Development of new Structure AC-PDP using Thick Film Ceramic Sheet Technology

  • New planar discharge structured AC-PDP has been developed by using TFCS (Thick Film Ceramic Sheet) technology. By applying TFCS to AC-PDP, a sustaining electrode and scanning electrodes are embedded in the TFCS. It is shown that panel performances such as electrical and optical characteristics are superior to commercialized coplanar AC-PDP as well as cost reduction. Moreover the experimental result shows panel performances can be improved drastically by continuous development.

  • 본 연구는 제품개발과 품질경영의 통합이 무기체계 국산화의 성공에 어떤 관계를 갖고 있는지 110개 체계방산 대기업 및 체계방산 대기업의 협력업체 그리고 일반 방산협력업체를 대상으로 실증적으로 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 품질경영역량요소인 인적자원개발역량, 조직역량 그리고 프로세스역량과 연구개발역량 요소인 인적자원역량, 기술축적역량, 내외부와의 협업역량은 모두 무기체계 국산화 성공의 원가는 물론 시간과 품질 등 모든 요인에 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 무기체계 핵심부품 국산화 뿐 아니라 일반기업의 신제품개발 활동에 있어서도 품질경영과 신제품개발을 통합할 때 지속가능한 경쟁우위를 확보할 수 있음을 시사하고 있다.

  • 소프트웨어 개발 프로세스(Software Development Process: SDP)는 소프트웨어공학 교육에서 가장 기초적이며 중심적인 역할을 한다. 모든 소프트웨어는 개발의 시작부터 마지막까지를 모두 포함하는 특정 SDP에 기반해서 개발된다. 따라서, SDP 교육은 소프트웨어공학의 제반 기술에 대한 이해를 도울 수 있다. 본 논문은 대학의 소프트웨어공학 수업에서 활용할 수 있는 소프트웨어 개발 방법론(프로세스)인 OOPT(Object Oriented Process with Traceability)를 소개한다. OOPT는 객체지향 소프트웨어를 개발하기 위한 방법론으로서, 각 단계마다 구체적인 요구사항과 산출물을 정의하고 있으며, 단위/시스템 시험 및 추적성 분석 등의 추가적인 내용들도 포함하고 있다. 본 논문은 OOPT에 대한 적용 사례로서 다년간의 건국대학교 컴퓨터공학과 소프트웨어공학 관련 수업들을 소개하고 있으며, 향후 개선 및 발전 방향을 포함한다.

한의약 표준화 발전방안 연구: 한-중 전통의학 표준화 정책비교를 바탕으로 (Strategic Development Plan of Standardization on Korean Medicine : Comparison with Traditional Medicine Policies between Korea and China)

  • Objectives: This study aims to investigate the policy status of traditional medicine standardization between Korea and China as well as to derive a strategic development plan for Korean medicine standardization. Methods: The existing national plans and preceding studies on traditional medicine standardization in Korea and China were reviewed, and scope of the study was categorized as having three main aspects: infrastructure; standard development and standardization activities; and application and diffusion. Results: Nine development plans for Korean medicine standardization derived under the study were as follows: With regard to infrastructure of standardization, 1) standardization plan of Korean medicine shall be established based on involvement of multi-government ministries. 2) It shall be set with a consistent cooperation process among standardization-related organizations, as well as 3) encourage the industry to participate in standardization activities. To activate standards development, 4) launching the R&D-standardization-industrialization linked project, 5) supporting Korean medicine society and the mirror committee for motivation, and 6) planning the international joint research for development of standard and expanding standardization activities are recommended. In the aspect of application, there is a need for 7) expanding certification systems for the industry and 8) evaluation and feedback on the life-cycle of standardization. Lastly, 9) educational programs for training experts of standardization shall be developed and implemented. Conclusions: In order to invigorate standardization activities for Korean medicine, enhancement of planning and evaluation capacity, ensuring the strategic development of standards, broadening boundaries of international standardization activities, and training professionals are required.

부산항의 개발단계별 수질환경변동특성에 관한 연구 (On the Characteristics of the Water Quality Changes due to the Development Phases of Pusan Port)

  • This study aims to examine the characteristics of the water quality variation in relation to the change of water exchange rate with respect to the development phases of the Pusan port. To clarify the characteristics, water exchange caused by the variations of coastline shape and water surface area was examined by the numerical experiments using the Lagrangian particle tracking model based on 2-D shallow water equation. As the results of numerical experiments, it was proved that the water exchange in the Pusan port was decreased mainly due to the port development and the breakwaters construction. During the port development phases from 1875 to 1998, 35% of the sea-space in the port had decreased to make hinterland spaces. This resulted in the loss of wet-land and coastline change as well as decrease of the water exchange rate at the sea side. The city population in that period had rapidly increased from several thousands to 4 millions, resulting in the large discharge of sewages into the port area. Under the these environmental conditions, it can be clearly said that the water quality in the Pusan port is sensitively affected by the discharge of urban sewages decrease of the water exchange rate in relation to port and urban developments. In the study, the temporal changes of water quality were discussed with respect to the port development phases. It was clear that the water quality wad controlled by the exchange rate change under the port development as well as the input impact into the port from the urbanized city area. To make clean sea of the Pusan port, it is suggested that the sewage control, the water exchange and coastline control should be systematically checked under the concept of eco-friendly development and environmental management.

Supplementary Blue and Red Radiation at Sunrise and Sunset Influences Growth of Ageratum, African Marigold, and Salvia Plants

  • BACKGROUND: Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) with lower electric cost and the specific wavelength have been considering as a novel light source for plant production in greenhouse conditions as well as in a closed culture system. Supplementary lighting for day-length extension was considered as light intensity, light quality, and/or photoperiod control on plant growth and development. Effects of supplementary blue or red LED radiation with lower light intensity on growth of Ageratum (Ageratum houstonianum Mill., cv. Blue Field), African marigold (Tagetes erecta L., cv. Orange Boy), and Salvia (Salvia splendens F. Sello ex Ruem & Schult., cv. Red Vista) were discussed during sunrise and sunset twilight in the experiment. METHODS AND RESULTS: Supplementary lighting by blue and red LEDs for 30 (Treatment B30; R30) or 60 (Treatment B60; R60) min. per day were established in greenhouse conditions. Photosynthetic photon flux for supplementary radiation was kept at $15{\mu}mol\;m^{-2}\;s^{-1}$ on the culture bed. Natural condition without supplementary light was considered as a control. The highest shoot and root dry weights were shown in African marigold exposed by red light for 60 min. per day. Supplementary blue and red lighting regardless of the radiation time significantly stimulated development of lateral branches in African marigold. Stem growth in Ageratum and Salvia seedlings was significantly promoted by red radiation as well as natural light. CONCLUSIONS: Extending of the radiation time at sunrise and sunset twilight using LEDs stimulated reproductive growth of flowering plant species. Different characteristics on growth under supplementary blue or red lighting conditions were also observed in the seedlings during supplementary radiation.

  • 본 연구는 3D프린팅 산업에서 3D프린팅 운용과 개발에 사용되어지는 전문기술인력을 효과적으로 양성할 수 있는 3D프린팅전문운용사와 3D프린터개발산업기사의 국가기술 자격종목을 개발하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 3D프린팅 분야의 국내외 실태 조사, 문헌조사를 통하여 3D프린팅 관련 교육훈련기관 및 검정 수요 예상인력을 파악했으며, 유사자격제도를 분석하였고, 직무분석을 통하여 3D프린팅전문운용사와 3D프린터개발산업기사의 직무 및 교육내용을 분석하였다. 3D프린팅전문운용사의 필기시험은 3D 스캐너, 3D 모델링, 3D프린터 설정, 3D프린터 출력 및 후가공, 3D프린터 교정 및 유지보수 5개 과목과 실기시험의 경우, 3D프린터 작품제작, 3D 모델링, 3D 스캐너, 3D프린터 유지보수 실무 등을 내용으로 검정 방법으로는 작업형이다. 3D프린터개발산업기사의 필기시험은 3D프린터 회로 및 기구, 3D프린터 장치, 3D프린터 프로그램, 3D프린터 교정 및 유지보수 등 4개 과목과 실기시험의 경우, 3D프린터 조립 및 출력점검, CAD 작업, 3D프린터 프로그램, 3D프린터 유지보수 실무 등을 내용으로 검정방법으로는 작업형이다. 또한, 3D프린팅전문운용사와 3D프린터개발산업기사 자격종목 신설에 대한 설문조사를 실시했으며, 3D프린팅전문운용사와 3D프린터개발산업기사 자격종목의 출제기준 및 채점 방법을 제시했고, 필기시험과 실기시험에 대한 모의 검정시험도 실시하였다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 3D프린팅전문운용사와 3D프린터개발산업기사에 대한 교육프로그램을 만들었으며, 자격검정을 실시할 수 있는 출제기준을 제시하였다.

지각된 부모의 학업성취압력과 정신건강 간의 관계에서 정체성 발달의 매개효과 (The Mediation Effect of Identity Development between Perceived Parental Academic Achievement Pressures and Mental Health)

  • 본 연구는 지각된 부모의 학업성취압력과 자녀의 정신건강의 관계에서 정체성 발달의 매개효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 구체적으로, 지각된 부모의 학업성취압력과 자녀의 정신건강 간의 관계가 정체성 발달의 긍정적 측면과 부정적 측면 중 어느 측면을 통해 매개되는지 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 한국 대학생 110명을 대상으로 온라인 설문을 진행하였다. 참여자들은 지각된 부모의 학업성취압력과 정체성 발달, 웰빙, 우울을 묻는 설문지에 응답하였다. 분석 결과, 지각된 부모의 학업성취압력은 참여자의 웰빙과는 부적, 우울과는 정적 상관관계에 있었다. 다음으로, 학업성취압력과 정신건강 관계에서 정체성 발달의 매개효과를 알아본 결과, 정체성 발달의 부정적 측면만이 유의하게 나타났다. 즉, 부모로부터 학업성취압력을 높게 지각한 참여자의 정체성은 제대로 발달하지 않았는데, 이는 곧 낮은 정신건강으로 이어졌다. 본 연구는 자녀가 지각한 부모의 학업성취압력과 자녀의 정신건강 간의 매개변인으로 정체성 발달을 제시하며 정체성 발달의 긍정적 측면과 부정적 측면 중 부정적 측면이 두 변인의 관계를 매개한다는 것을 밝혔다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 입시 경쟁이 치열한 한국사회에서 정체성 형성 과정에 대한 개입이 부모의 학업성취압력과 자녀의 정신건강 간의 관계에서 부정적 영향력을 상쇄할 수 있는 방안이 될 수 있음을 시사하며 본 연구의 제한점과 후속 연구를 제안하였다.

Development of Miniaturized Culture Systems for Large Screening of Mycelial Fungal Cells of Aspergillus terreus Producing Itaconic Acid

  • The task of improving a fungal strain is highly time-consuming due to the requirement of a large number of flasks in order to obtain a library with enough diversity. In addition, fermentations (particularly those for fungal cells) are typically performed in high-volume (100-250 ml) shake-flasks. In this study, for large and rapid screening of itaconic acid (IA) high-yielding mutants of Aspergillus terreus, a miniaturized culture method was developed using 12-well and 24-well microtiter plates (MTPs, working volume = 1-2 ml). These miniaturized MTP fermentations were successful, only when highly filamentous forms were induced in the growth cultures. Under these conditions, loose-pelleted morphologies of optimum sizes (less than 0.5 mm in diameter) were casually induced in the MTP production cultures, which turned out to be the prerequisite for the active IA biosynthesis by the mutated strains in the miniaturized fermentations. Another crucial factor for successful MTP fermentation was to supply an optimal amount of dissolved oxygen into the fermentation broth through increasing the agitation speed (240 rpm) and reducing the working volume (1 ml) of each 24-well microtiter plate. Notably, almost identical fermentation physiologies resulted in the 250 ml shake-flasks, as well as in the 12-well and 24-well MTP cultures conducted under the respective optimum conditions, as expressed in terms of the distribution of IA productivity of each mutant. These results reveal that MTP cultures could be considered as viable alternatives for the labor-intensive shake-flask fermentations even for filamentous fungal cells, leading to the rapid development of IA high-yield mutant strains.

Oral bisphosphonates induced osteonecrosis of the mandible : A case report

  • Bisphosphonates have been approved for Paget's disease, cancer-related hypercalcemia, bone involvement in multiple myeloma or solid tumors and osteoporosis. Although, underlying pathophysiological mechanisms remain unclear, it seems that bisphosphonates inhibit osteoclast precursor cells, modulate migratory and adhesive characteristics and induce apoptosis of osteoclasts. Furthermore impacts on angiogenesis, microenvironment and signal transduction between osteoclasts and osteoblasts. In this report, we present a case of oral bisphosphonates induced osteonecrosis of the mandible in a 84-year-old patient who received for two years. Two tapered screw vent implants(Zimmer, USA) were placed in the area of first and second molar. Two weeks later after crowns restored, some inflammatory signs and symptoms were observed on the second molar area. Sequestrum was formed and the sequestrum was removed with the implant. Frequent follow-up checks and oral hygiene maintenances were done and the first molar implant was restored. There is insufficient evidence suggests that duration of oral bisphosphonate therapy correlates with the development and severity of osteonecrosis. Therefore, dentists should not overlook the possibility of development of bisphosphonate induced osteonecrosis in patients who have taken oral forms of medication for less than three years.
