가압기 전열기 슬리브 및 J-Groove 용접부의 자동 초음파검사 (Automatic Ultrasonic Inspection on Heater Sleeves and J-Groove Welds of Pressurizer)

  • In order to prevent the corrosion of component contacted primary water designed alloy 600 material in the nuclear power plant. But the primary water stress corrosion cracking(PWSCC) of alloy 600 and weld area occurs continuously due to the residual stress. The leakage accident resulted from PWSCC in the drain nozzle of the steam generator of domestic power plants. Heater sleeves of the pressurizer are welded with alloy 600 weld material and therefore exposed to the primary water environment. PWSCC occurred in heater sleeve material and weld area of many foreign power plants. The current issue of domestic nuclear power plants are consequently concentrated to PWSCC of similar material. In order to improve the detection and the sizing of the PWSCC in the welding sleeve of the pressurizer, the automatic UT system and multi-directions probe sets have been developed. The experimental studies have been performed using the mock-up block containing artificial reflectors(ID connected EDM notch) and semi-artificial cracks made from thermal fatigue. The automatic UT System is applied in the detection and the length sizing of the ID/OD on the tube and the J-groove weld area of the artificial reflectors and results of the detection and the sizing are compared respectively. Also, the developed automatic UT system is successfully accomplished to inspect the heater sleeve and the J-groove weld area on the pressurizer for the detection of PWSCC.

한울 3호기 주급수 배관 용접부 육안검사 경험 (Experience in Visual Testing of the Main Feed Water Piping Weld for Hanul Unit 3)

  • Nuclear power plant steam generator that is one of the main component has several thousands of thin tubes. And the steam generator tube is subject to damage because of the severe operation conditions such as the high temperature and pressure. Therefore periodic inspections are conducted to ensure the integrity of steam generator component. Hanul unit 3 also has been inspected in accordance with in-service inspection program and is scheduled to be replaced for exceeding the plugging rate which was recommended by manufacturer. During the steam generator replacement activity, we found several clustered porosity on inner surface of main feed water pipe. Additionally crack-like indications were found at weld interface between base material and weld of main feed water pipe. This paper describes the field experience and visual testing results for inner surface of main feed water pipes. The destructive test result had shown that these indications were porosities which were caused by manufacturing process not by operation service.

  • This paper discusses the application of infra-red thermography in monitoring the robotic arc welding process, and it's potential for weld bead dimension and seam tracking control. Thermal images illustrating weld pool formation dynamics and heat distribution phenomena are digitized and their characteristics are measured. At each sampling point the maximum depth of penetration is recorded together with additional information regarding weld bead placement in relation to the seam location. Deficiencies such as incomplete penetration and lack of side wall fusion are readily identified and can be remained during the process. The technique can help an increase in productivity and weld quality by minimizing the amount of post process rework and inspection efforts needed otherwise.

비전센서를 이용한 다층 용접선 추적 시스템 (The Multipass Joint Tracking System by Vision Sensor)

  • Welding fabrication invariantly involves three district sequential steps: preparation, actual process execution and post-weld inspection. One of the major problems in automating these steps and developing autonomous welding system is the lack of proper sensing strategies. Conventionally, machine vision is used in robotic arc welding only for the correction of pre-taught welding paths in single pass. However, in this paper, multipass tracking more than single pass tracking is performed by conventional seam tracking algorithm and developed one. And tracking performances of two algorithm are compared in multipass tracking. As the result, tracking performance in multi-pass welding shows superior conventional seam tracking algorithm to developed one.

강교량의 용접불량에 따른 안전도 분석 (A Safety Assessment of Weld Defective Steel Bridges)

  • Nondesructive test and structural analysis have been conducted to assess the safety of weld defective steel bridges in service. In the nondestructive test, using the radioactive ray and ultrasonic, the defective welding patterns in the steel bridges are identified. A major defective welding pattern is identified as the lack of welding area due to the insufficient welding penetration. By considering the welding defect in the above, structural analysis is conducted to evaluate the influence of welding defect on the safety of steel bridges. The results indicate that, due to the insufficient welding penetration, the stress obtained in the analysis is over the allowable fatigue stress level, and its influence on safety of the bridges is significant.

  • 오스테나이트계 스테인리스강은 우수한 내식성, 내구성 및 내화성을 지닌다. 특히, 오스테나이트계 스테인리스강중의 대표인 STS304에 비해 저탄소를 함유하고 있는 STS304L은 현장용접 후 별도의 열처리 없이 높은 내입계부식성능을 지니고 있어 용접후 내입계 부식이 우려되는 부재 접합에 적용할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 티그(TIG)용접으로 필릿 용접된 STS304L 용접접합부의 용접재(용착금속부) 내력과 파단 메카니즘을 조사하고자 한다. 주요변수인 하중방향에 대한 용접선의 배치에 따라 TFW(하중직각방향 용접), LFW(하중방향용접), FW(하중방향용접과 하중직각방향 용접조합)시리즈의 실험체를 제작하여 인장실험을 실시하였고, 각각 인장파단,전단파단, 블록전단파단(인장파단과 전단파단의 조합)이 발생하였다. 동일 용접길이에 대해 TFW 시리즈의 접합부가 가장 높은 내력을 나타났으며, 현행기준식(KBC2016/AISC2010)과 기존 연구자의 식에 의한 예측내력과 비교한 결과, TFW와 LFW접합부는 과소평가되었고 FW실험체는 과대평가되었다. 실제 파단 위험단면과 블록전단파단 메카니즘을 고려한 내력식을 제안하였다.

횡파 위상배열 초음파 탐촉자 설계 및 성능 평가 (Design and Performance Evaluation of Shear Wave Phased Array Ultrasonic Transducer)

  • 일반적으로 위상배열 초음파검사 기법을 이용한 배관 용접부검사에서는 높은 검사 각도를 효과적으로 발생하기 위하여 ��지를 사용하게 된다. 그러나 용접부 또는 접근이 제한된 부위에 대한 검사는 위상 배열 초음파 탐촉자에 ��지를 부착하게 되면 ��지의 전단 길이로 인하여 검사체적을 포함하지 못하는 등의 문제점이 발생하게 된다. 따라서 ��지를 사용하지 않고 높은 검사 각도를 발생할 수 있는 횡파 위상배열 초음파 탐촉자를 적용해야 할 필요성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 굴절각도가 높은 횡파를 발생할 수 있는 위상배열 초음파 탐촉자를 설계하고 제작하여 다양한 깊이의 EDM 노치가 가공된 시험편에서 결함이 정확하게 검출되고 평가될 수 있는 지를 확인하였다. 결과적으로 본 연구에서 설계된 횡파 위상배열 초음파 탐촉자는 다양한 깊이의 결함을 검출하고 신뢰성 있는 정밀도를 나타내었으므로 향후 접근제한이 예상되는 발전설비 구조물의 검사에 적용된다면 효과적인 검사 결과를 보여줄 것으로 기대된다.

퍼지 알고리즘을 이용한 저항 점 용접의 실시간 품질 평가 기술 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study of Real-Time Weldability Estimation of Resistance Spot Welding using Fuzzy Algorithm)

  • The resistance spot welding process has been used for joining the sheet metal in automotive engineering. In the resistance spot welding, the weld quality is very important, because the quality of weld is one of the most important factors to the automobile quality. The size of he molten nugget has been utilized to estimate the weld quality. However, it is not easy to find the weld defects. For weldability estimation, we have to use the nondestructive method such as X-ray or ultrasonic inspection. But these kinds of approaches are not suitable for detecting the defects in real time. The purpose of this study is to develop the real time monitoring of the weld quality in the resistance spot welding. Obtained data were used to estimate weldability using fuzzy algorithm. It is sound that this monitoring and estimation system can be useful to improve the weld quality in the resistance spot welding process and it is possible to estimate the weldability in real time.

Inspection System of Welding Bead and Chamfer by means of Laser Vision

  • An Inspection system, composed of sensor head and controller, is presented which is a 3-D laser vision system using principles of optical triangulation for weld quality and chamfer quality. The sensor head id composed of laser diode, micro CCD camera, filter and several optical components. This systems can be used in welding bead and undercut inspection and chamfer quality inspection as well. It is mech more convenient to use and the inspection time is to be greatly shortened compared with conventional inspection method. Furthermore, data saved in controller can be used for statistics afterwards. This system has been begin used in Koje Shipyard of Samsung Heavy Industries and the need is being increased.
