  • Data mining that can not be extracted with a simple query in the form of "useful" means to find information in large databases from the existing and unknown knowledge. It is based on this insight about the data can be defined as a gain. In this paper, we use the Internet to find useful patterns on the Web or saved data to the target Web site, which is to analyze the characteristics of users. A general statistical information on Internet users to the data by applying a relevance analysis, Internet use affect the amount of time to analyze the characteristics of Internet users. Only through experiments extracting data from the association rules, producing optimal results apply for the data pre-processing and algorithm for mining the Web to Internet users. characteristics were analyzed.

  • Phishing is a form of online identity theft that aims to steal sensitive information such as online banking passwords and credit card information from users. This paper presents a novel browser extension, AntiPhish, that aims to protect users against spoofed web site-based phishing attacks. To this end, AntiPhish tracks the sensitive information of a user and generates warnings whenever the user attempts to give away this information to a web site today requires only the server to be hat is considered untrusted.

Usability Evaluation for Hospital Web sites in Korea (국내 의료기관 웹 사이트에 대한 사용성 평가)

  • In this study, we evaluated web usability for hospital web sites in Korea and analyzed the evaluation results of web usability. Estimators investigated twelve hospital web sites and answered a questionnaire. They also performed predefined tasks which were frequently used services in hospital web sites. We had an interview with the estimator for finding what happened in process of evaluating usability. The evaluation results showed that university hospital provided comparatively better web usability for users. But ambiguous and complicated user interface caused confusion among users. The simplifications of service processes and interfaces were necessary to improve web usability. Some hospitals did not offer primary web services and their services related to the tasks were not systematic.

  • A huge amount of web documents, which are published on the Internet, provide to users not only helpful information but also harmful information such as pornography. In this paper we propose a method to detect the harmful web documents effectively. We first analyze harmful web documents, and extract factors to determine whether a given web document is harmful. Detail criteria are also described to assign a harmfulness score to each factor. Then the harmfulness score of a web document is computed by adding the harmfulness scores of all factors. If the harmfulness score of a web document is greater than a given threshold, the web document is detected as harmful. It is expected that this study could contribute to the protection of users from harmful web documents on the Internet.

  • Recent advances in the internet infrastructure have resulted in a large number of huge Web sites and portals worldwide. These Web sites are being visited by various types of users in many different ways. Among all the web page access sequences from different users, some of them occur so frequently that may need an attention from those who are interested. We call them frequent access patterns and access sequences that can be frequent the candidate patterns. Since these candidate patterns play an important role in the incremental Web mining, it is important to efficiently generate, add, delete, and search for them. This thesis presents a novel tree structure that can efficiently store the candidate patterns and a related set of algorithms for generating the tree structure adding new patterns, deleting unnecessary patterns, and searching for the needed ones. The proposed tree structure has a kind of the 3 dimensional link structure and its nodes are layered.

  • In this study, the Web Camera System is implementation and simulated on two different architectures. In the one architecture, a Web-server and Camera-server are implemented on the same system, and the system transfers motion picture which compressed to JPEG file to users on the WWW(World Wide Web). In the other architecture, the Web-server and Camera-server are implemented on different systems, and the motion picture is transferred from the Camera-server to Web-server, and finally to users. In order to compare system performance between two architecture, data traffic is measured and simulated in the unit of byte per second and frame per second.

  • The more mobile devices consuming web services, the more QoS-aware selection of mobile web services, we need. A QoS(Quality of Service) contract is an agreement between the web service provider and the mobile user that specifies the level of the service quality. Web services users can be assured of the level of the service quality specified by the QoS contract. We propose a broker-based framework for QoS-aware mobile web services selection in this work. Under this architecture, the mobile users can request the web services through the service broker on the wireless networks. The service broker utilizes agents to monitor the web services quality and manages the service quality by notifying the service provider and mobile user of the service contract violation. Reliability, response time, and cost were the metrics used for QoS monitoring. Futhermore mobile users can select a web service best suited for his/her needs through the service broker.

  • Using Technology Acceptance Model and flow theory as our foundation, this paper investigates the interrelationships among social influence, individual cognition, flow, and actual usage in the Web 2.0 environment. According to TAM, users evaluate perceived usefulness(PU) and ease of use(PEU) of information technology(IT) in accepting the innovative IT. Along with users' cognitive evaluation(i.e. PU and PEU), in case of UCC(user-created-contents), which is one of the representative Web 2.0 features, flow also has a significant effect on users' usage. Accordingly, the current study involve cognitive elements such as PU and PEU as well as flow of enjoyable state during using IT in exploring antecedents leading to UCC usage. On one hand, we consider the effect of social influence on users' cognition and flow toward actual usage because the more users creates Web contents, the more long-tail situation prevails on the Internet. Web 2.0 becomes a kind of social phenomena. The empirical results show that social influence affects positively both PU/PEU and flow. Users' cognitive evaluation and flow have positive impacts on users' UCC usage.

Analysis of the usage Pattern of Tagging in Collaborative Bookmarking (협력적 북마킹의 태킹 행태 분석)

  • The use of tagging to describes web documents in the form of keyword has experienced rising popularity among various web services. Tagging also plays an important role in collaborative bookmarking services which can be regarded as an online favorite bookmark service. Tags which are created by users make it easier to search other users' bookmarks as well as user's own bookmarks. In this paper we analyze usage patterns of collaborative tagging for exploring factors influencing the number of tags in web documents and users. We discovered that user's characteristics have more effect on the tags than the web documents' characteristics. Moreover, leading users contribute to make a variety of tag than following users. Our study implies that more knowledge can be created through the incentives for leading user in order to improve the service quality of tagging service.
