신경회로망과 수학적 방정식을 이용한 최적의 용입깊이 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on Prediction of Optimized Penetration Using the Neural Network and Empirical models)

  • Adaptive control in the robotic GMA(Gas Metal Arc) welding is employed to monitor the information about weld characteristics and process paramters as well as modification of those parameters to hold weld quality within the acceptable limits. Typical characteristics are the bead geometry composition micrrostructure appearance and process parameters which govern the quality of the final weld. The main objectives of this paper are to realize the mapping characteristicso f penetration through the learning. After learning the neural network can predict the pene-traition desired from the learning mapping characteristic. The design parameters of the neural network estimator(the number of hidden layers and the number of nodes in a layer) were chosen from an error analysis. partial-penetration single-pass bead-on-plate welds were fabricated in 12mm mild steel plates in order to verify the performance of the neural network estimator. The experimental results show that the proposed neural network estimator can predict the penetration with reasonable accuracy and gurarantee the uniform weld quality.

수직 용접을 위한 용접 캐리지 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of a Welding Carriage System for Vertical Weld)

  • 초대형 유류 저장탱크의 후판 용접은 작업자가 직접 손용접을 수행하는데 이로 인해 제품의 품질이 저하되고 재용접율 증가로 인하여 품질 불균일이 발생하며 작업 외부환경 등에 따른 용접 제약성도 많이 따른다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점을 개선하고 용접의 신뢰도를 높이며 공사기간 단축 및 원가절감으로 생산성을 향상시키고자 자동으로 수직 용접이 가능한 용접 캐리지 시스템을 개발하였다. 수직 용접 캐리지 시스템은 용접 플랫폼 시스템, 용접 캐리지 구동장치 및 제어장치 등으로 구성되고 도출된 설계 사양이 만족되도록 개념설계가 이루어졌으며 각각의 서브시스템은 모듈로서 설계되어지고 제작, 조립되었다. 개발된 시스템에 대해 구조적 안정성 평가와 사전 문제점을 파악하고자 구조강도 해석을 수행하여 구조적 안정성을 확인하였고 그 결과를 설계에 반영하고자 하였다. 또한 개발된 시제품의 성능평가를 위해 수직 용접된 후판에 대한 인장시험, 굽힘시험, 충격시험 및 용접시간 등을 요구조건 및 수동용접과 비교 평가를 수행하였고 만족스러운 결과를 획득할 수 있었다. 특히, 수직 용접시간은 수동용접과 비교한 결과 87%이상 향상되었음을 확인할 수 있었다.

계장화 압입시험법을 이용한 점용접부의 경도평가 (Hardness Evaluation of Spot Welding Using Instrumented Indentation Technique)

  • 본 논문에서는 품질 검사 방법론이 적용된 계장화 압입시험을 수행하여 점용접부의 경도를 평가하였다. 먼저 정상 및 불량 용접조건하에서 제작된 점용접 샘플에 대해 로크웰 경도 및 계장화 압입시험을 실시하였다. 계장화 압입시험을 통해 구한 압입하중-변위선도를 이용하여 계산된 경도를, 동일한 조건의 동일위치에 대한 압입경도시험을 통하여 측정된 로크웰 경도와 확률론적 방법론을 이용하여 비교평가 하였다. 또한 계장화 압입시험을 통하여 추정한 경도 및 이에 대한 확률론적 해석을 수행하여 점용접부의 신뢰성 기반 품질 관리 기준 설정 가능성을 평가하였다.

  • The characteristic properties of aluminum, high strength stiffness to weight ratio, good formability, good corrosion resistence, and recycling potential make it the ideal candidate to replace heavier materials in the car to respond to the weight reduction demand within the automotive industry. In this paper, FE simulation was carried out to design an appropriate extrusion die for the automobile control arm. Based on the FE simulation result, a new die design has been proposed for uniform material flow in the cross section of extruded product. And then the welding pressure, extrusion load, and the tendency of mandrel deflection were estimated to verify high quality. In the extrusion experiment, it was possible to produce sound product without defects.

비드 높이 및 조인트 추적의 실시간 제어 연구 (A Study on Real-time Control of Bead Height and Joint Tracking)

  • There have been continuous efforts to automate welding processes. This automation process could be said to fall into two categories, weld seam tracking and weld quality evaluation. Recently, the attempts to achieve these two functions simultaneously are on the increase. For the study presented in this paper, a vision sensor is made, and using this, the 3 dimensional geometry of the bead is measured in real time. For the application in welding, which is the characteristic of nonlinear process, a fuzzy controller is designed. And with this, an adaptive control system is proposed which acquires the bead height and the coordinates of the point on the bead along the horizontal fillet joint, performs seam tracking with those data, and also at the same time, controls the bead geometry to a uniform shape. A communication system, which enables the communication with the industrial robot, is designed to control the bead geometry and to track the weld seam. Experiments are made with varied offset angles from the pre-taught weld path, and they showed the adaptive system works favorable results.

하이브리드 방식 (CNC+Laser)을 이용한 폴리머용접공정 (Hybrid (CNC+Laser) process for polymer welding)

  • Polycarbonate (PC) and Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) was welded through a combination of a diode laser and CNC. Laser beam passed the transparent PC and was absorbed in an opaque ABS. Polymers were melted and welded by absorbed and conducted heat. Experiments were carried out by varying working distance from 44mm to 50mm for the focus spot diameter control, laser input power from 10W to 25W, and scanning speed from 100 to 400mm/min. The weld bead size and the specimen cross-section were analyzed, and tensile results were presented through the joint force measurement. With focus distance at 48mm, laser power with 20W, and welding speed at 300mm/min, experimental results showed the best welding quality which bead size was 3.75mm and the shear strength was $22.8N/mm^2$. Considering tensile strength of ABS is $43N/mm^2$, shear strength was sufficient to hold two materials. A single process was possible in CNC machining processes, surface processing, hole machining and welding. As a result, the process cycle time was reduced to 25%. Compared to a typical process, specimens were fabricated in a single process, with high precision. By combining two operations processes developed process gained 50% more efficiency.

용접방법에 따른 구조용강 용접 접합부의 저온 충격인성 특성 (Effects of Welding Processes on the Low Temperature Impact Toughness of Structural Steel Welded Joints)

  • 본 논문에서는 서로 다른 용접방법 및 용접재료를 사용하여 제작한 강구조물 용접부 및 열영향부에 대하여 샤르피 충격시험 (Charpy Impact Test) 및 조직검사를 통한 저온에서의 충격인성 평가를 실시하여, 극지 및 시베리아와 같은 저온환경에 노출된 강구조물 용접 접합부의 충격인성을 확보할 수 있는 용접방안에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 사용된 용접방법은 강구조물 제작시 널리 쓰이는 SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)와 FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding)이며, 각 용접방법에 따른 저온강용 용접봉을 사용하여 시험판을 제작하였다. 서로 다른 용접방법으로 제작된 시험판의 용접부 및 열영향부에 대하여 샤르피 충격시험을 통한 저온에서의 충격흡수에너지 값과 미세조직 분석을 통하여 용접방법에 따른 구조용강 용접 접합부의 저온 충격인성을 평가하였다. 시험결과 극한지에 강구조물을 적용하기 위해서는 저입열 용접인 SMAW 용접방법 및 그에 따른 저온강용 용접봉을 사용하는 것이 충격인성 확보 측면에서 유리하다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

내부결함 검출 가능한 저주파 ECT 센서개발(I) - 전자기 유도기전력 손실량의 특성- (Development of New Low Frequency ECT Sensor to Detect Inner Defects(I) - Characteristic of Loss of Induced Electromotive Force -)

  • Non-destructive techniques are used widely in the metal industry in order to control the quality of materials. Eddy current testing(ECT) is one of the most extensively used non-destructive techniques for inspecting electrically conductive materials at very high speeds that does not require any contact between the test piece and the sensor. The New ECT sensor which can detect inner defects was developed regardless the condition of surface. This sensor is verified to do experiment which measure the loss of induced electromotive force. The loss of induced electromotive force was measured in 5.4% and this low frequency ECT device can detect internal defects at depth 20 mm.

  • The resistance spot weld is among the most common automotive weld method, now a constant current type is the most common used types. A constant current type have a weak point which can not deal with a defect occurrence by external factors, and recently the adaptive resistance spot weld have been applied around the advanced automotive company. This technology can maintain a stable weld quality through a suitable control the current and weld time with weld environment. In this research, the adaptive resistance spot weld is applied to high strength steels, and its application possibility and weld characteristics are presented.

  • This paper discusses the application of infra-red thermography in monitoring the robotic arc welding process, and it's potential for weld bead dimension and seam tracking control. Thermal images illustrating weld pool formation dynamics and heat distribution phenomena are digitized and their characteristics are measured. At each sampling point the maximum depth of penetration is recorded together with additional information regarding weld bead placement in relation to the seam location. Deficiencies such as incomplete penetration and lack of side wall fusion are readily identified and can be remained during the process. The technique can help an increase in productivity and weld quality by minimizing the amount of post process rework and inspection efforts needed otherwise.
