다구찌 방법을 이용한 휠 베어링 유니트의 형상설계 (Design of a Wheel Bearing Unit Using Taguchi Method)

  • An automotive wheel bearing is one of the most important components to guarantee the service life of a passenger car. The endurance life of a bearing is affected by many parameters such as material properties, heat treatment, lubrication conditions, operating temperature, loading conditions, bearing geometry, the internal clearance of bearing and so on. In this paper, we analyze the relation between loads and deformations of wheel bearing units for optimal bearing unit design. On the basis of it, we calculate the endurance life of w heel bearing units and analyze the contribution of bearing geometric parameters on the endurance life by using Taguchi method.

Research on Landing Impact Characteristic Of Multi-Wheel Bogie Landing gear's Truck

  • Taking the four-wheel bogie landing gear as an example, the force status of truck-like landing gear during the landing impact was analyzed and the simulation model of four-wheel bogie landing gear was established. Firstly, a landing gear prototyping model was established using CATIA and imported to LMS Virtual.lab. Secondly, dynamic analysis of the landing impact was simulated with the established model. Finally, with the help of LMS Virtual.lab's parametric design ability, the effects of landing approach and truck pitch angle on the landing performance, truck motion and truck beam strength were studied. These conclusions will be useful to the design and analysis of the truck.

Design and experiment of fuzzy PID yaw rate controller for an electrically driven four wheel vehicle without steering mechanism

  • Design and experimental results of yaw rate controller is described for electricallydriven four wheel vehicle without steering mechanism. Yaw rate controller has been known to be necessary to cope with nonlinear char-acteristics of the wheel/road conditions with respect to different road condition and steering angle. For an effective yaw rate control, a fuzzy PID gain scheduler is considered with changing control parameters. In order to apply proposed algorithm to the system a downsized four wheel drive electrically driven vehicle without steering mechanism was manufactured. With these techniques the proposed yaw rate controller is shown by experiment results to be obtained suficient performance in the whole steering regions.

  • This paper presents the novel design, implementation and control of a single-wheel mobile robot that can balance by using air power from ducted fans. All of the motions of the single-wheel mobile robot are actuated by air power instead of motor torques. Using air power allows to reduce the total weight of the robot. The complementary sensor fusion algorithm is introduced to estimate the angle correctly. After several design and development, the robot is tested for balancing in the roll direction and yawing motion. In addition, the balancing control of the robot on a single rope is tested to evaluate the control performance.

  • This paper presents the design of in-wheel type Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) which can be used as both traction motor and power pickup device in a wireless charging system of electric vehicles. The SRM acts as a traction drive in driving mode and a power receiver in charging mode to avoid any additional weights. Double stator axial field SRM is used due to its structure that can be mounted inside the wheel. The charging circuit is integrated with the asymmetric converter and phase windings of SRM, reducing the cost and size of the system. Magnetic resonance is implemented to increase the efficiency. Simulations done in Maxwell and Simplorer verify the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • An analysis of handling performance including the compliance effects is performed. Using the primitive design data of suspension systems, a kinematic model and the three kinds of compliance models are developed. The wheel alignments curves are obtained with the multibody dynamic analysis program ADAMS. The compliance effects of each model are discussed. Since the proposed analysis only requires the raw design data, the better prediction of wheel behaviors is possible in suspension design stage.

  • This paper describes a design process of end-milling cutters: solid model of the designed cutter is constructed along with computation of cutter geometry, and the wheel geometry as well as wheel positioning data fur fabricating end-mills with required cutter geometry is calculated. In the process, the main idea is to use the cutting simulation method by which the machined shape of an end-milling cutter is obtained via Boolean operation between a given grinding wheel and a cylindrical workpiece (raw stock). Major design parameters of a cutter such as rake angle, inner radius can be verified by interrogating the section profile of its solid model. We studied relations between various dimensional parameters and proposed an iterative approach to obtain the required geometry of a grinding wheel and the CL data fer machining an end-milling cutter satisfying the design parameters. This research has been implemented on a commercial CAD system by use of the API function programming, and is currently used by a tool maker in Korea. It can eliminate producing a physical prototype during the design stage, and it can be used fur virtual cutting test and analysis as well.

TRIZ/CAE를 활용한 철도차량 윤축용 캡의 창의적 설계 (Creative Design of Cap for Wheel and Axle of Railway Vehicle by Using TRIZ/CAE)

  • 철도차량의 안전성을 위해 사용되는 윤축은 차량 전체 중량의 16%를 차지하는 요소로서, 철도차량의 경량화에 있어 필수적으로 연구되는 대상이다. 본 연구는 기존 윤축의 중량을 요구강도에 만족시킴과 경량화를 목적으로 창의적 문제해결이론인 TRIZ의 6SC를 적용하여 중공구조의 윤축 내부에 사용될 수 있는 캡을 설계하였고, 설계에 대한 검증을 위해 해석 툴인 ANSYS를 활용하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 캡의 재질은 SM45C이며 중공구조이다. 또한, 윤축에 요구되는 강도를 만족하기 위해 중공 윤축의 베어링 시트 부 내부에 위치한다. 본 연구를 통해 설계 및 해석된 캡을 삽입한 윤축은 전동차의 윤축에 요구되는 기준을 만족하였으며 무게는 중실축과 비교하였을 때, 약 6.75%를 감소시켰다. 윤축 강도에 대한 평가 기준은 EN13103 및 EN13104의 규격을 적용하였다. 또한, 캡을 장착한 윤축의 최대응력 및 중량에 대해 기존의 중실축, 중공축과 비교함으로써 설계에 대한 효과를 검증하였다.

연속 철근콘크리트 슬래브 교량의 윤하중 분포폭에 관한 연구 (Wheel Load Distribution of Continous Reinforced Concrete Slab Bridge)

  • 현행 AASHTO 및 AASHTO LRFD 설계기준에는 차선하중에 대한 윤하중분포폭을 차륜하중에 적용되는 윤하중분포폭의 2배를 적용하도록 규정하고 있다. 이에 반해 국내 도로교 표준시방서에는 차선하중에 대한 윤하중분포폭의 규정은 없는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 연속 철근콘크리트 슬래브 교량에 대한 윤하중분포폭에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 연속슬래브 교량의 윤하중분포폭에 영향을 미치는 인자들로는 지간길이, 교량폭, 단부보 및 지점조건이 있다. 이들 각 인자들에 대한 유한 요소 모델의 구성 및 해석을 통하여 연속 철근콘크리트 슬래브 교량의 합리적인 윤하중분포폭의 식을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 윤하중분포폭의 식은 현행 도로교 표준시방서에 제시되어 있지 않은 철근콘크리트 연속 슬래브 교량의 보다 정확한 설계 및 합리적인 내하력 산정시 매우 효율적으로 사용될 것으로 사료된다.

케이지 휠을 이용한 습답 로터리 작업의 부하 특성 (Load Characteristics of Rotary Operation Using a Cage Wheel in Wet Paddy Fields)

  • The torque loads acting on the input shaft of the transmission and final driving shaft of the tractor having a cage wheel attached to the driving tries as a traction aid were measured during the rotavating operations in a poorly drained paddy field. Using the measured load data load spectra were constructed. Effects of the design parameters of the cage wheel on the load characteristics were also analyzed. The torque load exerted on the input shaft decreased as the diameter of the cage wheel increased and increased as the rotavator speed increased. The torque load exerted on the final driving shaft increased as the working speed of the tractor increased and decreased as the rotavator speed increased. The torque load on the final driving shaft with the cage wheel were greater than those without the cage wheel.
