The rail surface defects which are generated on repeated rolling contact fatigue are getting increased according to high speed, high density, and minimum weight. In addition, Increasing noise and vibration are affected by these also impact load generated as well. Because of this phenomenon, more serious and critical damages were occurred. In fact, in order to control them, the rail grinding amount in Korea. This study evaluated how depth of hardening on rail surface is formed and suggested optimal rail grinding amount by RCF(rolling contact fatigue) test with generated contact pressure between KTX wheel and UIC60 rail by applying FEM analysis. Therefore, the amount was generated approximately 0.2mm/20MGT to maintain integrity of rail surface by getting rid of depth of hardening on rail according to rail accumulated passing tonnage.
The Light Rail Transit (LRT) System which has medium transport capacity between subway and bus(5,000-25,000 persons per hour) is the most advanced transportation system. It has many benefits, cheap construction, operational costs through driverless and flexible route planning. Also, the rubber tired AGT (K-AGT) of various LRT has a rubber wheels and side guide. The side guide type has an many advantages. but occur a vibration and friction noise through contact between guide rail and wheel. Most of point that decreased comport is vibration thorough the guide contact. In this paper, It is purpose to improve the maximum running speed of rubber tired AGT localization bogie which is currently developed from 70km/h to 80km/h. To satisfy comport index of railway vehicle that is required in performance test. we examined coefficient of bogie suspension which is designed.

LRT(Light Rail Transit System) is devided into steel-wheel train, LIM and rubber tired AGT(Automated Guide-way Transit System) The main features of LRT are low construction cost, low space, low noise, Environment-friendly, fastly, low maintenance cost. it's a civil transit transfer system of new generation became popular advanced nation. In this study, the beginning designed manufactureing rubber tired AGT turnout and guide-way system for the field application. We hope reliability for the system shall home production of turnout and guide-way
Concrete track on the new railway lines of the existing roads are built on high ground, or less than 400m radius of the sharp curve sectors will occur. sharp curve sectors the rail and wheel friction, stick-slip due to the band of 1,000Hz or squeal noise occurs from the increase in civil complaints about noise is a real situation. In this study, discussed in previous studies, noise measurements for each radius of concrete track and frequency analysis, followed by the radius of the curve in order to investigate vibration characteristics of urban railway sector sharp curve radius less than 400m and 400m ~ 1,000 m further to the point selected track components(rails, sleepers, ballast) according to the vibration measurements and analysis of the frequency characteristics and the results were derived.

This paper presents recent development of (semi)-active steering bogies for railway vehicles and introduce the state-of-art of related technologies. Steering bogies have been studied in various researchers since they can offer high ride quality for passengers and reduce the maintenance costs of wheel and rail wear. Especially, they are considered to be a fundamental solution to dramatically reduce the squeal noise on tight curves. However, passive steering bogies such as self-steering bogies and forced steering bogies have shown their limits to cope with the various running conditions. Therefore, (Semi)-active steering bogies have been studied to overcome the drawbacks of the passive steering bogies. As a result, an active steering bogie, so called mechatronic bogie, is developed successfully in Europe and it has shown remarkable performance in test line.

This paper deals with the measurement and analysis of the squeal noise according to the curvature of rail. The squeal noise is generated by the friction between the railway with curve and the wheel. The squeal noise is a big problem in Busan Metro Line 3. If the developing panel type ANC(Active Noise Control) system which is attached to the floor can reduce 5 dB in below 500 Hz, the sound pressure level of the whole band pass can be reduced about 4-4.8 dB in squeal noise above the curvature of R400. Curve squeal noise is the intense high frequency tonal that can occur when a railway vehicle transverses a curve. The frequency range is from around 500 to almost 20,000 Hz, with noise levels up to about 15 dB in curve.

A bogie is the device that connects a car body and wheel sets of a rail vehicle. It is the critical component that determine:; the running safety, The bogie consists of a frame, suspensions, brakes and wheel sets. Various analyses including a numerical simulation using a finite element method, a static load test, a fatigue test, ai)d r running test should be carried out to design the bogie. However cracks have been found at some end beams of the bogies mounted on the freight cars running with the high speed. The cracks of the end beam results in deterioration of the brake performance an the running safety, A new design has been suggested to solve this problem by ROTEM company and it's performance has been tested in this paper. Numerical simulations and dynamic tests are carried out to figure out the causes of cracks in the conventional bogie, and the vibrational characteristics of the improved bogie are compared with those of the conventional one.

The DMT freight is judged that economic performance is good because can increase cargoes than existing freight. However, the existing freight cars, each with a different balance to the body structure is bogie because the vibrations may occur. Thus, by minimizing vibration over the existing freight securing the safety of the driving if you will not have major problems in cargoes. In this study, multi-body dynamic analysis tool, VI-Rail using the actually Gyeongbu Railroad line and an empty, full freight condition include curve radius, track irregularity, The DMT freight of the derailed wagons were assessed for safety analysis. Full and empty freight conditions for parity in the Gyeongbu Railroad line(Dongdaegoo${\leftrightarrow}$Kyungsan) derailment safety analysis, such as derailment coefficient and the wheel unloaded, echoing the curve and the orbit is affected by the irregularity was found. Full freight condition than the empty conditions showed a significant derailment safety. Overall, the limits of derailment coefficient(Q/P = 0.8) and wheel unload decrement limits(${\triangle}P/P$ = 0.6) is less safe with me confirmed that the derailment safety.
Recently, the number of passengers using urban railway has been increased by reasons of the reductions of car use due to high fuel prices and the enlightenment about the environment. Above all, the noise and the vibration coming from the friction between the wheel and the rail of trains in operation which is not only a factor that hinders riding comforts but causes civil complaints. Furthermore, the noise has become social issues from tightening the relevant regulations by the government since January 2010. Although ballasted tracks were constructed on urban railways at the time of opening, they have been changed into slab tracks because slab tracks require much less maintenance. However, in view of sound absorptivity of track, slab tracks have 10 times less capability than ballasted tracks(ballasted track : 0.5~0.6/slab tracks : 0.06) results more noise than that of ballasted tracks as much as 3dB(A) since slab tracks emit more reflection noise. Therefore, in order to minimize reflection noise on slab tracks, noise abatement system has been developed as a national R&D program to apply on-site test. It is assumed that the construction technology developed in this study can be used not only as basic data for the on-site test for the noise reduction in urban railway but as an efficient construction method.
Curved squeal noise may result when railway vehicles run on curved tracks. Contact between the wheels and the rails causes a stick-slip phenomenon, which generates squeal noise. In order to identify the mechanism of the squeal noise systematically, a scaled test rig has been fabricated. Knowledge of the contact forces between the wheels and the rail rollers is essential for investigating the squeal noise characteristics; however, it is difficult to measure there contact force. In this study, contact forces have been calculated indirectly according to the modal behavior of the subframe that supports the rail roller and the responses at specific positions of that subframe. In order to verify the estimated contact forces, the displacements at the contact points between the wheels and rail rollers have been calculated from the estimated forces; the resulting values have been compared with the measured displacement values. The SPL at the specific location has been calculated using the estimated contact forces and this also has been compared with the SPL, measured in a semi-anechoic chamber. The comparisons in displacements and SPLs show good correlation.
