영구자석을 이용한 선체 외판 주행 로봇 개발 (Development of a hull-plate moving robot with permanent magnets)

  • During the ship's construction process, most high place workings have been carried out by human power, like welding, grinding and so on. Because of the ability to relieve human beings from these, the need of developing a hull-plate moving robot has been rising. This paper describes a hull-plate moving robot, using magnet modules as the adhesive method. Magnet modules maintain the magnetic force between hull-plate and magnets constantly. So that allows the robot to perform movements on the curved plate without the loss of adhesive force. The robot consists of driving motors, control system and magnet modules. The performance of the robot is verified on the curved plate.

  • In continuous galvanizing process at steel making plant, coating weight on the surface of strip that pass through air knife is controlled by the pressure at the chamber of air knife and the gap between the nozzle of air knife and strip. The pressure can be easily measured and controlled. But it is difficult to measure the distance between Air knife nozzle and strip, and also difficult to decide how much distance air knife move. Because, the gap between nozzle and strip varies with the height of air knife, intermesh of stabilizing roll and welding of strips that have different thickness. In this research, we developed a gap sensor that can measure the relative distance between Air knife nozzle and strip.   • 현재 개발중인 다목적실용위성은 자세제어 등에 필요한 추력과 모멘트를 발생하기 위해 NASA의 1lbf급 표준 추력기인 MRE-1을 사용할 예정으로 신뢰도 향상을 위해 이중추력기 모듈의 형태로 장착된다. 열차폐막의 국산화를 위해 기존의 용접 대신 전기주형법을 적용 할 예정이다. 하지만 열차폐막 내경이 기존의 용접으로 제작된 형상보다 불가피하게 감소됨으로 인해 열차폐막 끝단과 추력기 노즐 사이에 간섭이 발생할 우려가 제기되었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 두 가지 다른 공정으로 제작될 열차폐막에 대해 구조해석을 수행하여 위성의 발사환경에서 추력기와 열차폐막의 간섭 여부 및 구조적 거동을 해석 및 비교하였고, 그 결과를 토대로 새로운 형상의 열차폐막에 대한 타당성을 검증하였다.

Ultrahigh Vacuum Technologies Developed for a Large Aluminum Accelerator Vacuum System

  • A large particle accelerator requires an ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) system of average pressure under $1{\times}10^{-7}$ Pa for mitigating the impact of beam scattering from the residual gas molecules. The surface inside the beam ducts should be controlled with an extremely low thermal outgassing rate under $1{\times}10^{-9}Pa{\cdot}m^3/(s{\cdot}m^2)$ for the sake of the insufficient pumping speed. To fulfil the requirements, the aluminum alloys were adopted as the materials of the beam ducts for large accelerator that thanks to the good features of higher thermal conductivity, non-radioactivity, non-magnetism, precise machining capability, et al. To put the aluminum into the large accelerator vacuum systems, several key technologies have been developed will be introduced. The concepts contain the precise computer numerical control (CNC) machining process for the large aluminum ducts and parts in pure alcohol and in an oil-free environment, surface cleaning with ozonized water, stringent welding process control manually or automatically to form a large sector of aluminum ducts, ex-situ baking process to reach UHV and sealed for transportation and installation, UHV pumping with the sputtering ion pumps and the non-evaporable getters (NEG), et al. The developed UHV technologies have been applied to the 3 GeV Taiwan Photon Source (TPS) and revealed good results as the expectation. The problems of leakage encountered during the assembling were most associated with the vacuum baking which result in the consequent trouble shootings and more times of baking. Then the installation of the well-sealed UHV systems is recommended.

스탬핑용 고강도강 TRB 판재의 성형 특성 (The formability of high strength steel plate applied TRB for stamping)

  • 최근에 안전기준과 환경규제 강화의 증대로 인해, 차체의 경량화에 대한 연구가 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 고강도강의 응용은 가장 보편화 된 차체 경량화의 효과적인 방법 중에 하나이다. TWB(Tailor Welded Blank)는 다양한 두께와 용접을 사용하여 부분적인 강도와 경량화를 만족시키는 주요한 공법으로 활용되고 있다. 그러나 추가적인 용접공정으로 인해 판재간의 용접성이 중요하고 용접부에 대한 품질관리가 중요하다. 이점을 개선하기 위해, TRB(Tailor Rollded Blank)공법이 제안되었다. TRB는 롤러 압력을 조절하여 판재의 두께를 다르게 하고, 용접을 사용하는 TWB 공법보다 추가적인 용접공정이 없기 때문에 생산 비용적인 측면에서 훨씬 더 효율적이다. 본 연구에서는 Blank의 압연 영향을 조사하기 위해 스탬핑용 고강도강 TRB 판재의 성형성을 분석하였다. 성형성을 분석하기 위해, TRB 판재에서 0.8 mm, 1 mm의 두께를 갖는 부분을 채취하여 시험하였다. 시편에 새겨진 그리드마킹의 변형도를 분석하여 변형률을 조사하였고, 0.8 mm와 1.0 mm의 두께를 갖는 TRB 시편으로 Erichsen 시험을 한 후에 FE분석을 활용하여 성형성과 고유진동수를 비교하였다.

신경망 모델 기반 조선소 조립공장 작업상태 판별 알고리즘 (Neural Network Model-based Algorithm for Identifying Job Status in Block Assembly Shop for Shipbuilding)

  • In the shipbuilding industry, since production processes are so complicated that the data collection for decision making cannot be fully automated, most of production planning and controls are based on the information provided only by field workers. Therefore, without sufficient information it is very difficult to manage the whole production process efficiently. Job status is one of the most important information used for evaluating the remaining processing time in production control, specifically, in block assembly shop. Currently, it is checked by a production manager manually and production planning is modified based on that information, which might cause a delay in production control, resulting in performance degradation. Motivated by these remarks, in this paper we propose an efficient algorithm for identifying job status in block assembly shop for shipbuilding. The algorithm is based on the multi-layer perceptron neural network model using two key factors for input parameters. We showed the superiority of the algorithm by using a numerical experiment, based on real data collected from block assembly shop.

이원계 전해도금법에 의한 Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu 무연솔더 범핑의 정밀 조성제어 (Precise composition control of Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu lead free solder bumping made by two binary electroplating)

  • Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu solder is widely used as micro-joining materials of flip chip package(FCP) because of the fact that it causes less dissolution and has good thermal fatigue property. However, compared with ternary electroplating in the manufacturing process, binary electroplating is still used in industrial field because of easy to make plating solution and composition control. The objective of this research is to fabricate Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu solder bumping having accurate composition. The ternary Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu solder bumping could be made on a Cu pad by sequent binary electroplating of Sn-Cu and Sn-Ag. Composition of the solder was estimated by EDS and ICP-OES. The thickness of the bump was measured using SEM and the microstructure of intermetallic-compounds(IMCs) was observed by SEM and EDS. From the results, contents of Ag and CU found to be at $2.7{\pm}0.3wt%\;and\;0.4{\pm}0.1wt%$, respectively.

  • This study have processed the developing of vane damper with accurate control by using gear which is a flow-control equipment of marine boiler's FD fan on this research. For the developing of vane damper, we have corrected some problem from welding & assembly process by changing the design, and for the case of an emergency case, we have applied the easy disassembly & assembly on that vane damper. Compared to Rink type vane damper in current, we have focused on high efficiency with low price of that new developing damper. For selection of actuator, we have tried to find the propriety with our developing focus. Also, we have developed a jig of assembly processing for high productivity with quality, it caused the best assembly performance with heat-treated & processed parts.

자동차 서스펜션 로워암의 모델링 보조시스템 개발 (Development of Modeling Support System for Lower Arm in Automobile Suspension Module)

  • In this study, the modeling support system was developed which can make easy and fast FE-modeling and verify the results of static and durability analysis for the lower arm, one of the important parts in automobile suspension module. It took into account of the whole complicated design processes verifying the durability coefficients evaluated by fatigue analysis, which should be used to satisfy a design criteria. To guide the FE-modeling the drive page was constructed by using HTML and XML, which was based on expert's know-hows. It is able to integrate the processes to design the lower arm in practice, so that the standardization of its FE-Modeling is achieved, consequently. The 3 dimensional CAD's geometrical data were changed automatically into pre-defined shell elements under the concept of mesh-offset technique, and then welding elements were treated to connect between target and basic surfaces constructed by the shell elements. This system has also a user interface to control boundary and load ing conditions applied in performing of the static and durability analysis, in which many load cases can be applied simply with the MPCs driven by just few mouse clicks. These were implemented on the platform of MSC.Patran and utilized ANSYS, MSC.Nastran and MSC.Fatigue as the solver of the analysis performed. The developed system brings not only significant decreasing of man-hours required in FE-modeling process, but also obtaining of satisfied qualities in analyzed results. It will be integrated in a part of virtual prototyping module of the developing e-engineering framework.

Ferrite-Bainite dual phase 강의 피로균열진전 특성 평가 (A Study of Fatigue Crack Growth Behaviour for Ferrite-Bainite Dual Phase Steel)

  • With the recent increase in size of ships and offshore structures, there are more demand for thicker plates. As the thickness increases, it is known that fatigue life of the structures decrease. To improve the fatigue life, post weld treatments techniques, such as toe grinding, TIG dressing and hammer peening, are typically employed. However, these techniques require additional construction time and production cost. Therefore, it is of crucial interest steels with longer fatigue crack growth life compared to conventional steels. This study investigates fatigue crack growth rate (FCGR) behaviours of conventional EH36 steel and Ferrite-Bainite dual phase EH36 steel (F-B steel). F-B steel is known to have improved fatigue performance associated with the existence of two different phases. Ferrite-Bainite dual phase microstructures are obtained by special thermo mechanical control process (TMCP). FCGR behaviours are investigated by a series of constant stress-controlled FCGR tests. Considering all test conditions (ambient, low temperature, high stress ratio), it is shown that FCGR of F-B steel is slower than that of conventional EH36 steel. From the tensile tests and impact tests, F-B steel exhibits higher values of strength and impact energy leading to slower FCGR.
