선박의 항주자세와 저항성분에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Hull Attitude and Resistance Components of a Ship)

  • A Series 60, $C_b=0.60$ model was tested in the towing tank of Seoul National University. Total resistance, hull attitude, wake distributions and wave measured at FR condition(free trim and sinkage) and FX condition(fixed trim and sinkage). From the measured data, residual, viscous and wave pattern resistance components were evaluated and compared. It is found that the changes in wetted surface area should be considered in predictions of frictional resistances, and can be easily found from hydrostatic data and measured mean sinkages without additional tests. Applications of the concept to the geosim tests of Series 60, Wigley, Lucy Ashton models show that the conventional extrapolation method can be improved considerably.

각종증착금속면의 응축열전달에 관한 연구 (A Study on Condensation Heat Transfer to Some Evaporated Metal Surface)

  • Condensation heat transfer can be classified in dropwise condensation and filmwise condensation, and for the industrial purpose, the former is more useful than the latter because of the higher heat transfer rate. But it is difficult to maintain the dropwise condensation continuously since most of the metal surfaces become wetted after exposure to a condensing vapor over an extended period of time. To maintain dropwise condensation continuously , various surface coatings and promoters have been used recently, but these methods must be reconsidered about the durability of condensing surface. Therefore, in this study, evaporating method of various pure metals on the condensing surface has been performed to maintain dropwise condensation. The results have showed that the heat transfer rate of silver evaporating surface is higher than any other metal evaporating in dropwise area. Transition temperature and filmwise condensation curves are uniform regardless of kinds of evaporating metals.

  • 거친 해역에서 내항성능이 우수한 선형을 만들기 위해서는 무엇보다도 수선면적을 작게 하여 파랑하중을 적게 받도록 하는 것이 가장 이상적인 방법으로 알려져 있다. 그러나 과대한 수선면적의 감소는 침수표면적 대 배수량비가 증가하여 속도 측면에서 불리한 점을 가지게 된다. 본 논문에서는 일반 소수선면 쌍동선(SWATH Ship)보다는 수선면적을 키워서 속도와 내항성능면을 동시에 고려한 새로운 선형을 제시하고자 한다. 여객 350명, 항해거리 300 n. miles, 해상상태 4에서 운항속도 30노트로 쾌적하게 항주할 수 있는 선형을 설계하였으며 모형시험으로 검증하였다. 본 논문은 개발선형의 저항성능, 내항성능, 설계개념에 대해서 언급하고 다른 고속선형들과의 간접적인 성능 비교를 하였다.

이중 연료 엔진용 이중벽 가스 배관 이종 용접부의 매크로 및 마이크로 전기화학적 특성 (Macro and Micro-electrochemical Characteristics on Dissimilar Welding Metal of Double Wall Gas Pipe for Duel Fuel Engine)

  • This study compared the macro and micro electrochemical characteristics at the local area of welding metal on dissimilar welding parts for type 304 stainless steel (SS) and type 316L SS. The materials are used for double wall gas pipe of duel fuel engine for a ship. The various potentiodynamic experiments were performed several times in 10% ${H_2C_2O_2}{\cdot}{H_2O}$ solution using macro and micro methods, respectively. The micro electrochemical experiments conducted to resolve at local area on cross-section of dissimilar welding materials by micro-droplet cell device. The micro-droplet cell techniques can be used almost electrochemical experiments to resolve corrosion characteristics of the limited electrode area of the metallic surface between wetted spot of working electrode and tip of sharpened capillary tube. The results of macro electrochemical experiments show that resistance of active dissolution reaction at welding zone was high due to low current density by formation of passivation protection film at passive region. According to the micro electrochemical experiment, the corrosion current density of welding zone and bond zone were relatively high.

모래자갈과 누수성 토질을 기반으로하는 용수로의 누수방지에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Leakage Interception Work in the Irrigation Canal Founding on the Sandy Gravel or the Porous Soil)

  • The experiment was carried out in order to improve the leakage stopping work in the irrigation canal founding on the porous soil. But the experiment had many problems to be studied more owing to the insufficient time and facilities. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. Polyethylene film is estimated not to make strength decrease owing to buring in the subsoil, but to make owing to the sunlight. 2. Coated nylon shows the tendency to deteriorate strength when it is buried in the earth or exposed to the sun for long time, but leakage is all but impermeability generally. 3. Leakage loss rates for one hour show some differences in the canal to be full with water in accordance with operating methods, that is, the clay lining section is 12.6%, the coated nylon lining section is 1.7%, the polyethylene film lining section is 1.3%, respectively. 4. Leakage quantities per wetted perimeter unit area show $3.556cc/cm^2/hr$. in the clay lining section, $1.574cc/cm^2/hr$. in the coated nylon section, $0.695cc/cm^2/hr$. in the polyethylene film lining section, respectively. 5. When the construction fund make the clay lining section as a standard, the polyethylene film section is 92.1%, the coated nylon section is 174.2%, respectively. But, the unit cost of execution may be low when the polyethylene film and the coated nylon will enable to mass-produce for the purpose of execution.

선저 스텝개수에 따른 고속 활주형선의 저항특성 비교 (Comparisons of Resistance Characteristics of the High-speed Planing Craft with Respect to the Number of Bottom Steps)

  • 활주형선은 고속 운항시 선저에 동적압력을 발생시켜 선체를 부상시킴으로서 저항이 감소하게 되어 고속의 항주가 가능하게 된다. 일반적으로 선저에 스텝을 적용한 선형은 일체형 활주형선에 비하여 고속 주행시 선저 공기공급에 따른 접수면 감소로 인하여 전체저항 감소에 따른 속도향상과 연비절감 효과가 있다. 본 논문에서는 고속 선형시험이 가능한 실 해역모형시험을 이용하여 선저 스텝개수에 따른 고속 Stepped Hull 선형의 저항성능을 비교, 분석하였다. 시험결과, 2개의 스텝을 가지는 선형이 최소저항 선형임을 확인할 수 있었다.

외부경계층 수직 날의 저항저감효과에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Assessment of the Drag Reduction Efficiency of the Outer-layer Vertical Blades)

  • An experimental assessment has been made of the drag reducing efficiency of the outer-layer vertical blades, which were first devised by Hutchins (2003). The drag reduction efficiency of the blades was reported to reach as much as 30%. The assessment of the drag reducing efficiency is mainly restricted to the downstream region of the blades. Indeed, sufficient care has not been taken to such adverse effects as the increase in the wetted surface area and the flow disturbances due to the presence of the blades. In the present study, a series of drag force measurements in towing tank and circulating water channel has been performed toward the assessments of the total drag reduction efficiency of the outer-layer vertical blades.

천연가스자동차용 LNG용기에서의 차량가속도와 Heat leak 관계 해석 (Analysis of heat leak with the car acceleration for LNG tank of Natural Gas Vehicle)

  • LNG is a valuable fuel since it offers some environmental, energy security and economic benefits over diesel. It could be used mainly in heavy-duty trucks and buses. Car acceleration induces the slope angle of the liquid fuel in the tank. Slope angle changes the surface area wetted by liquid fuel and consequently heat leak to the tank. This research is a result of numerical simulation of the heat leak with the car acceleration to LNG tank. The "Pro-HeatLeak" Fortran program is developed and the verification test of the developed program is done. The difference between numerical results and calculated results from MathCad verification test is less than 0.07 percent. The smallest heat leak is correspond to the case without oscillation. For the high car acceleration the value of heat leak is greater than that for the small acceleration. The difference between maximum and minimum heat leak for 10 gallons of fuel vapor in the tank is about 10 percent.

만경강 유역 연체동물 내 Cadmium 및 Cadmium-Methallothionein 함량의 실험적 조사 (Experimental Studies on the Cadium and Metallothioneien in Molluscs Collected from Mangyeong River, Korea)

  • Contamination of heavy metals in water and sediments along Mangyeong Gang(river) has reached up to critical level The object of the study is to elucidate somed molluscs which inhabit along the river on respect to the modulatory role in reducing the pollution. For the purpose, molluscs which are common in numbers and biomass in the area were collected, and Cadmim(Cd) was subjected as a reference metal in the experiment. The corresponding species were; Cipango;aludina chinensis (muddy snail) and Scapharca subcrenata (seashell). As methods, sample species were kept in laboratory under the natural condition as possible. Soil were brought from the site of the collection, dried autoclaved and wetted with ordinary water. It wad utilized as media to maintain the collected species in vitro all the way of the experiment. CdCI$^{2}$ was mixe in the medium according to experimental design. On the result obtained in the study, it is summarized that molluscs which inhabit along Mangyeong Gang(river)consume heavy mital-containing matters, so far Cd is concerned in the study. The amout of Cd concentration in tissues of the benthic natured invertebrates were dose and time related, and MT-Cd was also similar trend. Thus, Cd may eventually combine with low molecular protein forming metalloprotein, then reduce the toxicity of the heavy metal.

Modeling and Autopilot Design of Blended Wing-Body UAV

  • This paper describes the modeling and autopilot design procedure of a Blended Wing-Body(BWB) UAV. The BWB UAV is a tailless design that integrates the wing and the fuselage. This configuration shows some aerodynamic advantages of lower wetted area to volume ratio and lower interference drag as compared to conventional type UAV. Also, BWB UAV may be increase payload capacity and flight range. However, despite of these benefits, this type of UAV presents several problems related to flying qualities, stability, and control. In this paper, the detailed modeling procedure of BWB UAV and stability analysis results using the linearized model at trim condition are represented. Finally, we designed the autopilot of BWB UAV based on a simple control allocation scheme and evaluated its performance through nonlinear simulation.
