피로강도 향상을 위한 용접이음부의 형상제어에 관한 연구 (A Shape Control of Welded Joints to Improve Fatigue Strength)

  • 본 연구에서는 강상판의 U리브를 현장에서 상향의 용접자세로 용접이음을 실시할 경우, 용접이음부에는 시공오차에 의한 단차가 발생하고, 응력집중이 발생하기 쉽다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이면재가 부착된 용접이음부에 대해 응력해석 및 실험을 실시하였다. 이면재가 부착된 U리브 용접이음부의 단차, 루트부 형상, 루트갭 및 이면재의 폭과 두께를 변화시켜 응력해석을 실시한 결과, 단차가 커질수록 응력집중계수는 현저히 증가하였으며, 루트갭도 커질수록 응력집중계수가 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 단차 및 루트갭이 동일한 경우에는 루트부 형상이 직각인 경우보다 반원인 경우에 응력집중계수가 작게 나타났으며, 이면재의 폭 및 두께는 응력집중계수에 그다지 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이면재가 부착된 시험편의 피로실험에서는 단차가 커질수록 피로수명이 현저히 저하되었으며 피로균열은 이면재가 부착된 모재측 루트부에서 발생하여 용접비드 표면측으로 전파하였다. 응력해석에서 루트부의 형상이 반원인 경우, 응력집중계수가 작게 나타나므로, 용접조건을 변화시켜 루트부 곡률반경 및 플랭크각을 제어하는 루트부 형상제어법를 개발하였다.

이종 마찰용접 강봉재의 후열처리에 따른 기계적 특성 (Mechanical Properties of Dissimilar Friction Welded Steel Bars in Relation to Post Weld Heat Treatment)

  • Dissimilar friction welding were produced using 15(mm) diameter solid bar in chrome molybedenum steel(KS SCM440) to carbon steel(KS S45C) to investigate their mechanical properties. The main friction welding parameters were selected to endure good quality welds on the basis of visual examination, tensile tests, Vickers hardness surveys of the bond of area and H.A.Z and microstructure investigations. The specimens were tested as-welded and post-weld heat treated(PWHT). The tensile strength of the friction welded steel bars was increased up to 100% of the S45C base metal under the condition of all heating time. Optimal welding conditions were n=2,000(rpm), $P_1=60(MPa),\;P_2=100(MPa),\;t_1=4(s),\;t_2=5(s)$ when the total upset length is 5.4 and 5.7(mm), respectively. The peak of hardness distribution of the friction welded joints can be eliminated by PWHT. Two different kinds of materials are strongly mixed to show a well-combined structure of macro-particles without any molten material and particle growth or any defects.

마찰용접된 국산내열 강 (SUH3-SUS303 )의 시효열처리가 고온피로강도 및 파괴거동에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (The Effect of Aging Treatment on the High Temperature Fatigue Fracture Behavior of Friction Welded Domestic Heat Resisting Steels (SUH3-SUS 303))

  • Si-Cr계 내열강 SUH3와 Cr-Ni계 stainless강 SUS 303 및 이들이 마찰용접재 SUH3-SUS303을 $1,060^{\circ}C$에서 용체화처리하고 다시 $700^{\circ}C$에서 10, 100시간 시효열처리한 각 시험편의 고온 피로강도에 대한 시효열처리의 효과를 알기 위하여 $700^{\circ}C$에서 고온 회전굽힘 피로시험을 하고 파약거동을 미시적으로 관찰하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) SUH3재와 SUS303재의 최적마찰용접조건은 회전수 2420rpm, 마찰가압력 $8kg/mm^2$, 전 upset량 7mm(마찰가압시간 3sec, upset시간 2sec)이었다. 2) $700^{\circ}C$ 고온에서 장시간 이루어지는 고온피로시험에 있어, 용체화처리재의 S-N 곡선 경사부의 기울기가 가장 급하게 나타났다. 3) SUH3-SUS303 마찰용접재는 $1,060^{\circ}C$에서 1시간용체화 처리하고, $700^{\circ}C$에서 시효처리하는 경우 최적시효시간은 10시간이었다. 4) 10시간 시료재의 고온피로한도는 모재보다 SUH3은 75.4%, SUS303은 28.5% 높았으며, 용접재 SUH3-SUS303은 44.2% 정도 높았다. 100시간 시효재는 모재보다 SUH3은 64.91% SUS303은 30.4% 높았으며, SUH3-SUS303은 30.4% 높았으며, SUH3-SUS303은 36.6% 높았다. 5) 마찰용접재의 상온 및 고온의 피로파단은 모두 SUS303의 모재측에 발생하였으며, 용접면에서의 파단은 전혀 없었다. 6) SUS303재와 마찰용접재 SUH3-SUS303재의 크랙은 입내파양형이었으나 SUH3은 입계크랙의 전파로 파양한다.

SF45와 SM45C의 마찰용접 최적화에 따른 회전굽힘피로 특성 (Rotary Bending Fatigue Characteristics According to Optimal Friction Welding of SF45 to SM45C Steel Bars)

  • 본 연구는 수송기계 축 등에 이용되는 캠 형상 부분만을 기존의 단조품인 SF45와 축 부분은 일반기계구조용 탄소강재인 SM45C를 직경 20 mm를 이용하여 이종 마찰용접을 수행하였다. 최적조건을 규명하기 위해 인장시험 등 용접품질과의 상관관계를 고찰하였고, 또한 최적조건에서 마찰용접 후 열처리를 시행하여 용접재(As-welded)와 후열처리재(PWHT)에 대한 회전굽힘 피로시험을 시행하였다. 결과적으로 두 이종재가 강한 혼합으로 계면에서도 개재물 및 산화막이 플래시로 토출되어 양호한 접합상태임을 확인하였다. 더욱이 모재(SF45)와 후열처리재의 피로한도 각각 180 MPa, 250 MPa로 나타났다. 이는 후열처리재가 SF45 모재에 비해 약 40 %의 피로수명이 향상되었음을 확인하였다.

잔류응력을 고려한 점용접이음재의 피로설계 (Fatigue Design of Spot Welded Lap Joint Considered Residual Stress)

  • Because welding residual stress is formidable result in electric resistance spot welding process, and it detrimentally affect to fatigue crack initiation and growth at nugget edge of spot welded la p joints, it should be considered in fatigue analysis. Thus, accurate prediction of residual stress is very important. In this study, nonlinear finite element analysis on welding residual stress generated in process of the spot welding was conducted, and their results were compared with experimental data measured by X-ray diffraction method. By using their results, the maximum principal stress considered welding residual stress at nugget edge of the spot welded lap joint subjected to tension-shear load was calculated by superposition method. And, the $\Delta$P- $N_f$ relations obtained through fatigue, tests on the IB-type spot welded lap joints was systematically rearranged with the maximum principal stress considered welding residual stress. From the results, it was found th2at fatigue strength of the IB-type spot welded lap joints could be systematically and more reasonably rearranged by the maximum principal stress($\sigma$1max-res considered welding residual stress at nugget edge of the spot welding point.

맞대기 용접 이음재 인장시험에서 발생한 음향방출 신호의 웨이블릿 변환과 응용 (A Study on the Wavelet Transform of Acoustic Emission Signals Generated from Fusion-Welded Butt Joints in Steel during Tensile Test and its Applications)

  • This study was carried out fusion-welded butt joints in SWS 490A high strength steel subjected to tensile test that load-deflection curve. The windowed or short-time Fourier transform(WFT or STFT) makes possible for the analysis of non-stationary or transient signals into a joint time-frequency domain and the wavelet transform(WT) is used to decompose the acoustic emission(AE) signal into various discrete series of sequences over different frequency bands. In this paper, for acoustic emission signal analysis to use a continuous wavelet transform, in which the Gabor wavelet base on a Gaussian window function is applied to the time-frequency domain. A wavelet transform is demonstrated and the plots are very powerful in the recognition of the acoustic emission features. As a result, the technique of acoustic emission is ideally suited to study variables which control time and stress dependent fracture or damage process in metallic materials.

경량 차체용 고장력 강판의 Spot 용접과 피로설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Spot Welding and Fatigue Design of High Strength Steel Sheets for Light Weight Vehicle Body)

  • The recent tendency in the automobile industries is toward light weighting vehicle body to improve the problems by environmental pollution as well as improving fuel cost. The effective way to reduce the weight of vehicle body seems to be application of new materials for body structure and such trend is remarkable. Among the various materials for vehicle body, stainless steel sheet (for example, 301L and 304L), TRIP steel and cold rolled steel sheets are under the interests. However, in order to guarantee reliability of new material and to establish the long life design criteria of body structure, it is important and require condition to assess spot weldability of them and fatigue strength of spot welded lap joints which were fabricated under optimized spot welding condition. And, recently, a new issue in the design of the spot welded structure is to predict economically fatigue design criterion without additional fatigue tests. In general, for fatigue design of the spot-welded thin sheet structure, additional fatigue tests according to the welding condition, material, joint type, and fatigue loading condition are generally required. This indicates that much cost and time for it should be consumed. Therefore, in this paper, the maximum stresses at nugget edge of spot weld were calculated through nonlinear finite element analysis first. And next, obtained the ${\Delta}P-N_{f}$ relation through the actual fatigue tests on spot welded lap joints of similar and dissimilar high strength steel sheets. And then, the ${\Delta}P-N_{f}$ relation was rearranged in the ${\Delta}{\sigma}-N_{f}$ relation. From this ${\Delta}{\sigma}-N_{f}$ relation, developed the fatigue design technology for spot welded lap joints of them welded using the optimized welding conditions.

  • This paper deals with determining the proper friction welding condition and analyzing mechanical in of friction welded joints of sintered carbide tool materials (SKNM50 for the blade part of press punch) to alloy steel (SCM440 for the shank part of press punch), the alloy steel to aluminum(A6061 for the interlayer material between the blade part and the shank) and sintered carbide tool materials to aluminum. And also acoustic emission test will be carried out during fiction welding to evaluate the weld quality.

대차 프레임용 SM490A 용접재의 피로 특성 평가 (Fatigue Characteristics of SM490A Welded Joints for Bogie Frame)

  • We compared the fatigue characteristics of weld metal with those of base metal, and not heat-treated with heat-treated. Also, we examined the influence of bead in a viewpoint of fatigue life. From the experimental results, it has been seen that the fatigue characteristics of welded specimens grinded the toe of bead are slightly better than not grinded. We have seen that the fatigue life is affected more by the stress concentration on the profile change in the weld toe rather than by residual stress influence, because heat-treated or not had almost no influence on the fatigue characteristics.
