This study compared and analyzed weighted network centrality measures supported by Opsahl's tnet and Lee's WNET, which are free softwares for weighted network analysis. Three node centrality measures including weighted degree, weighted closeness, and weighted betweenness are supported by tnet, and four node centrality measures including nearest neighbor centrality, mean association, mean profile association, triangle betweenness centrality are supported by WNET. An experimental analysis carried out on artificial network data showed tnet's high sensitiveness on linear transformations of link weights, however, WNET's centrality measures were insensitive to linear transformations. Seven centrality measures from both tools, tnet and WNET, were calculated on six real network datasets. The results showed the characteristics of weighted network centrality measures of tnet and WNET, and the relationships between them were also discussed.

In this note we examine the effects on subnormality of adding a new weight or changing some weights for a given subnormal weighted shift. We consider a subnormal weighted shift with a positive point mass at the origin by means of continuous functions. Finally, we introduce some methods for evaluating point mass at the origin about moment measures associated with weighted shifts.

Most metadata quality measurement employ simple techniques by counting error records. This study presents a new quantitative measurement of metadata quality using advanced weighting schemes in order to overcome the limitations of exiting measurement techniques. Entropy, user tasks, and usage statistics were used to calculate the weights. Integrated weights were presented by combining these weights and were applied to actual journal article metadata. Entropy weights were found to reflect the characteristics of the data itself. User tasks presented the required metadata elements to solve user's information need. Integrated weights showed balanced measures without being affected by the influence of error elements, This finding indicates the new method being suitable for quantitative measurement of metadata quality.

Manufacturing is fast entering a new age of industrial excellence that is being called "Agile Manufacturing." The goal of Agile Manufacturing is to link customers, suppliers, and the manufacturing system into a super-efficient confederation to produce a variety of products quickly and at a low cost. In order to improve the quality of the study of production input control(PIC) in a job shop manufacturing system by reducing the significant gap between research models and models of actual manufacturing systems, the previous line of research on PICs in a job shop manufacturing system is extended by integrating customers and suppliers with the manufacturing system. Then, a set of measures is developed to evaluate PICs, measures that reflect concerns of customers and suppliers as well as concerns of the manufacturer. Also, a weighted overall measure (with various cases to represent different possible weights of manufacturer's emphasis on the performance measures) is used to synthesize all the performance measures. Then, for each case, various existing PICs are evaluated in combination with various priority dispatching rules(PDRs).
This study focuses on the application of multi-criteria performance measures based on the concept of equifinality to the calibration of the rainfall-runoff model TOPMODEL in a small deciduous forest catchment. The performance of each parameter set was evaluated by six performance measures, individually, and each set was identified as a behavioral or non-behavioral parameter set by a given behavioral acceptance threshold. Many behavioral parameter sets were scattered throughout the parameter space, and the range of model behavior and the sensitivity for each parameter varied considerably between the different performance measures. Sensitivity was very high in some parameters, and varied depending on the kind of performance measure as well. Compatibilities of behavioral parameter sets between different performance measures also varied, and very few parameter sets were selected to be used in making god predictions for all performance measures. Since different behavioral parameter sets with different likelihood weights were obtained for each performance measure, the decision on which performance measure to be used may be very important to achieve the goal of study. Therefore, one or more suitable performance measures should be selected depending on the environment and the goal of a study, and this may lead to decrease model uncertainty.

Recently, some bibliometric researchers tried to use the centrality analysis methods and the centrality measures which are standard tools in social network analysis. However the traditional centrality measures originated from social network analysis could not deal with weighted networks such as co-citation networks. In this study. new centrality measures for analyzing bibliometric networks with link weights are suggested and applied to three real network data, including an author co-citation network, a co-word network, and a website co-link network. The results of centrality analyses in these three cases can be regarded as Promising the usefulness of suggested centrality measures, especially in analyzing the Position and influence of each node in a bibliometric network.
The landslide disaster damage has been increased by mountain development, leading to construction of educational facilities, medical facilities, petty industrial facilities, and large housing complexes. Therefore, effective regulation is required as an effort in urban planning solutions. For suggesting specific mitigation strategies on urban landslide, this study aims to define evaluation criteria for urban planning management of debris-flow disaster. AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), one of the multiple criterion decision making methods, was utilized in this study. This study makes use of 16 sub-criteria under the framework of hazard, exposure, and vulnerability, and well-planned expert survey measures their weights. The weights are also applied to evaluate each grid in urban space (min $10{\times}10m$) and classify it with red, orange, yellow, or green grade so that areas at higher risk are clearly identified. This study concludes that the suggested method is useful to support a strategies for urban planning management of debris-flow disaster, particularly in a GIS base.

This tutorial paper has been written for biologists, physicians or beginners in fuzzy sets theory and applications. This field is introduced in the framework of medical diagnosis problems. The paper describes and illustrates with practical examples, a general methodology of special interest in the processing of borderline cases, that allows a graded assignment of diagnoses to patients. A pattern of medical knowledge consists of a tableau with linguistic entries or of fuzzy propositions. Relationships between symptoms and diagnoses are interpreted as labels of fuzzy sets. It is shown how possibility measures (soft matching) can be used and combined to derive diagnoses after measurements on collected data. The concepts and methods are illustrated in a biomedical application on inflammatory protein variations. In the case of poor diagnostic classifications, it is introduced appropriate ponderations, acting on the characterizations of proteins, in order to decrease their relative influence. As a consequence, when pattern matching is achieved, the final ranking of inflammatory syndromes assigned to a given patient might change to better fit the actual classification. Defuzzification of results (i.e. diagnostic groups assigned to patients) is performed as a non fuzzy sets partition issued from a "separating power", and not as the center of gravity method commonly employed in fuzzy control. It is then introduced a model of fuzzy connectionist expert system, in which an artificial neural network is designed to build the knowledge base of an expert system, from training examples (this model can also be used for specifications of rules in fuzzy logic control). Two types of weights are associated with the connections: primary linguistic weights, interpreted as labels of fuzzy sets, and secondary numerical weights. Cell activation is computed through MIN-MAX fuzzy equations of the weights. Learning consists in finding the (numerical) weights and the network topology. This feed forward network is described and illustrated in the same biomedical domain as in the first part.
Purposes: Study purpose were to describe growth patterns of premature infants in weight, length and head circumference from birth to 40th week of corrected ages (CA) and to explore factors affecting patterns. Methods: A longitudinal descriptive study was conducted with 267 premature infants. They were categorized into 2 groups; GA group with measurements at birth and the CA group with measurements at CA, which was categorized into 3 groups (group 1-3) by WHO guideline for gestational age (GA) at birth. Results: GA group presented greater measures in all than CA group at same week of life. Among CA groups, group 3 showed the highest measurements, up to 37 weeks of life, though this disappeared at 38-40 weeks. Reversely, group 1 revealed the highest growth rates in all measures, followed by group 2 and group 3. Significant interaction was observed in all measures between week of life and any type of groups. Conclusions: Higher measures in GA group, as well group 3 among CA groups, supported the superiority of intra-uterine environment overriding quality of regimen from NICU. Regardless of growth acceleration, smaller infants remain smaller, indicating that intra-uterine thrifty phenotype may continue at least up to the 40th week of CA.

Qualitative management structure of construction companies in Korea are relatively inadequate in comparison with quantitative growth. To improve qualitative management structure, we need to make impartial performance measurement system which arouse participants responds. It is important to select and decide performance measurement index to company and participants. And it is also important to take the weights. For that, we figure out the weights of performance measurement with HSC by Kaplan & Norton.'1'o find out the characteristics of the weights which was classified according to size of the construction company, we analyse and compare with each weights. The result of this Paper will contribute to operate performance measurement system that make raise efficiency and maximize the performance of companies.
