A Study on the Web based Modeling Methodology for Personalization Education System (맞춤형 교육 시스템 개발을 위한 웹 기반 모델링 방법에 관한 연구)

  • 현재 웹 상에서 진행되는 교육용 컨텐츠들은 날로 인기가 놀아지고 그에 부응하여 많은 교육용 웹 애플리케이션들이 만들어지고 있다. 그러나 증가되고 있는 컨텐츠 개발을 위한 기술과 도구들은 빠른 발전을 이루고 있는 반면 개발 프로세스에 대해서는 관심을 두지 않았다. 분석과 설계가 결핍된 상태에서 개발된 웹 애플리케이션은 품질 저하와 생산성 저하 등의 부정적인 파급효과를 가지게 된다. 따라서 교육용 웹 애플리케이션은 개발 초기에 적절한 모델링이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 소프트웨어 공학 기술을 컨텐츠 개발에 적용하는 접근 방법을 사용하여 웹 애플리케이션 설계를 돕는 메커니즘을 제공하고 웹 기반의 맞춤형 교육을 위한 컨텐츠 모델링 방법에 관하여 논의한다. 웹 애플리케이션의 구성요소의 기호와 의미를 정립하고 교육용 컨텐츠의 구조를 정의, 분석한 후 웹 기반 시스템 모델링을 위한 구조로 재정의 한다. 적절한 모델링 과정을 거쳐 교육용 웹 애플리케이션을 개발함으로써 교육용 웹 컨텐츠의 체계적인 개발 및 관리 지원이 가능하게 된다.

A Multimedia Recommender System Using User Playback Time (사용자의 재생 시간을 이용한 멀티미디어 추천 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose a multimedia recommender system using user's playback time. Proposed system collects multimedia content which is requested by user and its user‘s playback time, as web log data. The system predicts playback time.based preference level and related contents from collected transaction database by fuzzy association rule mining. Proposed method has a merit which sorts recommendation list according to preference without user’s custom preference data, and prevents a false preference. As an experimental result, we confirm that proposed system discovers useful rules and applies them to recommender system from a transaction which doesn‘t include custom preferences.

  • The emergence of ubiquitous computing environment will change the service architecture of business information systems such as Decision Support System(DSS), which will be a new application. Recent mobile DSSs allow the decision makers to be benefited from web and mobile technology. However, they seldom refer to context data, which are useful for proactive decision support. Meanwhile, ubiquitous applications so far provide restricted personalization service using context and preference of the user, that is, they do not fully make use of decision making capabilities. Hence, this paper aims to describe how the decision making capability and context-aware computing are jointly used to establish ubiquitous applications. To do so, an amended DSS paradigm: CKDDM(Context-Knowledge-Dialogue-Data-Model) is proposed in this paper. What will be considered for the future decision support systems when we regard ubiquitous computing technology as an inevitable impact that enforces the change of the way of making decisions are described. Under the CKDDM paradigm, a framework of ubiquitous decision support systems(ubiDSS) is addressed with the description of the subsystems within. To show the feasibility of ubiDSS, a prototype system, CAMA-myOpt(Context-Aware Multi Agent System-My Optimization) has been implemented as an illustrative example system.

  • Today the web-based learning management information systems are developed as forms of many ordered learning information systems acting up to the personal characteristics, but the previous systems have difficulty in their mutual working, maintaining, and repairing between the systems, because of their one-sided "push" method or reuse of the contents. Also they were not managed together having the dissimilar learning management systems each. Therefore, I made up for the weak points of the previous systems and embodied the international standard SCORM-based ordered learning management information systems. After adapting to sequencing contents, all systems are supplied; giving lectures, solving the problems, evaluating the learners and the function of successive personalization learning based on the result of the learner evaluation systems.

A Rating Range-based Prediction Method for Collaborative Filtering Systems (협력필터링 시스템을 위한 평가 등급 범위 기반의 예측방법)

  • Recommender systems, which predict and recommend items that may possibly draw users' interests, have been applied in various fields as e-commerce systems are widespread. Collaborative filtering, one of the major methodologies of recommender systems, recommends either items similar to those preferred by the user, or items preferred by the other similar user. Therefore, two problems determine its performance; one is correct estimation of similarity and the other is predicting the real rating of the recommended item. This study addresses the latter problem. Previous studies predict the real rating based on the mean of the ratings, but this study proposes a prediction based on the range of the ratings and investigates its performance through experiments. As a result, it is demonstrated that the proposed method improves the mean absolute error significantly, compared to the previous method.

  • The need for customized website design has been increased these days. There are two approaches for customizing website design. A Static/Selective approach is easily applied to website design, but is hard to provide a more refined customized service due to its lack of accumulation of customer data. In the Transparent/Adaptive approach, it is easy to apply an intrinsic value of customer, but without sufficient customer data, inappropriate customization is liable to occur. In this paper, directions such as "control of customer participation level", "collection of contextual information" and "development of filtering methods for design elements are suggested for the integrated use of these approaches. use of these approaches.

An Investigation of Affecting Factors on Consumers' Perceived Value and Attitude towards Advertising in Smart Signage (스마트 사이니지 광고에 대한 소비자의 지각된 가치 및 태도에 영향을 미치는 요인 연구)

  • Currently, smart signage as a new kind of advertisement media has been widely used and has had a significant effect on consumers. In this study, we examine the impact on the attitude towards smart signage advertisement based on the Ducoffe's Web advertisement model. In particular, we investigate how the advertising factors (interaction, informativeness, irritation, and entertainment) as well as the contextual factors (localization, immediacy, and personalization) have effects on the value and attitude towards smart signage advertisement. Furthermore, we examine the moderating effect of individual defensive propensity on the relationship between affecting factors and the advertising value. By analyzing 192 samples from undergraduates, we found that four out of seven factors have significant effects on the value towards smart signage. More specifically, for advertising factors, informativeness and irritation have positive effects on the advertising value. For contextual factors, on the other hand, localization and entertainment have positive effects on the value towards smart signage. Besides, we discovered that the defensive propensity moderate the relationship between localization and the advertising value.

A Rank-based Similarity Measure for Collaborative Filtering Systems (협력 필터링 시스템을 위한 순위 기반의 유사도 척도)

  • Collaborative filtering is a methodology to recommend websites by obtaining data and opinions from the other users with similar tastes. During the past few years, this method has been used in various fields such as books, food, and movies in e-commerce systems. This study addresses the computation of similarity between users to determine items to be recommended in collaborative filtering systems. Previous studies measured similarity between users by treating each user's ratings independently without considering the distribution of the user's ratings. In contrast, this study measures similarity by utilizing position and rank information of each rating in the range of the user's ratings. The result of the experiments on the real datasets demonstrated that the proposed method improves the mean absolute error significantly, compared to the previous methods, especially when the predetermined range of ratings is large.

Personalized Digital Music Recommendation Based on the Collaborative Filtering (협동적 여과를 기반으로 하는 개인화된 디지털 음악 추천)

  • In this paper, we introduce a music recommendation system that automatically recommends music according to users' musical tastes. The recommendation system uses a graph-based collaborating filtering in which similarities between musics are saved as a graph, and so it can perform fast recommendation based on the implicit preference information. It also has capability of recommending music according to users' dynamically changing preferences as well as users' static preferences. The recommendation server is implemented as an independent server using Java, and communicates with clients according to a specified protocol. A demo web site has been built by using the server and music download data from actual users, and the accuracy of recommendation has been measured through experiments.

  • Increasingly important user based service on the smart media era, and increasing awareness about the user experience. As the connected Internet information systems increases, one of the problems happening between users and information systems such as Internet shopping-malls, portal sites, and corporate web sites is related with the information privacy concerns issues. Thus, we have reviewed extensive previous studies on information privacy in local and foreign information systems, marketing and other fields. The purpose of this study is to provide future directions of studies on information privacy concerns by analyzing past and recent trends of the studies. By considering these realities, we were conducted review on the influencing factors of information privacy concerns on behavior intention based the online environment. Based on these findings, several theoretical and practical implications were suggested and discussed.
