세라믹 재료의 연삭 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Grinding Characteristics of Ceramics)

  • In this study, experiments were carried out to investigate the characteristics of grinding and wear process of diamond wheel far ceramic materials. Normal component of grinding resistance of $Al_2$O$_3$ was less then that of $Si_3 N_4$ and $ZrO_2$. This seems to be the characteristics of ceramic tools on work pieces both of high hardness. For the case of $Si_3 N_4$ and $ZrO_2$, as the mesh number of wheel increases, the surface roughness decreases. For the case of $Al_2 O_3$, the surface roughness does not decreases. Specific binding energy decreases as the material removal rate per unit time increases. For the case of $Si_3 N_4$ and $ZrO_2$, grinding is carried out by abrasive wear processes. For the case of $Al_2 O_3$, grinding is carried out by grain shedding process due to brittle fracture.

  • 1960년도부터 컨테이너를 사용한 해상 물동량이 급격히 증가되어 부두에서 처리하여야할 컨테이너 양이 많이 증가되었다. 부두의 운용효율을 증가시키기 위하여 야드 크레인의 정확히 위치 검출이 상당히 중요한 과제이다. 본 논문에서는 엔코더 출력펄스와 적외선센서를 사용하여 정확하고 신속하게 크레인의 절대위치를 측정하는 기법을 제시하였다. 갠추리 바퀴에 직결된 엔코더 펄스를 카운팅하여 갠추리의 이동거리를 측정한 후, 바퀴의 슬립 통에 인하여 발생하는 측정오차를 보상하기 위하여 적외선센서를 사용하였다. 실제 크레인의 1/10 축소한 시뮬레이터로 실험을 수행하여 본 논문에서 제시한 기법의 타당성을 확인하였다.

Evaluating the Performance of Four Selections in Genetic Algorithms-Based Multispectral Pixel Clustering

  • This paper compares the four selections of performance used in the application of genetic algorithms (GAs) to automatically optimize multispectral pixel cluster for unsupervised classification from KOMPSAT-3 data, since the selection among three main types of operators including crossover and mutation is the driving force to determine the overall operations in the clustering GAs. Experimental results demonstrate that the tournament selection obtains a better performance than the other selections, especially for both the number of generation and the convergence rate. However, it is computationally more expensive than the elitism selection with the slowest convergence rate in the comparison, which has less probability of getting optimum cluster centers than the other selections. Both the ranked-based selection and the proportional roulette wheel selection show similar performance in the average Euclidean distance using the pixel clustering, even the ranked-based is computationally much more expensive than the proportional roulette. With respect to finding global optimum, the tournament selection has higher potential to reach the global optimum prior to the ranked-based selection which spends a lot of computational time in fitness smoothing. The tournament selection-based clustering GA is used to successfully classify the KOMPSAT-3 multispectral data achieving the sufficient the matic accuracy assessment (namely, the achieved Kappa coefficient value of 0.923).

On effects of rail fastener failure on vehicle/track interactions

  • Rail support failure is inevitably subjected to track geometric deformations. Due to the randomness and evolvements of track irregularities, it is naturally a hard work to grasp the trajectories of dynamic responses of railway systems. This work studies the influence of rail fastener failure on dynamic behaviours of wheel/rail interactions and the railway tracks by jointly considering the effects of track random irregularities. The failure of rail fastener is simulated by setting the stiffness and damping of rail fasteners to be zeroes in the compiled vehicle-track coupled model. While track random irregularities will be transformed from the PSD functions using a developed probabilistic method. The novelty of this work lays on providing a method to completely reveal the possible responses of railway systems under jointly excitation of track random irregularities and rail support failure. The numerical results show that rail fastener failure has a great influence on both the wheel/rail interactions and the track vibrations if the number of rail fastener failure is over three. Besides, the full views of time-dependent amplitudes and probabilities of dynamic indices can be clearly presented against different failing status.

  • This paper deals with the kinematic and dynamic modeling of a 3 degree-of-freedom redundantly actuated mobile robot for the purpose of analysis and control. Each wheel is driven by two motors for steering and driving. Therefore, the system becomes force-redundant since the number of input variable is greater than the number of output variable. The kinematic and dynamic models in terms of three independent joint variables are derived. Also, a load distribution method to determine the input loads is introduced. Finally we demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed algorithms through simulation.

종류별 이륜차 프레임에 대한 구조해석 (Structural Analysis for Bicycle Frame by Type)

  • This study aims to analyze durability by comparing displacement on vibration at driving bicycle frame models of 1, 2, 3 and 4. Among maximum equivalent stresses at 4 kinds of models, model 1 has highest value with 410.39 MPa and becomes 30 times than model 4 with lowest value. The natural frequency number at Model 4 increases more than the other models. Among four models, the number of frequency at model 1 becomes lowest at harmonic vibration with real loading condition. In cases of four kinds of models, the maximum stress is shown near the assembly of rear wheel and the maximum displacement is shown near saddle assembly at this harmonic condition. The structural result about this study can be effectively utilized on the design of bicycle frame by investigating durability and prevention against its damage.

고속열차의 객실 소음에 미치는 머드플랩의 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Mud-flap on the Cabin Noise in KTX)

  • In the early stage of operation of KTX, passengers complained of the excessive cabin noise as the passes the tunnel. The noise is caused partly by wheel-rail contact and partly by airflow around the carbody. In this study, to reduce the cabin noise, the effect of the mud-flaps located between the cars is investigated. A series of tests was conducted to clarify the influences of the type and length of mud-flap, and train speed on the cabin noise. The optimum length of mud-flap was found. The shedding vortices around the mud-flap is thought to be the cause of the aerodynamic noise. Strouhal number and the resonant shedding frequency around the mud-flap correlated well with the cabin noise level.

운전 중 IVIS 조작 상황에서 Motor Cue와 과제의 난이도가 과제 전환과 운전 주행에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Motor Cues and Secondary Task Complexity on Driving Performance and Task Switching While Driving)

  • 최근 자동차와 IT기술의 융합으로 차량 내 인포테인먼트 시스템이 운전자에게 편의 및 오락 기능을 제공하며 역할이 중요해지고 있다. 하지만 운전과 인포테인먼트 시스템을 조작하는 것은 동시에 시각 리소스를 요구하는 과제로 과제를 전환하며 수행해야 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 운전 중 인포테인먼트 시스템 조작 상황에서 조작 과제의 난이도와 motor cue가 과제 전환과 운전 주행능력에 미치는 영향과 함께, motor cue의 효과가 조작 과제의 난이도 수준에 따라 차이가 있는지 보고자 하였다. motor cue와 조작 과제 난이도의 효과를 살펴보기 위해 반복되는 숫자가 청크 단위와 일치하는지에 따라 두 종류의 번호를 사용하였으며, 터치 키의 크기로 난이도 수준을 조절했다. 실험에서 참가자들은 모의 주행을 하며 스크린에 번호를 입력하도록 지시받았고, 과제 수행 중 번호 입력시간, 차선 유지능력, 숫자 키 입력 시간 간격과 핸들 움직임을 측정했다. 그 결과, 난이도 수준에 따라 운전 주행 능력과[F(1, 26) = 8.521, p < .001], 번호 입력 시간의 차이가 유의미했고[F(1, 26) = 35.372, p < .0001], 번호 종류에 따른 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 하지만 Incongruent 번호 입력 시, 청크로 구분된 두 숫자를 입력하는 시간의 간격과 핸들 움직임이 크게 증가하였다. 이는 반복된 숫자가 청크로 구분되어도 청크를 무시하고 한 번에 입력하였음을 나타낸다. 종합하면, 다중 과제 상황에서 청크 단위는 motor cue에 의해 상쇄되며 과제 전환 시점을 결정하는 데에 motor cue의 효과가 있음을 시사한다.

반복하중(反復荷重)을 받는 흙의 역학적(力學的) 특성(特性) (Mechanical Properties of Soil under Repeated Load)

  • 도로(道路)의 노반(路盤)에 교통하중(交通荷重)이 반복해서 가해질 경우 흙 구조물의 설계기준을 얻기 위해 현장시험이 행해지고 있으나, 본 연구는 지금까지 잘 알려지지 않은 흙의 동력학적(動力學的) 성질(性質), 특히 반복응력(反復應力)을 받을 때의 성질을 규명한 것으로 유변학적(流變學的) 모델 해석에 의해 흙의 항복응력(降伏應力) 탄성계수(彈性係數)를 구하고 이에 대한 반복응력재하의 영향에 대해서 고찰(考察)한 것이다. 항복응력(降伏應力)은 재하횟수가 많을 수록 경화(硬化) 효과(效果)가 현저하므로 그 값이 크고, 어느 재하횟수에 달하면 한계치에 접근한다. 또한 탄성계수(彈性係數)는 반복응력이 작은 경우에는 재하횟수가 많을수록 현저하게 증가하고, 반복응력이 커지면 반대로 감소한다.

웜기어의 강도평가 및 설계시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Durability Estimation and Design Systems of Worm Gears)

  • We developed the durability estimation and design systems to minimize the volume, considering the durability, efficiency, and design requirements of worm gears. That is, we consider each kind of factors affecting on durability on the basis of AGMA Standard for the cylindrical and double-enveloping worm gears. We also estimate input power on the basis of wear and durability, bending strength and deflection of worm shaft, and we developed the durability estimation and design systems of power transmission worm gears introducing the optimal design method on the personal computer to be easily used in field. Also, we developed a method which converts the design variables obtained from the optimal design method to integer values(number of worm threads, number of worm threads, number of worm wheel teeth, etc.,) to be used in real design and production. The developed durability estimation and design method can be easily applied to the design of worm gears used as power transmission devices in machineries and is expected to be used for weight minimization of worm gear unit.
