In this paper, we implement a content based image retrieval system for image searching by visual features from the image databases on WWW (world wide web). The image retrieval system finds the images that contain the most similar color regions after the system automatically extracts color features from the input image. We can select one of two query methods which use a full image of $4{\times}4$ 16 sketched color region. The image similarity is calculated on the histogram intersection distance and the histogram Euclidean distance. As the experimental results show that the two different query types provide the precision/recall 0.84/0.92 and 0.85/0.93 respectively, this retrieval system has been able to obtain high performance and validity.

We propose the RSS Channel retrieval system to activate the blog information transmission. The system consists of a web crawler and blog DB. Web Crawler moves in limited breath first searching method and it collects the RSS Channel Address. Blog DB renews information using RSS. The user could be recommended the RSS Channel using the various query.

The existing mashup service providers have induced users to participate in their own made services and have grown their services by user participations and contributing contents. Recent services based on Web2.0 are called by 'Open (Content) Service' which means anyone can provide new services to the others without any of their own contents. But unfortunately the most of these days services are not opened. They just using mashups for increasing their service's traffics. We introduce the way to make a simple service to provide searching videos present it with extracted keyword from external content without our own contents at all. this show that how to combine the content with another contents or services.

At present, more than 300 races of the Silkworm are conserved and used as valuable genetic resources. But because of the uneffectiveness of manual data management, faster and systematic data base construction is needed. So, development of silkworm genetic resources management program has been begun and the result can be practically used. When developing the program, Visual basic was used for data input system construction, and MS Access for database. IIS(Internet Information System) and ASP(Active Server Page) was also used for searching data and information with Internet Web Server and Web Browser which is comfortable for constructing database and providing information. Data input item consists of 46 practical characteristics such as race name, moltinism, larval period and pupation percentage etc.. And these characteristics are classified with qualitative and quantitative character. Photographs of silkworm, cocoon and other related items were scanned and the image data was recorded on the database.

본 논문에서는 다중 쓰레드 환경에서 동작하는 웹 크롤러를 구현하고 성능을 분석한다. 이 웹 크롤러의 특징은 검색시간을 단축하기 위하여 크롤링, 파싱 및 페이지랭킹, DB 저장 모듈을 서로 독립적으로 다른 작업을 수행하도록 구현한 것이다. 크롤링 모듈은 웹상의 데이터를 수집하는 기능을 제공한다. 그리고 파싱 및 페이지랭크 모듈은 수집한 데이터를 파싱하고, 웹 페이지의 상대적인 중요도를 수치로 계산하여 페이지랭크를 지정한다. DB 연동 모듈은 페이지랭크 모듈에서 구한 페이지랭크를 데이터베이스에 저장한다. 성능평가에서는 다중 쓰레드 환경에서 쓰레드 수와 웹 페이지의 수에 따른 검색 시간을 측정하여 그 결과를 비교 평가한다.

Due to the recent tremendous growth of internet information, RSS, syndication technology provides internet users with a user-friendly information search. RSS enables you to automatically receive newly updated contents, so users do not need to constantly access web sites to obtain new information. This paper proposes the way of managing the web crawler, which collects the sites of RSS documents and helps the users efficiently use the RSS documents. And it also suggests the proper way of ranking the RSS documents based on the users' popularity. Users can efficiently search out the documents they need by using the proposed information searching methods.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to analyze the baby moisturizers and give information about basis of herbal moisturizer. Methods : We selected 243 goods by searching with keywords as "baby moisturizer" at 6 major web search engines, 12 web shopping malls in Korea. 10 items were evaluated under three evaluation criteria such as type of product, ingredient and function of goods. Results : Study resulted that the most type of moisturizers were lotion type. 80% of the products contained medical agents. Ingredients of medical agents were herbal medicine, aroma oil, vitamin and extract. The moisturizer for atopic dermatitis contained ceramide about half. The ingredient of herbal medicine existed usually as excipients, not as active ingredient. Conclusion : It is necessary to study and develop new products contained herbal medicine as active ingredient based on the oriental medical theory.

This paper suggests the system for searching and application is to be in combination between existing hair art area and Image/Video processing area. This proposed system usually saves various hair types into a database, then, users send images of their face over the internet by using WebCam. Finally, they can find the hair types for users.

The rapid growing of video content production leads to the necessity of developing more complex indexing systems in order to efficiently allow searching, retrieval and presentation of the desired segments of videos. This paper presents a method for indexing soccer video through automatic extraction of information from internet. The proposed paper defines a metadata structure to formally represent the knowledge of soccer matches and provides an automatic method to extract semantic information from web-sites. This approach improves the capability to extract more reliable and richer semantic Information for soccer videos. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method provides an efficient performance.

Alkaptonuria (AKU, OMIM: 203500) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder of tyrosine metabolism due to a defect of enzyme activity, homogentisate 1,2-dioxygenase (HGD). The patients with AKU initially presented with dark urine discoloration, and ochronosis and arthritis develop after third decades of life. With advances of Internet resources, web-based health seekers for rare disease are increasing. Here, we report the case of an 18-year-old boy with AKU who visited our center due to dark black urine based on self-diagnosis via web searching of this rare condition. Compound heterozygous mutations in HGD gene, IVS5+3A>C and IVS12+6T>C were identified and both of mutations were detected in his parents. Our case illustrates the utility of publicly available Internet resources for diagnosis of rare disease.
