuzzy-PI controller uses Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy inference system, and the fuzzy-D controller uses Mamdani fuzzy inference system. The fuzzy rule base for the fuzzy-PI controller is designed using 19 rules, and the fuzzy rule base for the fuzzy-D controller is designed using 5 rules. A test-bed is set-up for verifying the effectiveness of the developing control algorithm in control the filament winding tension. It is composed of a mandrel, a carriage, a force sensor, a driving roller, nip rollers, a creel, and a real-time control system. Nip rollers apply a vertical force to a filament, and the driving roller drives it. The real-time control system is developed by using MATLAB/xPC Target. First, experiments for showing the inherent problems of an open-loop control scheme in a filament winding are performed. Then, experiments for showing the robustness of the developing fuzzy-PID control algorithm are performed under various working conditions occurring in a filament winding such as mandrel rotating speed change, carriage traversing, spool radius change, and reference input change.

  • This paper proposes a tree-winding transformer protective relaying algorithm based on the ratio of increment of flux linkages (RIFL). The RIFL of the two windings is equal to the turns ratio for all operating conditions except an internal faults. For a single-phase transformer and three-phase transformer containing the wye-connected windings, the increments of flux linkages are calculated. for a three-phase transformer containing the delta-connected windings, the difference of the increments of flux linkages between the two phases are calculated using the line currents, because the winding currents are practically unavailable. Their ratios are compared with the turns ratio. The results of various tests show that the algorithm successfully discriminates internal faults from normal operation conditions such as magnetic inrush, overexcitation and external faults. The algorithm can not only detect internal winding faults, but reduce the operating time of a relay.
