There are three main purposes in this study. First, we project the number of elderly dementia population in the future based on the projection of the elderly population in the Kyungpook area. Second, the demands of home-based care service and facility-based care for the elderly dementia are estimated. Thirdly, some policy implications for the improvement of welfare services for the elderly dementia are addressed. The findings of this study are as follows. Considering the size of the elderly dementia population, facilities for the elderly dementia are extremely insufficient and most of the elderly dementia patients rely heavily on home-based care. Although we expect that there will be a rapid increase in the number of the elderly dementia in the next two decades, the social welfare services for them in the future are very unreliable. Home nursing for the demented elderly needs to be recognized by law and financed by the government. In this context, we address some issues regarding the rapid growth of the elderly dementia population in the future and social welfare services for them as well. Finally we suggest some policy implications regarding this matter.

Second, IPA analysis on the protection of personal information of the workers in the elderly welfare center shows that the establishment and implementation of protection measures are the areas to maintain good performance. Third, in IPA analysis of the sub-factors of the personal information protection of the workers in the welfare center of the elderly, in the construction and management of the management system, in performing the role of the personal information protection officer and establishing and implementing protection measures, The factors of prevention of information disclosure and exposure and the safe use and management of personal information processing system were analyzed as areas requiring intensive improvement. In accordance with the aged society, oral health care for the elderly is considered important to maintain general health. Although the role of dental hygienists is essential for proper health management of the oral cavity, research on the care system for the elderly people's oral health and on the role of dental hygienists in the field of elderly welfare is still insufficient. Hence, the aim of this study is to investigate the status of Korean elderly welfare system and dental hygienists by comparing them with those in Japan, a precedent of aged society. First, we compared and investigated the Japanese long-term insurance system, which provides an institutional basis for a long-term care system for the elderly in Korea. Second, the elderly welfare law and care system, focusing on oral care, were examined. Lastly, in elderly care, we analyzed the distinctions between Korea and Japan regarding dental hygienists' role and scope of work. Taken together, as a precedent of aged society, Japan has shown well-specialized and systematic welfare for the elderly compared with Korea. With the development of the welfare system for the elderly in Japan, the role and the work scope of dental hygienists have been expanded to improve quality of life of elderly people, as a key professional for elderly oral care. Therefore, we should perceive the need for improvement of long-term care insurance and the expansion of dental hygienists' work in Korea. In conclusion, these results could be used as basic data for improving the elderly welfare system and developing dental hygienists in Korea.

The steady rise in life expectancy resulting from progress in medical science and economic growth and improved living conditions is responsible for large and increasing-number of older peoples in our country. The older peoples who are increasing make up a large percentage of our total population. Now a day the percentage of older people 60 and 65 years old over compose around 8.7% and 5% of the total population in each. In spite of such a rapidly increasing trend of older population, there has had no provisions for elderly welfare in our country. The reason why some children do not want to take care of their older parents, and the other is the lack of elderly welfare, are responsible for large and increasing anxiety of livelihood and alienation to the number of older peoples. As mentioned above, especially studying Swedish elderly welfare model of many developed countries, it intend to provide many of the useful materials to make the elderly welfare systems in our country. The main research for Swedish elderly welfare are as follows : (1) Old age pension systems (2) Social service systems (3) Health care service systems (4) Housing care service systems.
There are several problems facing our society today that are caused by demographic changes, such as an increase in the ageing population. The rapid increase in the aging population leads to increases in medical costs and a higher demand for care services for the elderly. The needs and burdens associated with elderly care are growing, but the human resources and costs to meet these needs are limited. Welfare technology has been suggested as an effective way to solve the discrepancy between higher welfare needs and limited resources. This study aims to explore the current trends and challenges of using welfare technology related to elderly care through literature review. Practical ways to expand uses of welfare technology are also provided. In order to make effective and practical use of welfare technology, public awareness and education, the cooperation of related organizations, the expansion and utilization of Living Labs, and the development and adoption of welfare technology are required.
