  • 본고에서는 여러가지 Wide Band-gap중에서 특히 최근에 많은 관심을 끌고 있는 GaN와 4H-SiC, 6H0SiC의 전자기적 물성을 소개하고 현재 이들로부터 제작된 prototype소자들의 성능을 비교함으로써 그 발전현황을 알아보기로 한다. 본고에서 관심을 두는 소자분야는 광전소자(optoelectronic devices)라기보다는 고주파 고출력용 전력소자임을 밝힌다. 아울러 GaN로부터 제작된 MESFET(MEtal Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor)소자의 고주파 대역에서의 Large-Signal특성을 Device/Circuit Model을 통하여 실험치와 비교하여보고 이로부터 최적화된 channel 구조를 갖는 소자구조에서의 RF특성을 조사한다.

Fatigue Damage Estimation of Wide Band Spectrum Considering Various Artificial Neural Networks (다양한 인공 신경망을 적용한 광대역 스펙트럼의 피로손상 예측)

  • The fatigue damage caused by wide band loadings has generally been predicted using fatigue damage models in the frequency domain rather than a rain-flow counting method in the time domain because of its computation cost. This study showed that these fatigue damage models can be simplified in the form of normalized fatigue damage as a function of the S-N curve slope and bandwidth parameters. Based on numerical simulations of various wide band spectra, it was found that fatigue damage models in the form of normalized fatigue damage with one S-N curve slope and two bandwidth parameters( α1 , α2 ) provided less reasonable fatigue damage. Therefore, an additional bandwidth parameter needs to be considered based on a sensitivity study using various neural networks, which proved that α1-5 would be the dominant factor of a fatigue damage model as an additional bandwidth parameter.

  • A design method of an electromagnetic wave absorber with ferrite fins in the second layer, which has very wide band frequency characteristics, is proposed and discussed. A theoretical model using the equivalent material constants method is adopted, assessed for its accuracy by comparision with the Hashin-Shtrikman formulas and compared with the conventional absorbers. Based on the model, a wide band electromagnetic wave absorber with excellent reflectivity frequency characteristics in frequency range of 30MHZ to 3530MHZ has been designed.

A Simple Model Parameter Extraction Methodology for an On-Chip Spiral Inductor

  • In this letter, a simple model parameter extraction methodology for an on-chip spiral inductor is proposed based on a wide-band inductor model that incorporates parallel inductance and resistance to model skin and proximity effects, and capacitance to model the decrease in series resistance above the frequency near the peak quality factor. The wide-band inductor model does not require any frequency dependent elements, and model parameters can be extracted directly from the measured data with some curve fitting. The validity of the proposed model and parameter extraction methodology are verified with various size inductors fabricated using $0.18\;{\mu}m$ CMOS technology.

  • Methods to predict fatigue crack growth are compared in a quantitative manner for crack growth test data of 2024-T351 aluminum alloy under narrow and wide band random loading. In order to account for the effect of load ratio, crack closure model, Hater's equation and NASGRO's equation have been employed. Load interaction effect under random loading has been considered by crack closure model, Willenborg's model and Wheeler's model. The prediction method using the measured crack opening results provides the best result among the prediction methods discussed for narrow and wide band random loading data.

  • In this paper, we analyze the preamble model for Wireless PAN(WPAN) in proposed Ultra WideBand(UWB) Multi-Band OFDM(MB-OFDM) system of IEEE 802.15.3a standard. Besides, we propose effective Carrier Frequency Offset and Symbol Timing Offset Estimation algorithm which offers enhanced performance, and analyze its performance using Detection Probability, False Alarm Probability, Missing Probability, Mean Acquisition Time and MSE(Mean Square Error) through simulation in AWGN and UWB channel environments.

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of RAKE receiver for impulse radio-ultra wide band (IR-UWB) systems in indoor multipath radio channel. Pulse position modulation-time hopping (PPM-TH) signal is considered. And we also consider three types of RAKE receivers, which are ideal RAKE, selective RAKE, and partial RAKE receivers. The indoor channel is modeled as the modified Saleh and Valenzuela (SV) model which has been proposed as a UWB channel model by the IEEE group, IEEE 802.15.SG3a.

  • 튜브 내의 입구영역에서 난류 유동에 의한 대류와 비회복사(non-gray radiation)가 동시에 일어날 때의 열전달특성을 수치해석적으로 연구하였다. 작동유체는 이산화탄소, 수증기, 질소의 혼합가스라고 가정하였다. 지배방정식을 계산하기 위해 유한차분법이 이용되었고, 복사전달방정식을 이차편미분방정식으로 바꾸기 위해 P-1 근사법이 사용되었다. 그리고 혼합가스의 비회흡수계수(non-gray absorption coefficient)는 지수광폭밴드모형(exponential wide band model)을 이용해서 구하였다. 열전달특성에 대한 온도조건의 영향을 조사하기 위해 튜브의 축방향에 대한 평균 온도와 뉴셀트수(Nusselt number)의 변화를 몇 가지 다른 온도조건에 대해 나타내었다. 또한, 가스의 성분조성에 대한 영향을 조사하였으며, 이러한 결과에 기초해서 튜브 내에서 난류유동에 의한 대류와 비화복사가 동시에 일어날 때의 복사 뉴셀트수를 쉽게 예측할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다.

  • This paper presents a linear amplitude equalizer developed to secure the linearity of the slope of the amplitude over the frequency band ranging $2\sim18\;GHz$. The circuit model is featured by the resistor placed between each pair of a transmission-line and a stub. The design includes finding the values of resistors and stubs to have the optimal linear slope and return loss performances. The measured data show the acceptable performances of the slope variation and return loss over $2\sim18\;GHz$.
