초등학생의 과학, 공학, 기술에 대한 인식 및 과학자, 공학자, 기술자에 대한 이미지 조사 (A Study on Elementary Students' Perceptions of Science, Engineering, and Technology and on the Images of Scientists, Engineers, and Technicians)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 초등학생의 과학, 공학, 기술에 대한 인식과 과학자, 공학자, 기술자에 대한 이미지를 조사하는 데 있다. 본 연구에서는 조사도구로 Fralick et al. (2009)의 연구에서 사용된 DAST(Draw a scientist test)를 Draw a scientist at work와 Draw a engineer at work를 수정하고 변형하여 사용하였으며, 경남 G시의 S초등학교 6학년 209명을 대상으로 조사하였다. 연구 결과에 의하면, 초등학생들이 가지고 있는 과학자의 이미지는 선행연구에서 나타난 전형적인 과학자의 이미지와 비슷하였다. 공학자의 대표적인 이미지는 짧은 머리에 안경을 쓰고 있지 않으며 평상복을 입고 일을 하고 있는 형태이다. 그리고 주로 선박, 로봇, 컴퓨터, 비행기를 설계하거나 만드는 모습을 나타내었다. 기술자의 대표적인 이미지는 짧은 머리에 보호 장갑을 끼고 용접용 마스크를 착용하였다. 기술자는 자동차, 로봇 등을 고치거나 렌치, 드라이버, 용접기 등을 이용하여 일하는 모습을 나타내었다. 학생들은 공학과 기술을 학문으로 인식하지 못하는 경향을 나타냈다. 또한, 공학, 기술의 연구 분야, 연구 방법에 대해서도 다양하게 인식하지 못하였다.

원자력 구조재 신뢰성 향상을 위한 열피로 균열 시험편 제작 기법 개발 (Development the Technique for Fabrication of the Thermal Fatigue Crack to Enhance the Reliability of Structural Component in NPPs)

  • Fatigue cracks due to thermal stratification or corrosion in pipelines of nuclear power plants can cause serious problems on reactor cooling system. Therefore, the development of an integrated technology including fabrication of standard specimens and their practical usage is needed to enhance the reliability of nondestructive testing. The test material was austenitic STS 304, which is used as pipelines in the Reactor Coolant System of a nuclear power plants. The best condition for fabrication of thermal fatigue cracks at the notch plate was selected using the thermal stress analysis of ANSYS. The specimen was installed from the tensile tester and underwent continuos tension loads of 51,000N. Then, after the specimen was heated to $450^{\circ}C$ for 1 minute using HF induction heater, it was cooled to $20^{\circ}C$ in 1 minute using a mixture of dry ice and water. The initial crack was generated at 17,000 cycles, 560 hours later (1cycle/2min.) and the depth of the thermal fatigue crack reached about 40% of the thickness of the specimen at 22,000 cycles. As a results of optical microscope and SEM analysis, it is confirmed that fabricated thermal fatigue cracks have the same characteristics as real fatigue cracks in nuclear power plants. The crack shape and size were identified.

  • 제품을 개발하는데 있어서 경량화와 원가절감이라는 두가지 요소는 가장 중요한 화두이다. 특히 대형 LCD 로봇은 최대 $3{\times}3m$ 이상의 글라스를 7m 높이까지 상하, 전후로의 직선운동과 선회축을 중심으로한 회전운동을 하면서 작업공정간 이송을 가능케 하는 대형 구조물이다. 따라서 지나치게 무거울 경우에는 클린룸내 설치에 문제가 있을 수 있고 반송물의 정확한 이송을 위하여는 고강성이 요구되며 대량 생산을 위한 연속작업을 충분히 감당할 수 있는 내구강도를 확보하여야 한다. 따라서 경량화, 고강성, 고강도 제품에 대한 요구는 갈수록 증가하고 있다. 현재 개발되고 있는 11 세대 대형 LCD 승강프레임은 이러한 요구조건을 충족하기 위하여 최적설계 기법을 적용하여 기존 제품 대비 경량화와 고강성 요구조건을 만족하였으며 용접부에 대한 상세 수명평가로 내구강도에 대한 신뢰성을 확보하였다.

웨지 와이어를 이용한 선박용 필터 스크린 제작을 위한 최적 지지 위치 및 안정성 판단 (Determination of Optimal Support Position and Stability for Manufacturing Filter Screen for Ships Using Wedge Wires)

  • In this study, the optimal support position determination and stability determination of the wedge wire screen were performed for the production of the wedge wire filter screen with improved mesh screen. In order to manufacture a filter screen using a wedge wire, the support rod wedge wire is first installed according to the filtering capacity, and then spot welding is performed while rotating the profile wire. In the existing manufacturing method, it was manufactured using a 3m rod wedge wire and then cut according to dimensions, but it required the manufacture of a 6m cylindrical screen. Due to the increase in wedge wire length, it is difficult to manufacture stress concentration at sagging and fixed positions. In order to shorten the time of analysis, a single wedge wire was applied instead of a plurality of wedge wires. The reliability and validity of the interpretation were presented and the results were derived. After selecting the support point at the 2m position, structural analysis was performed on the entire filter screen to confirm stability.The purpose of this study is to identify the maximum deflection of the wire for the production of a 6m wedge wire screen and secure design basic data so that it can work safely through optimal support.

자동차 산업분야의 효과적인 제조협업 구현을 위한 디지털 엔지니어링 적용 방법론에 대한 연구 (The Methodologies of Digital Engineering Applications to Manufacturing Collaborations in Automotive Industries)

  • Very special and tentative considerations including emotional aspects are required to apply any new mechanism and methodologies for manufacturing fields due to several reasons. This study reviews the characteristics of manufacturing collaborations through specific cases applied digital engineering to enhance the collaboration performance in manufacturing domains. Two cases of collaboration related with automotive manufacturing process are analyzed to extract meaningful insights for better collaboration model suggestions. The first case deals the robot simulation to find out advance errors in jig and fixture design during the various welding process of body-in-whites. The effective communication protocol to share their idea and agreed schedules are essential for this collaboration. More severe requirement of collaboration between R&D and manufacturing departments are studied in the second case for e-coating process. The invisible barriers among different departments are lowered by the process application of Computer Aided Engineering which can make sure their own interesting effectively. Those technical and managerial suggestions can be used when the information system and standard process are sought to implement and update not only when innovation projects are executed.

해수용 재료의 TIG용접후 열처리에 따른 특성 평가 (Evaluation of the Properties of Seawater Materials by Heat Treatment after TIG Welding)

  • In this study, in the selection of materials for the elements of a small plant, those with high resistance to corrosion are selected and the material properties of coatings for corrosion prevention are evaluated. In addition, corrosion characteristics and material analysis were performed on the welded part, and the hardness characteristics of the welded part, heat-affected part, and the base metal were evaluated. In the case of the post-weld-heat-treated(PWHT) specimen, the corrosion resistance of STS 316 was lower than that of the specimen without the PWHT due to the formation of intergranular carbide. As a result of evaluating the distribution of the hardness of the weld before and after the PWHT, the hardness of the specimen after the PWHT increased by about 20 Hv. As a result of the corrosion test on the welded specimen, the weight loss tended to increase as the time increased. In the case of the PWHT specimen, the corrosion resistance tended to be significantly lower than that of the specimen without PWHT due to the formation of intergranular carbide.

  • Since Chrysler Motor Co. had experienced the digital development system in the beginning of 1990's, most of leading automobile companies are trying to apply a digital information system for their own business process reengineering based upon concurrent engineering system from product planning phase. This is called as virtual DMU(Digital Mock-Up) system instead of the traditional PMU(Physical Mock-Up) system. By using the virtual prototype, all of the design requirements and system specifications can be checked, changed and optimized more quickly and more efficiently. This paper consists of five chapters for the DMU information system. In the 1$^{st}$ chapter, the principle of digital design system is suggested by using four basic modules such as product design module, process design module, manufacturing system design module and central control module. The basic scheme of DMU is introduced with the benefits of application in the chapter 2. In the chapter 3, a digital design process of new car development is explained with the detailed DMU design and design review processes. In the chapter 4, the practical DMU manufacturing techniques and applications are introduced as CAD/CAM analyses, DPA(Digital Pre-Assembly)reviews for development, production, operation and maintenance phases, digital tolerance analyses and digital factory analyses for assembling line simulation, automated robot welding processes, production jig & fixtures and painting process simulation. Finally, the activities of digital design support; CAS-styling, CAE-engineering and CAT-testing are summarized for design optimization in the chapter 5. As today's automobile manufactures and related business organizations are struggling to compete in the global marketplace, they are concentrating on efficient use of DMU information system to reduce the new car development cost, to have shorten the delivery schedule and to improve product design quality. To meet the demand of those automobile industries on digital information systems, the CALS(Computer aided Acquisition and Logistics Support) and EC(Electronic Commerce)initiative has been focused as a dominant philosophy in defense & commercial industries, specially automobile industries.s.

스마트팩토리 도입사례와 효과 지속성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Smart Factory Introduction Cases and Sustainable Effect)

  • 대학은 학생들이 전공 관련 직무역량을 갖추고 졸업할 수 있도록 교과 및 비교과에서의 경험 학습을 제공해야 하며, 경험 학습에는 교내에서 수행하는 캡스톤디자인과 산업체에서 수행하는 현장실습 등이 있다. 특히 2021년 하반기부터 도입된 표준현장실습제도의 시행으로 산업체의 단기(4주) 및 중기현장실습(8주) 참여 감소현상은 학생들이 실무경험을 쌓을 기회를 더욱 더 어렵게 만들고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 기업의 애로기술을 해결하는 캡스톤디자인과 현장실습을 결합한 산업체 참여형 캡스톤디자인과 현장실습 연계 모형을 제안한다. 참여 학생들은 캡스톤디자인 과정에서 기업애로기술의 해결책을 찾고 현장실습기간 동안 해결책에 대한 시제품제작을 진행한다. 어려운 난제가 있을 경우 전담 교수의 도움으로 해결하는 연계 모형이 경북 Y대 전자공학과 사례의 운영을 통해 대학과 산업체가 상생하는 산학협력 교육의 하나의 좋은 모형이라고 판단된다.
