  • For the purpose of developing 'Web-Based Nutritional Education Program', this study analyzed nutritional problems of junior/senior high school students and set appropriate instructional goals for nutritional education program. Survey questionnaires were distributed from October 21,2002 to October 26, 2002 to a total of 564 students at three junior high schools and five senior high schools located in Seoul. The total number of questionnaires collected and used in our study was 479, which is 84.9% of the total questionnaires distributed. According to the survey results, three student groups (male and female students at junior high schools and female students at senior high schools) had lower than an ideal body weight. In case of their Basal Metabolic Indices (BMI), the female students and junior high school students showed a tendency to be underweight, while the other three student groups were within the normal range. The result of the survey showed that all four groups of students showed a deficiency in nutrient intake of calories, calcium and thiamin when compared with Korean RDA. Particularly, in the case of the female students at senior high schools, the deficiency of iron intake was a problem. The survey about food attitudes and food habits of the students showed that the senior high school students had more problems when compared with their junior high school counterparts (p < .001). Therefore, the instructional goals of nutritional education program were set as follows: 1) To improve the level of understanding and the perception of junior and senior high school students about the importance of a dietary lifestyle. 2) To change food attitudes and nutritional knowledge related to individual dietary 1ifestyle, so as to maintain good health through the enhancement of the students' physical activities. We found out that it is critically important to factor in the existing problems of food attitudes and food habits, as well as nutrient intake among junior and senor high school students when setting objectives for nutritional education programs. • The Center for Children's Foodservice Management periodically visited children's foodservice facilities for hygiene, safety and nutrition management, and the 'HSQ (Hygiene Safety Quotient) and NQ (Nutrition Quotient) Management Web & App Program' was developed and applied to improve the health, safety, and nutrition management status of children's foodservice facilities. The HSQ is a comprehensive hygiene and safety index consisting of six categories from the hygiene and safety checklist for children's foodservice facilities provided by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. The NQ is a nutrition index for foodservice facilities consisting of five categories from the nutrition checklist. First, this program can be used to efficiently understand the actual conditions of children's foodservice. Foodservice facilities are provided with the result report prepared by the center without restrictions on time or place. Second, it can be used as "a channel for comfortable communication with foodservice facilities". Foodservice facilities are provided with a route where questions and resolutions can be communicated to the center. Third, it is easy to compare and review the results of foodservice facilities by institution and number of visits while downloading the results data at the same time, as the result report is written based on hygiene, safety, and nutrition visits. Through such programs, it is believed that standardized work and integrated management will improve the work efficiency of the center's employees. It is also thought that these programs will promote healthier life-styles in children by establishing a safe food environment for children's foodservice.

  • With the technological advances, the humans have made so much progress in the ease of living and now incorporating the use of sight, motion, sound, speech etc. for various application and software controls. In this paper, we have explored the project in which gestures plays a very significant role in the project. The topic of gesture control which has been researched a lot and is just getting evolved every day. We see the usage of computer vision in this project. The main objective that we achieved in this project is controlling the computer settings with hand gestures using computer vision. In this project we are creating a module which acts a volume controlling program in which we use hand gestures to control the computer system volume. We have included the use of OpenCV. This module is used in the implementation of hand gestures in computer controls. The module in execution uses the web camera of the computer to record the images or videos and then processes them to find the needed information and then based on the input, performs the action on the volume settings if that computer. The program has the functionality of increasing and decreasing the volume of the computer. The setup needed for the program execution is a web camera to record the input images and videos which will be given by the user. The program will perform gesture recognition with the help of OpenCV and python and its libraries and them it will recognize or identify the specified human gestures and use them to perform or carry out the changes in the device setting. The objective is to adjust the volume of a computer device without the need for physical interaction using a mouse or keyboard. OpenCV, a widely utilized tool for image processing and computer vision applications in this domain, enjoys extensive popularity. The OpenCV community consists of over 47,000 individuals, and as of a survey conducted in 2020, the estimated number of downloads exceeds 18 million.
