Multi-Objective Design Optimization of Composite Stiffened Panel Using Response Surface Methodology

  • This study aims to develop efficient composite laminates for buckling load enhancement, interlaminar shear stress minimization, and weight reduction. This goal is achieved through cover-skin lay-ups around skins and stiffeners, which amplify bending stiffness and defer delamination by means of effective stress distribution. The design problem is formulated as multi-objective optimization that maximizes buckling load capability while minimizing both maximum out-of-plane shear stress and panel weight. For efficient optimization, response surface methodology is employed for buckling load, two out-of-plane shear stresses, and panel weight with respect to one ply thickness, six fiber orientations of a skin, and four stiffener heights. Numerical results show that skin-covered composite stiffened panels can be devised for maximum buckling load and minimum interlaminar shear stresses under compressive load. In addition, the effects of different material properties are investigated and compared. The obtained results reveal that the composite stiffened panel with Kevlar material is the most effective design.

자동차 클러치 페달 암의 무게 최소화를 위한 형상 최적설계 (Shape Optimal Design to Minimize the Weight of the Pedal Arm of an Automotive Clutch)

  • Optimal thickness and shape of the pedal arm of an automotive clutch is determined, using the numerical optimization technique, by solving the size and shape optimization problems to minimize its weight. For the optimization problems, two cases of stress and displacement constraints are considered: one from the vertical, and the other from the transverse stiffness test condition. The result of the transverse case is shown to be more conservative than that from the vertical case, being determined as the final optimum.

개미군락 최적화 알고리즘을 이용한 진동수 구속조건을 가진 트러스구조물의 크기최적화 (Truss Size Optimization with Frequency Constraints using ACO Algorithm)

  • Ant colony optimization(ACO) technique is utilized in truss size optimization with frequency constraints. Total weight of truss to be minimized is considered as the objective function and multiple natural frequencies are adopted as constraints. The modified traveling salesman problem(TSP) is adopted and total length of the TSP tour is interpreted as the weight of the structure. The present ACO-based design optimization procedure uses discrete design variables and the penalty function is introduced to enforce design constraints during optimization process. Three numerical examples are carried out to verify the capability of ACO in truss optimization with frequency constraints. From numerical results, the present ACO is a very effective way of finding optimum design of truss structures in free vibration. Finally, we provide the present numerical results as future reference solutions.

OLED 증착용 마스크 프레임의 무게 최소화를 위한 형상최적설계 (Shape Optimal Design to Minimize the Weight of a Mask-Frame for OLED Vapor Deposition)

  • 본 연구는 FMM 방식을 사용하는 OLED 디스플레이의 증착공정에서 사용되는 마스크 프레임의 무게를 최소화하기 위한 형상최적설계를 다루었다. 위상최적화 해석을 수행하였으며 그 결과를 토대로 프레임의 가로 및 세로변에 슬롯을 삽입함으로써 강성을 증가시키면서 무게를 저감시킬 수 있는 설계 개념을 도출하였다. 프레임의 형상설계변수를 정의하고 형상최적설계 문제를 정립하여 수치적 최적화를 수행하였다. 프레임의 설계기준인 최대 변위의 제약조건을 만족하면서 무게가 최소인 프레임의 최적형상을 성공적으로 구하였으며, 최적설계된 프레임의 무게는 117.6 kg으로 최초설계안 256 kg 대비 138.4 kg(54.1%)가 감소된 결과를 얻었다.

A Study on Perceived Weight, Eating Habits, and Unhealthy Weight Control Behavior in Korean Adolescents

  • This study compared actual weight with perceived weight, described the prevalence of unhealthy weight control behavior, determined the differences in psychological and personal variables between participants that reported unhealthy weight control behavior and those who did not, and examined the relationship of eating habits to unhealthy weight control behavior for Korean adolescents. The study population consisted of a nationally representative sample of middle and high school students who completed the Fifth Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey (KYRBWS): Fifth in 2009. Among the 75,066 participants of KYRBWS, 35,473 (n = 18,851 girls and 16,622 boys) were eligible for a research focused on unhealthy weight control behavior. The results of this research were as follows: First, there were considerable discrepancies (45.1% of girls and 32.8% of boys) between the perceived weight and the actual weight. Second, overall, unhealthy weight control behavior was more prevalent in girls and fasting was the most commonly reported behavior. Third, participants that reported unhealthy weight control behavior scored significantly lower on scaled measures of happiness, health, academic achievement, and economic status; in addition, they scored higher on stress measures. Fourth, girls and boys shared common protective factors of having breakfast and vegetables more often, perceiving their weight as underweight rather than overweight, and having a correct weight conception. Protective factors unique to girls were having lunch and dinner more often. Girls and boys shared common risk factors of the consumption of soda, fast food, instant noodles, and snacks more often, while consumption of fruit more often was a risk factor only for girls. The improvement of protective factors and minimization of risk factors through Home Economics classes (and other classes relevant to health) may mitigate unhealthy weight control behavior of adolescents.

적응적 가중치 함수를 이용한 모션 벡터의 필터링 (Filtering Motion Vectors using an Adaptive Weight Function)

  • 본 논문에서는 적응적 가중치 함수를 이용하여 블록 단위의 모션 벡터를 필터링하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법에서는 먼저 인접한 영상을 받아 들여 가변적 크기의 블록 정합 방법을 이용하여 모션 벡터를 추출한다. 그리고 추출된 모션 벡터를 강건 예측에 적용하여 아웃라이어(outlier)를 제거함으로써 강건 예측에서 사용하는 동작 모델에 근접한 모션 벡터만을 추출한다. 제안된 적응적 강건 예측은 연속적인 시그모이드 가중치 함수를 사용하여 정상 자료와 아웃라이어의 소속 정도를 보다 효과적으로 표현한다. 또한, 최소화 기법의 반복 단계에서 잔여에러가 감소함에 따라 점진적으로 시그모이드 가중치 함수를 조율함으로써 정상 자료와 아웃라이어를 보다 유연하게 분리한다. 실험에서는 카메라의 동작이 포함된 비디오 데이타를 입력 받아 성능을 비교 분석함으로써 제안한 방법의 우수함을 보인다.

  • The Object of this study is to find the relations between LQR and eigenstructure assignment regulator. Algorithms for computing weighting matrices are proposed for the case that (i) closed-loop eigenvalues are specified, and (ii) closed-loop gain matrix is given. We also present a new eigenstructure assignment algorithm that minimizes a linear quadratic performance index.

  • This paper presents an optimum design of a linear induction motor(LIM) using genetic algorithm(GA). Sequential unconstrained minimization technique(SUMT) is used to transform the nonlinear optimization with constraints to a simple unconstrained problem. The objective functions of LIM such as trust, weight are optimized and the result was applied to the design of linear induction pump.

개선소성힌지해석과 SUMT를 이용한 평면 강골조의 연속최적설계 (Optimum Design of Plane Steel Frame Structures Using Refined Plastic Hinge Analysis and SUMT)

  • 본 연구에서는 다제약 설계변수를 갖는 비선형 문제를 무제약 최소화 문제로 전환하는 축차무제약 최소화기법(SUMT)과 효과적인 강골조의 2차비탄성해석 방법 중의 하나인 개선소성힌지해석 방법을 접목시킨 평면 강골조의 연속최적설계 모델 및 프로그램을 개발하였다. 최적설계를 위한 목적함수로는 강골조물을 구성하는 모든 부재의 중량 합을, 제약조건으로는 AISC-LRFD의 휨강도, 전단강도, 압축 및 인장강도, 국부좌굴 및 부재좌굴, 그리고 단면형상 등에 관한 설계기준을 사용하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 연속최적설계 모델을 이용하여 여러 평면 강골조의 최적설계를 수행하였으며, 최적설계 견과로부터 개발한 연속최적설계 모델의 사용성, 타당성, 효율성 및 경제성 등을 검토하였다.

도립진자형 이족보행로봇의 유연한 궤적 생성 (A Smooth Trajectory Generation for an Inverted Pendulum Type Biped Robot)

  • This paper is concerned with smooth trajectory generation of biped robot which has inverted pendulum type balancing weight. Genetic algorithm is used to generate the trajectory of the leg and balancing weight. Balancing trajectory can be determined by solving the second order differential equation under the condition that the reference ZMP (Zero moment point) is settled. Reference ZMP effect on gait pattern absolutely but the problem is how to determine the reference ZMP. Genetic algorithm can find optimal solution under the high order nonlinear situation. Optimal trajectory is generated when use genetic algorithm which has some genes and a fitness function. In this paper, minimization of balancing joints motion is used for the fitness function and set the weight factor of the two balancing joints at the fitness function. Inverted pendulum type balancing weight is very similar with human and this model can be used fur humanoid robot. Simulation results show ZMP trajectory and the walking experiment made on the real biped robot IWR-IV.
