SPC 용접부의 강도특성에 미치는 $CO_2$ 용접조건의 영향 (Effect of $CO_2$ Welding Conditions on Property of Strength in Welded Joint of SPC Steel)

  • It is necessary to investigate the welding performance and fracture resistance of welding part in structure. This study presented a most suitable condition of welding process for butt and lap joints by $CO_2$ arc welding which is widely used in the vehicle structure. Also it was conducted to tensile and fatigue test under various welding conditions. For butt and lap joints, the best conditions of welding voltage and current were 30V and 320A, respectively, in 3.2 and 4.5 mm thick steel plate. Under this condition it could be taken the highest tensile strength and fatigue strength, and a good bead appearance.

  • A domestic's freight stock is about 14,000 cars. Most of them is consisted of casting bogie type. Casting bogie type has some problems such as maintenance, part abrasion, running safety etc. Now a day casting bogie type have replaced with welded type bogie for high speed. The maximum speed of the container freight car is 70km/h limit at empty weight condition in case of casting type bogie frame. So there are some difficulty in commercial service for high speed coaches. Then we should re-decide whether the casting bogie type has speed up 90km/h limit at empty weight through out the vibration characteristic.

Reliability Evaluations for Shear Strength of Resistance Welded Ball Stud according to Different Cooling Methods

  • As a type of bolt with a spherical head, the ball stud is widely used as a part of a ball joint in steering or suspension systems in automobiles. Balls and studs are subjected to heat treatment suitable for each material; in particular, the shear strength of the ball stud must meet the specifications of the production company. This study evaluated the shear strength of joints according to the cooling method of ball studs subject to resistance welding. The shear stress of water cooling was higher than that of air cooling (as-received material). Note, however, th at oil cooling showed lower stress than that of as-received. When judged by standard deviation, mean, and coefficient of variation according to the arithmetic statistics and shape parameter as well as scale parameter, oil cooling is suitable.

  • The feedwater ring is an assembly in steam generator internal piping, which distributes feedwater into the secondary side of the steam generator. It consists of an assembly of carbon steel piping, pipe fittings and J-nozzles which are inserted into the top of the feedwater ring and welded to the diameter of the ring. The feedwater ring at the attachment region of the J-nozzle may be susceptible to flow accelerated corrosion (FAC) due to flow turbulence which increases local fluid velocities. If a J-nozzle becomes a loose part, it can cause damage to tubing near the tube sheet. In this paper, the structural stress analysis for a wall thinned feedwater ring and integrity evaluations under assumed loading conditions are carried out in compliance with ASME B&PV SecIII, NB-3200.

결합강그리드보강재의 특성 및 적용 (Charateristics of the Jointed Steel-Grid Reinforcement and the Application)

  • To analysis of the embanked slope stability using a jointed reinforcement, the internal stability and the external stability have to be satisfied, respectively. But, because the lengths of ready-made steel-grid were limited, the reinforcements must be connecting themselves to the reinforcing. In this study, the mechanical test was carried out to investigate the tensile failure and the pullout failure at the joint parts of them, which was based on the analysis of reinforced slope in field. Through the tensile tests in mid-air for the jointed steel-grid, the deformation behavior was seriously observed as follows : deformation of longitudinal member, plastic deformation of longitudinal member and of crank part. Those effects were due to the confining pressure and overburden pressure of the surrounding ground. The bearing resistance at jointed part of jointed steel-grid was due to the latter only. The maximum tensile forces were higher about 20kN~27kN than ultimate pullout resistance, but, the results of those was almost the same in mid-soil. The failures of steel-grid occurred at welded point both of longitudinal members and transverse members and of jointed parts. The strength of jointed parts itself got pullout force about 20kN, which was about 65% for ultimate pullout force of the longitudinal members N=2. To the stability analysis of reinforced structure including the reinforced slope, the studying of connection effects at jointed part of reinforcement members must be considered. Through the results of them, the stability of reinforced structures should be satisfied.

센터필라 적용을 위한 이종 접합강의 충격 특성 해석에 관한 연구 (Analysis of Impact Characteristics of Bonded Dissimilar Materials for Center Pillar)

  • 본 연구에서는 레이저 TWB로 용접된 이종재료의 동적 특성에 대한 해석이 수행되었다. 해석프로그램은 Hyper works 10.0으로 Solver는 LS-DYNA v.971, 모델링 요소는 2D-Shell, 요소 수는 35,641개, 노드 수는 36,561개이다. 충격속도는 10 km/h이다. 상 하부의 용접선 높이에 따르는 영향을 연구하기 위하여, 하부의 길이를 300 mm와 400 mm로 하였다. 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다. 길이 300 mm인 하부 재료 SPFC980의 변형은 가장 작고, 충돌 흡수 에너지는 가장 크다. 하부 냉연강 기준으로 TWB의 위치가 짧을수록 성능이 우수하게 나타났다. 즉, 상대적으로 상부 고강도강인 SABC1470 재료가 차지하는 비율에 따라 성능이 좌우되었다. 하부 재료 SPFH590은 큰 변형이 나타났고, 충돌성능은 SPFC980보다 현저히 떨어졌다. 따라서 충돌 성능 해석 결과에서 하부 재료 SPFC980인 길이 300 mm가 가장 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

용접상세의 변화에 따른 용접이음부의 잔류응력에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Residual Stress in the Welded Joints with Different Details)

  • 용접잔류응력의 모재두께방향을 포함하는 3차원 분포를 파악하기 위해, 용접상세를 변화시킨 필렛용접이음을 대상으로 해서 실험 및 해석을 수행하였다. 특히, 지금까지 계측이 곤란했던 필렛용접이음의 용접루트부의 잔류응력을 실측하였다. 파라메타로써는 용접입열량과 용접층수를 취급하고, 모재두께방향을 포함하는 3차원 잔류응력의 분포를 조사하였다. 그 결과, 입열량이 증가하면, 용접토우와 루트부를 포함하는 용접부에서는 잔류응력의 크기에 변화가 거의 없지만, 인장잔류응력의 영역이 크게 나타났다. 또 단층과 다층용접의 비교에서는, 다층용접 쪽이 단층용접보다 잔류응력이 상당히 낮음을 알 수 있었다. 용접부 근방의 인장잔류응력의 영역도 다층용접 쪽이 단층용접보다 작게 나타난 것을 알 수 있었다.

자동차 산업에서 뿌리기술의 중요성 및 최신 용접/접합 기술 (Importance of Fundamental Manufacturing Technology in the Automotive Industry and the State of the Art Welding and Joining Technology)

  • The automotive vehicle is made through the following processes such as press shop, welding shop, paint shop, and general assembly. Among them, the most important process to determine the quality of the car body is the welding process. Generally, more than 400 pressed panels are welded to make BIW (Body In White) by using the RSW (Resistance Spot Welding) and GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding). Recently, as the needs of light-weight material due to the $CO_2$ emission issue and fuel efficiency, new joining technologies for aluminum, CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) and etc. are needed. Aluminum parts are assembled by the spot welding, clinching, and SPR (Self Piercing Rivet) and friction stir welding process. Structural adhesive boning is another main joining method for light-weight materials. For example, one piece aluminum shock absorber housing part is made by die casting process and is assembled with conventional steel part by SPR and adhesive bond. Another way to reduce the amount of the car body weight is to use AHSS (Advanced High Strength Steel) panel including hot stamping boron alloyed steel. As the new materials are introduced to car body joining, productivity and quality have become more critical. Productivity improvement technology and adaptive welding control are essential technology for the future manufacturing environment.

Mn-Ni-Cr-Mo강에 대한 Inconel 690 오버레이 용접부에서의 고온균열의 발생거동 (Hot Cracking Behavior in Inconel 690 Overlay Welds on Mn-Ni-Cr-Mo Steel for Pressure Vessels)

  • In order to clarify hot cracking phenomena occurred in Inconel 690 welds and it's prevention, in this study, the cracking behavior and the influence of welding variables on cracking in Inconel 690 overlay welds on Mn-Ni-Cr-Mo steel(SA 508 cl.3) for pressure vessel were investigated by using mock-up test. The main results are as follows: The cracks in Inconel 690 overlay welds were mainly generated near the start and the end part of welding beads adjacent to STS 309L welded outside of Inconel 690 welds. Most of the cracks showed typical solidification crack, and also it was assumed that there was possibility of liquation cracking in HAZ. The existence of Nb constituents or concentration of Nb was recognized on the fracture facets of the solidification cracks in the welds by SMAW. Therefore Nb was considered to be the main factor of the solidification cracking. As the weld heat input was more increased and the weld bead length was longer, the extent of cracking was more increased. Moreover the extent of cracking was considerably decreased by changing of welding sequence to the start and the end part of welds. Hot cracking in welds by GTAW was considerably decreased as compared with that of SMAW. And cracks were well generated in the Inconel 690 overlay welds adjacent to 575 309L welds. This means that the hot cracking susceptibility of Inconel 690 welds was largely varied by chemical components and/or compositions of filter metals, base metals and neighboring welds.

강과 콘크리트의 합성 부재 용접시 콘크리트 강도 저감 방지 기법 연구 (A Study on Method for The Reduction of Decreasing Strength of Concrete When Welding the Connection Part of Composite Structure Consist of Steel and Concrete)

  • 최근 건설 기술 발달에 따라 공기 단축을 위하여 세그먼트를 공장 제작하고 현장에서 용접 또는 볼팅 등의 방법으로 접합을 하는 시공이 이루어지고 있으며, 확대되고 있는 추세이다. 이때 강과 콘크리트로 구성된 합성부재의 용접시, 용접열이 약 20,000$^{\circ}C, 용접부 주변 온도가 1,300$^{\circ}C 이상이 될 정도로 높은 온도가 생성 된다. 이때 높은 온도로 인하여 용접부와 맞닿아 있는 콘크리트의 강도 감소가 발생하며, 경우에 따라서 국부적으로 강도감소가 매우 큰 곳도 존재하게 되어 구조물 거동에 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이를 방지하기 위해 강재와 콘크리트 사이에 보강재를 삽입하여 용접열에 의한 콘크리트의 강도 감소를 방지하는 방법을 제시하였다.
