사출 성형 시 수지온도와 웰드품질과의 관계 (Realation of Injection Temperature and Weld-quality in Injection Molding)

  • The injection molding is used in more than 70% of total production of plastic products. Weld line in injection molded part is one of the defects in injection molding process. Weld line deteriorates not only appearance quality but also mechanical property. In this study, tensile strength about material such as ABS, PP, PA and PS was tested. as the results, the first result appears that weld's strength retention ratio's are 0.90, 0.84, 0.85, 0.76 and the second result apeears that weld depth decrease as processing temperature increased.

회전아크를 이용한 수평필릿 용접에 관한 연구 (I) - 공정변수와 용접비드형상의 관계 - (A Study on Horizontal Fillet Welding by Using Rotating Arc (I) - Relation Between Welding Parameters and Weld Bead Shape)

  • The high-speed rotating arc process forms a flat bead surface with decreased penetration depth because the molten droplets are deflected by centrifugal force. Therefore the rotating arc welding for horizontal fillet welding increases the leg length with the increase of rotation frequency and prevents the deflection of weld bead and overlap. In this study, the relationship between the welding parameters and the weld bead shape - leg length and undercut - are investigated experimentally. Consequently, the weld quality could be improved by rotating arc welding, and sound weld bead was achieved when applied to horizontal fillet welding with 4mm gap by avoiding the undercut which is inevitable for the conventional GMA welding methods.

자유표면변형을 고려한 저에너지밀도 레이저 용접공정 해석 (A study of low-power density laser welding process with evolution of free surface)

  • In this study, numerical investigation has been performed on the evolution of weld pool geometry with moving free surface during low-energy density laser welding process. The free surface elevates near the weld pool edge if ${\partial}{\sigma}/dT$ is dominantly negative. On the contrary, the free surface rise at the center of weld pool in case of mainly positive ${\partial}{\sigma}/dT$. The predicted weld pool width and depth with moving free surface are 5∼15%$5{\sim}15%$ greater than those with flat weld pool surface. It is considered that weld pool surface oscillation during melting process augments convective heat transfer rate in the weld pool.

고장력 강재의 전기저항 용접부 열처리 특성 및 기술에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Heat Treated ERW Weld Seam and the Technology of Seam Annealing)

  • To fine seam annealer capacity of through thickness seam annealing in terms of through thickness microstructure change with increased toughness and elongation leaving heat trace on it, high strength steel pipes of ERW with different thickness were tested in different seam annealing temperature measured on the outer surface of pipes. Annealing temperature and microstructure of the weld seam were changed through applied seam annealing condition. Toughness and tensile test with hardness and microstructure analysis were done on the annealed weld seam to fine its characteristics as a primary step and annealing characteristics according to different seam annealing condition. Through a study of annealed ERW weld seam characteristics and seam annealing technology, amount of electric power should apply in decreased manner to arranged inductors of annealer in the order of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, so on for proper seam annealing. For example of 15.4mm thick and 610mm outside diameter pipe, applied power for proper seam annealing is 600 -650kw at 1st inductor, 450 - 500kw at 2nd inductor, 200-250 kw at 3rd inductor of annealer during 10 - 12M/minute moving speed of pipe. Also, the penetration depth of heat trace along the thickness direction of weld during seam annealing can be estimated through the equation 17mm/kv$\times$voltage(kv) with the microstructure and hardness analysis of thick weld seam as well as study of seam annealing and comparison of cooling condition to CCT diagram of low carbon high strength steel. From this result, the difference between the technological applicability of full annealing condition based on phase diagram and full penetration of heat trace based on CCT diagram along the thickness of weld seam is discussed.

  • Effect of a flux composition on weld metal toughness in submerged arc welding with 60kgf/$\textrm{mm}^2$ grade C-Mo type wires was investigated and interpreted in terms of weld metal microstructure and hardenability. Flux workability was also studied by characterizing a weld bead profile. Compared to other weld metals, .weld metal used alumina basic flux with nickel showed lowest oxygen content, highest hardenability and the most acicular ferrite. The highest impact toughness of that weld metal, however, was attributed to the tough matrix due to the nickel rather than to the larger amount of acicular ferrite. Manganese silicate flux had better workability than alumina basic flux, showing broader welding conditions resulting in a depth-to-width ratio of 0.5. The composition of oxides in the weld metal was dependent on the flux composition, showing MnO-SiO$_2$-TiO in manganese silicate flux and MnO-SiO$_2$-Al$_2$O$_3$-TiO in alumina basic flux. MnO-SiO$_2$composition in both oxides was similar to a tephroite.

강용접부의 표면균열 성장거동에 관한 연구 1

  • Generally, as the welded region of weld structures has the incomplete bead and welded deposit which are able to behave like the surface cracks occasinally, there is a high possibility that the fatigue fracture of the weld structures is due to the surface cracks on the wlded region. This study was done to investigate the effects of post weld heat treatment (PWHT) on the fatigue behaviors of the surface crack of the heat affected zone (HAZ) for the multi-pass welds under the repetitive pure bending moment. The obtained results are summarized as follows : 1. The crack grows to the depth direction initially as the number of cylces increase, the amount of crack length is increased for the surface dir3ction and cive versa for the depth direction. 2. The fatigue life is increased in a order of as weld, PWHT specimens and parent. 3. As the number of cycles increase, the crack length is increased to th surface direction. The increase of the depth length is blunted at the center of specimen thickness. 4. The fatigue crack growth of PWHT specimens to the surface direction is dependent upon the holding time and applied stress during PWHT. In order words, the crack growth rate decreases with the holding time and increases with the applied stress during PWHT. 5. As the crack grows, the aspect formed in the course of crack propagation approaches to semicircle for parent and ellipse with the largest semidiameter for PWHT ($1/4hr, 15kgf/mm^2$) 6. At depth direction, it is difficult to apply to the paris' equation because of the scattered data between the crack growth rate and the stress intensity factor range.

후판 Al 6061합금의 전자빔용접 특성 평가 (The Characteristic Evaluation of Electron Beam Welding for Al 6061 alloy with thick-thickness plate)

  • For the aluminum material of the thick-thickness more than 100mm Penetration depth Electron beam welding is effectively applicable with a characteristic of high energy intensity. But Al 6061 alloy has high crack sensitivity due to minor alloys, which are silicon, magnesium, copper etc. With a sample block of 135mm thickness EBW test was performed in vertical position. As tensile strength has $210{\sim}220N/mm^2$ with weld area broken. Bend test shows low ductility with fracture of partly specimens. Chemical contents of alloys show no difference between weld and base metal. Defect in middle weld area figures out typical hot crack due to low melting materials. Micro structure of weld area has some difference compare to HAZ and base metal. As a result of EBW test for Al 6061 alloy, it shows that weld defect could be occurred even though establishing of optimum weld parameter condition.

  • In this study, The mean weld current is used to correct depth direction, and weight-value, specially devised to check right-left deviation by placing more weight on the left- and right-most part of weld current during weaving, to correct weaving direction. The methodology of “design of experiments” was introduced to find out dorminant weld parameters affecting these for values.

  • The potential advantages of the hybrid welding process are improved weld penetration, enhanced gap tolerance, control of weld metal composition, and improved weld quality in comparison to laser or arc welding. Especially, the deep penetration of hybrid welding is very attractive in welding of thick plates. In this study, therefore, the influence of arc power in hybrid welding on detailed bead dimensions at different laser power levels was investigated.

Neural Network 알고리즘을 이용한 용접공정제어 (The Welding Process Control Using Neural Network Algorithm)

  • A CCD camera with a laser stripe was applied to realize the automatic weld seam tracking in GMAW. It takes relatively long time to process image on-line control using the basic Hough transformation, but it has a tendency of robustness over the noises such as spatter and arc tight. For this reason, it was complemented with adaptive Hough transformation to have an on-line processing ability for scanning specific weld points. The adaptive Hough transformation was used to extract laser stripes and to obtain specific weld points. The 3-dimensional information obtained from the vision system made it possible to generate the weld torch path and to obtain the information such as width and depth of weld line. In this study, a neural network based on the generalized delta rule algorithm was adapted for the process control of GMA, such as welding speed, arc voltage and wire feeding speed.
