  • Recently, the improvement of computer capacities and artificial intelligence ware caused to employ for prediction of residual stresses and strength evaluation. There are a lot of researches regarding the measurement and prediction of residual stresses for weldment using a neural network in the advanced countries, but in our country, a neural network as a technical part, has only been used on the possibilities of employment for welding area. Furthermore, the relationship between residual stress and process parameters using a neural network was wholly lacking. Therefore development of a new technical method for the optimized process parameters on the reduction of residual stress and applyment of real-time production line should be developed. The objectives of this paper is to measure the residual stress of butt welded specimen using strain gage sectioning method and to apply them to a neural network for prediction of residual stresses on a given process parameter.   • Fatigue strength. especially crack initiation behavior of high strength steel under marine water environment was investigated. Marine structures were usually constructed by lot of weld joints and were designed by basis of the fatigue strength of weld joints. This study was carried out to mini. The fatigue initiation behavior is more important rather than crack propagation behavior under the design of marine structures, because it is very difficult to find out the crack propagation phenomena and repair the damaged part of welded joints in sea water Then, the new configuration specimen for fatigue crack initiation tests was proposed. Using this new specimen, it is easy to carry out the crack initiation tests with relatively low cycling loading and clearly find out a crack initiation fatigue life.

  • The aluminized steel sheet exhibits excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion, and can substitute for stainless steel or heat-resisting steel in some situations. Furthermore it has wide applications, owing to its low cost and excellent performance, in the petrochemical industry, electric power, other energy conversion system, etc. and has attracted the attention of many investigators. Laser welding is a remarkably advantageous method for welding of thin sheets and surface-treated steel sheets since the method requires less heat input, and it is suitable for high-speed welding. In this study, thus, the laser weldability of aluminized steel sheet was investigated. As the result from the study, there is an Al-rich zone in a welded part which has decreased the welding strength due to the intermetallic compounds in the Al-rich zone.

  • Rail is one of major track components for train service, it should be provided in the condition of flat and smooth driving aspect. Therefore, it is inevitable that there would be the field welding to integrate on CWR(Continuous Welded Rail) removing rail joint in these days. It is high chance to be some rail surface irregularity due to the limitation on the status of work condition If a high speed train runs on the rail surface irregularity in the welding part, big impact load comes to pass on that, so track irregularity cycle is reduced, therefore track maintenance cost can be increased. this paper has analyzed wheel load variation according to removing the rail surface irregularity using portable grinding machine in the high speed line. The result measured before and after in the field is decreased about 9.26% on the wheel load variation.

  • Condenser tube is a component of the heat exchanger in automobile and air conditioning apparatus. It is generally made from the 1000 or 3000 series Al alloys that have good heat efficiency. In the case of 3000 series, these have high strength and hardness but have the disadvantage of low extruability. The development of extruding process in condenser tube with 3000 series Al alloys is studied in this paper. A study on extrusion process is performed through the 3D FE simulation in non-steady state and extrusion experimentation. Also, nano-indentation test is employed to estimate the weldability of tubes. Especially, An evaluation of the weldability using the nano-indentation is accomplished as compared with nano-hardness of welded part and the others in cross-section of tube.

  • Spot welding widely used in automotive and aerospace industries has made it possible to produce more precise and smaller electric part by robotization and systemization of welding process. The quality of welding depends upon the size of nugget between the overlapped steel plates. Recently, the thickness of the steel plates becomes much thinner and hence, it introduces the smaller size of nugget. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the criterion to evaluate the quality of weld in order to obtain the optimal welding conditions for the better performance. In this paper, a thin steel plates, 0.1mm through 0.3mm thickness, have been spot-welded at different welding conditions and the nugget sizes are examined by defocused scanning microscopy. The relationships between nugget sizes and weldability have been investigated experimentally. The result of ultrasonic technique shows the good agreement with that of the tensile test.

  • Previously, we had experimented on the model of stow net under the various combination including water velocity, spherical floats and elevating floats with the shearing hoods instead of the upper beam, however we couldn't concern with their characteristics. Spherical floats maintain their buoyancy at the same level when the speed increases, only the drag increases and effects some reduction in the fishing height. To eliminate this shortcoming, floats have to some hydrodynamic lifting force which increases with increasing speed. Phillips float with a dish-shaped metal plate welded on at the lower part and synthetic upthrusting float were used for the experiment to compare with their characteristics. Six kinds of model shearing hood depend on the angle of attack were used to test the characteristic of the shearing hood. According to their results, when the angle of attack is 30\ulcorner, the lift and drag coefficient reveal 1. 36, 0.84 respectively. And also experimented on the 5X8cm shearing hood to investigate the suitability for the model stow net.

  • The aim of this study was to improve extrudability limit, eliminate welding line and obtain optimum thixoextrusion conditions for manufacturing tubes of 7075 Al wrought alloy. By thixoextrusion, it was possible to improve deformability, control isotropy with extrusion direction, eliminate welding line (seamless) and save cost due to low energy consumption compared with conventional extrusion processes. The welded part was not observed at the welding line area. The grains of thixoextruded tube were homogeneously distributed and equiaxed grains were observed. Therefore, thixoextrusion is the most effective variable for the control of the magnitude of the welding line.

  • This report is the result performed the structural analysis and the static and fatigue load test of bogie frame for the purpose of designing and verifying the bogie frame which satisfy the load condition required in the UIC code. This investigation is proposed the efficient draft of the design to satisfy the load condition required in the UIC code. And It is performed the structural analysis to evaluate the static strength and the fatigue life of the patient material and the welded part. Also, This is proposed the efficient draft of the test to satisfy the method of the static and fatigue test required in the UC code. And it is carried out the static and the fatigue load test to verify it. We can designed the bogie frame in compliance with UIC 515-4 and 615-4 code.
