Load master is authorized to be controlled all of loading stuffs for safety of flight such as passenger, baggage, cargo and e.t.c. There are many things are missed even though the weight and balance is the most important process. This study analyzes how the differences of C.G. by among ten load masters of each careers. This study is tested how load-master takes load-control by the respective result based on differences of each practical experiences, gender and a number of certification. In result, all of load masters set C.G. on the stability region. But the practical experience of load master is relative to set better C.G. for economical effectiveness of weight and balance control work.
A method of weight evaluation of the load-bearing structural elements of cars is presented and the weight ratio of the analysis model is investigated. Replacing the materials of floor elements of the car into the high-strength steel, a considerable weight-reduction of the model has been obtained. The 1500cc model is selected for the present study and the stick model analysis is employed for the structural analysis. The torsional stiffness of the weight-reduced model is also evaluated and it is shown it has a reasonable rigidity. The ratio of the weight of the load-bearing structural elements to the unladen vehicle weight of cars is about 0.12for the 1500cc model and the weight-reduction of this study can be obtained around 17% of the weight of the load-bearing structural elements.
The resistance of crowd pressure is an important performance to be influential on safety of facility users among performances required for light weight walls of public facilities. This study has empirically evaluated the estimation of size of crowd pressure to be applied to a wall of structure. For the load analysis test, the force plate with stiffness of 28 kN/cm was designed and manufactured. For inspectors, 15 males in the age of 20s were selected. The action of putting load was set as instantaneous push of plate and continuous push. As the load was increased linearly from the weight of inspector, the size of load was indicated as the load ratio. In case of instantaneous force, about 1.18 times the weight of pushing personnel was acted as a load. In case of continuous push, about 0.80 times the weight of pushing personnel was acted as a load.
This study aims to examine changes from differences in the lumbar scoliosis angle and iliac crest height due to abnormal and habitual posture shown in unilateral weight load at standing posture and suggest data for preventing and treating lumbago. The subjects of this study are 16 lumbago patients between twenties and forties with chronic lumbago over six months, but without neurological symptoms. As a result of photographing front and back with three conditions such as weight load on both sides and left or right unilateral weight load posture in order to examine changes of lumbar scoliosis and iliac crest according to changes of posture at unilateral weight load, while scoliosis angle and iliac crest height by habitual unilateral support were increased, those by opposite support were decreased. In conclusion, it was found that habitual unilateral weight load may cause continuous distortion of spinal angle and change of iliac crest height and these may be a factor of lumbago. Therefore, if habitual unilateral weight load state is kept continuously, distortion of lumbar angle and iliac crest height may be greater and common efforts to change habitual unilateral weight load are needed.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the changing plantar foot pressure by the backpack load of 0, 10, 15, and 20% of their body weight while level walking in flat foot and so to recommend suitable backpack weight limitations for flat foot subjects. Method : 14 young flat foot subjects($24.29{\pm}2.16yrs$) participated in this study. the subjects were assigned to carry backpack load and there was four level walking modes : (1) unloaded walking(0%), (2) 10% body weight(BW) load, (3) 15% BW load and (4) 20% BW load. Repeated ANOVA was used to compare each region data of foot according to different backpack weight. Results : As backpack load became increased, the contact area of midfoot was significantly increased, and contact area of forefoot and rearfoot were significantly decreased. maximum pressure at each region during walking tended to be greater as the load increased, but a significant difference was found only for the heel medial and lateral regions Conclusion : Based on this data, the weight of backpack could influenced structure and function of the foot in flat foot.
In Korea, fruit grading has been mainly done manually, and manual grading depends on human sense. Thus it is subjected to human error and is not always as consistent as would be desired. Therefore, a study on the development of fruit grader was initiated to improve the consistency of fruit grading. The sensitivity for fruit weight of the conventional spring type weight grader has a tendency to decrease by physical characteristics of spring which is used as a weight sensing unit. This study was carried out to develop weight measuring device for establishing the base of weight sensing unit of electronic weight grader. This device consists of a weight sensor using load cell, data acquisition system, and a microcomputer containing program to calculate fruit weight. The weight measuring device using load cell was developed to increase sensitivity of fruit weight. The result of this study showed that the weight sensing unit of electronic weight grader contributed to the improvement of performance of weight measuring device.
Purpose: This study observed the activity of trunk and lower limb muscles during a modified bridging exercise with various weight loads. Methods: The participants in this study consisted of 15 male adults. The muscle activity of the elector spinae, rectus abdominis, gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, vastus medialis, vastus lateralis, tibialis anterior, and soleus muscles was measured with an EMG-8 system during a modified bridging exercise performed with various weight loads (indicated as percentage of body weight). Differences in muscle activity during the bridging exercise according to the weight load applied were analyzed using a one-way ANOVA, and post hoc analysis was performed using LSD. Statistical significance was accepted at a p-level of 0.05. Results: When the subjects performed the modified bridging exercise with various weight loads, the muscle activity of the gluteus maximus and vastus medialis peaked at a load of 0.5%. The activity of the gluteus medius showed a remarkable difference when the modified bridging exercise was performed at loads of 0% and 0.5%, 0% and 1%. In addition, the activity of the vastus medialis showed a remarkable difference between modified bridging exercises performed at a load of 0% and that performed at a load of 0.5%. Conclusion: The results suggest that performing modified bridging exercises with a load of 0.5% of body weight results in significant differences in the activity of the gluteus medius and vastus medialis muscles. Thus, it is suggested that performing the modified bridging exercise at 0.5% of body weight may selectively strengthen the gluteus medius and vastus medialis muscles.
Purpose: A falling-type weight sorter equipped with a load cell was developed to sort lightweight dried persimmons. The performance of the sorter was also evaluated. Methods: The electronic weight sorter for dried persimmon comprises a feeder part, a weight-measurement part, an indicator part, a carrier cup, a discharging part, and a driving part. The weight setting and zero-point adjustment are performed digitally for the convenience of users. For the experimental trials, 228 rubber-clay specimens (representative of dried persimmons) in the weight range of 24.73~99.56 g were manufactured for use in experiments to evaluate the performance of the sorter. Results: The average error of the weight measurements from three experimental trials was 1.655%, with a bias of -0.492 g, a root-mean-square error (RMSE) of ${\pm}0.808g$, and a coefficient of determination ($R^2$ ) of 0.997. Conclusions: The load-cell-based electronic dried-persimmon weight sorter developed in this study facilitates effective, precise, and convenient sorting of dried persimmons.
A new metallic sandwich panel with a quasi-Kagome truss core subjected to bending load has been analyzed. First, equations of the failure loads corresponding to the eight failure modes are presented. Then, non-dimensional forms of the equations are derived as functions of three geometric variables, one material parameter (yield strain), one load index and one weight index. Failure maps are presented for a given weight index. By using the dimensionless forms of equations as the design constraints, two kinds of optimization are performed. One is based on the weight, that is, the objective function, namely, the dimensionless load is to be maximized for a given weight. Another is based on the load, that is, the dimensionless weight is to be minimized for a given load. The results of the two optimization processes are found to agree each other. The optimized geometric variables are derived as a function of given weights or failure loads. The performance of the quasi-Kagome truss as the core of a sandwich panel is evaluated by comparison with those of honeycomb cored and octet truss cored panels.
