An Efficient Peer-to-Peer Web Caching Model with the Dynamic Participation of Peers (네트워크 동적 참여 기반의 효율적인 피어-투-피어 웹 캐슁 모델)

  • A peer-to-peer web caching has been studied recently as it can reduce the traffic converged on the server side and can support the traditional web caching model. Although the peer-to-peer web caching has the merit of having additional cache space from the local caches of peers without additional infrastructure, several constraints such as dynamic participation and local caching strategy caused by the autonomy of peers in peer-to-peer networks nay limit the performance of the peer-to-peer web caching. To overcome these limitations, we propose an efficient directory-based peer-to-peer web caching system under dynamic participation of peers. In the proposed caching system, we present new peer selection and replica management schemes by introducing the concept of the object lifetime in P2P networks. We evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed system through trace-driven simulations with a web log dataset. Simulation results show that the proposed system has higher accuracy and fewer redirection failures than the conventional directory-based P2P web caching system in feasible peer-to-peer networks.

  • The web monitoring is a procedure to detect and monitor the change of a particular information from the web site. In this paper, we propose a monitoring system to survey the response time for the customers chi an internet shopping mall. This system we designed, decreases the network overload and guarantees the accuracy as well as the reliability of the information by using an interactive agent. This interactive agent we constructed, is written in Java and controlled by the high-level information such as the index or the robot. from the N web site, we extracted the web monitoring results of keyword "LCD Monitor" and verified our system's efficiency. The performance of the system is tested and the result is illustrated.

  • There has been a complaint that current editorial and refereeing system of the traditional journal systems has something to be desired due to long time lag between submission and publication, improper(unfair in some sense, because no communication is allowed between reviewers and authors) review of submitted papers sometimes, and so on. This paper introduces a Web-Based Paper Review Support System, called WebReview, The system helps to reduce the time lag and allows reviewers and authors to communicate anonymously to clarify the research results, if there is any ambiguity. WebReview is implemented in Java, using Oracle as an underlying DBMS, to capture interactions between users and the system.

  • Web mining is an emerging science of applying modem data mining technologies to the problem of extracting valid, comprehensible, and actionable information from large databases of web in e-Business environment and of using it to make crucial e-Business decisions. In this paper, we present the noble framework of data visualization system based on web mining for analyzing the characteristics of on-line customers in e-Business. We also propose the framework of forecasting system for providing the forecasting information of sales/purchase through the use of web mining based on artificial intelligence techniques such as back-propagation network, memory-based reasoning, and self-organizing map.

  • In this study, the Web Camera System is implementation and simulated on two different architectures. In the one architecture, a Web-server and Camera-server are implemented on the same system, and the system transfers motion picture which compressed to JPEG file to users on the WWW(World Wide Web). In the other architecture, the Web-server and Camera-server are implemented on different systems, and the motion picture is transferred from the Camera-server to Web-server, and finally to users. In order to compare system performance between two architecture, data traffic is measured and simulated in the unit of byte per second and frame per second.

  • This paper implemented the web service that converts general web page to the web page using the speech recognition and the web service consumer that provides speech recognition service for the web page. This system has the web service consumer, the web service provider that converts the web page and the web service provider that provides speech recognition. The web service provider that converts the web page analyzes general web page by using the regular expression and converts it to the speech-recognition web page. The speech recognizer is the web service providers that implemented in the previous study. As a result of experiment, we show that this system changes web page by analyzing tags and extracts hyperlink.

  • With the advance of information communication technology, specifically the Internet technology, most schools have developed their own Web sites for the communication of diverse parties such as students, their parents, teachers, and others. In spite of the wide spread of school Web sites, their bulletin board systems are usually developed under the Web-boards for developing ordinary sites without reflecting educational environments. The purpose of this research is to develop the Web-board system for schools, which can be applied to construct adaptive school Web sites. This Web-board system is designed to reflect the educational environments as well as the user characteristics under the idea of customization and optimization. The main advantage of this Web-board system is that it can allow easy access to the system through user-friendly interface, and also promote interactions among users through their personalized Web pages.

  • The amount of web traffic has increased as a result of the rapid growth of the use of web-based applications. In order to obtain valuable information from web logs, we need to develop systems that can support interactive, flexible, and efficient ways to analyze and handle large amounts of data. In this paper, we present CERES, a log-based, interactive web analytics system for backbone networks. Since CERES focuses on analyzing web log records generated from backbone networks, it is possible to perform a web analysis from the perspective of a network. CERES is designed for deployment in a server cluster using the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) as the underlying storage. We transform and store web log records from backbone networks into relations and then allow users to use a SQL-like language to analyze web log records in a flexible and interactive manner. In particular, we use the data cube technique to enable the efficient statistical analysis of web log. The system provides users a web-based, multi-modal user interface.

  • We evaluated structured web site contents construct method. The method for construction web contents was considered. The construction procedure is as follows. Elicit "user requirement" and the web management side needs. Mark a check where each line and row corresponds to clarify the relation between both in the matrix by which user requirements and the purposes are arranged in lines and rows. To understand the systematic feature of the web site itself, "grasping information" and "structuring" are necessary. We actually constructed web site contents of a theatrical company using this method. and we got the construction of existing web site contents of another theatrical company. We compared our constructed web site contents with the existing web site contents. Finally, we evaluated this method and testified that this method is useful.

  • Efficient using of web cache is becoming important factor that decide system management efficiency in web-Based system. Cache performance depends heavily on replacement algorithms, which dynamically select a suitable subset of objects for caching in a finite space. However, replacement algorithm on web cache has many differences than traditional replacement algorithm. In this paper, a web-caching algorithm is proposed for efficient operation of web base system. The algorithm is designed based on a divided scope that considered size reference characteristic and heterogeneity on web object. The performance of the algorithm is analyzed with an experiment. With the experiment results, the algorithm is compared with previous replacement algorithms, and its performance is confirmed ith an improvement of response speed.
