Wear Behavior of Laser Modified SM45C Steel (레이저 표면개질된 SM45C강의 마멸거동)

  • Radiation of Nd-YAG laser changes and refines the surface microstructure of steels, which gives rise to enhancement of hardness and resulting wear resistance. In the present work, the effect of processing parameters during the surface modification with laser on the wear behavior of the SM45C steel was studied by means of wear testing. The counter material was alumina ceramics. The microstructure observation revealed the dependence of molten depth and width on the defocusing distance. The laser modification of steel surface give rise to improved wear resistance in the testing speed range of either <0.2 m/s or >0.9 m/s Material transfer from steel was wear observated the surface of counter material when testing speed was lower than 0.7 m/s.

  • Effects of sliding speed, applied load, counterpart radius and thickness of PMMA (Poly Methyl Methacrylate) coating layers on their dry sliding frictional and wear behavior were investigated. Sliding wear tests were carried out using a pin-on-disk wear tester. The PMMA layer was coated on Si wafer by a sol-gel technique with two different thicknesses, $1.5{\mu}m\;and\;0.8{\mu}m$. AISI 52100 bearing steel balls were used as a counterpart of the PMMA coating during the wear. Normal applied load and sliding speed were varied. Wear mechanisms were investigated by examining worn surfaces by an SEM. Under most of sliding test conditions, the thicker layer with the thickness of $1.5{\mu}m$ showed lower fiction coefficient than the thinner layer. Effects of sliding speed and counterpart's radius on the frictional behavior were varied depending on the thickness of the coating layer.

  • The sliding wear behavior of $Al_2O_3/NiCr$ coating deposited on steel(SM45C) was investigated under lubrication. The parameters of sliding wear are normal loads, coating thickness. As a result, the wear resistance of $Al_2O_3/NiCr$ coating was remarkably greater than that of $Al_2O_3$ coating. The optimized coating thickness was found to be $300{\mu}m$ to ensure good anti-wear. The bond coating played important role in decreasing residual stress. The residual stress had much influence on wear mechanism. These results were correlated with the stress state of coating and the microstructure of coating.

  • The relationship between oxidation and sliding wear behavior of Fe-28 at%. Al alloys with B2 ordered structure has been investigated. Sliding wear tests of the alloys have been carried out under various environmental conditions using a pin-on-disk wear tester. The wear rate of the ordered alloys in an oxygen atmoshpere was found to be much lower than in an oxygen atmosphere showed that Fe2O oxides formed on the wearing surface. The oxide layer prevented direct contact of the two mating materials and therefore improved wear resistance of the Fe-Al intermetallic alloy. It was found that the surface Al2O3 oxide layer which provides good oxidation resistance and improved mechanical properties broke down easily and didnot function properly as an oxidation barrier.

  • A comprehensive review on sliding and solid particle erosion wear characteristics of silicon carbide (SiC) ceramics and SiC composites is provided. Sliding or erosion wear behavior of ceramics is dependent on various material characteristics as well as test parameters. Effects of microstructural and mechanical properties of SiC ceramics are particularly focused to understand tribological performance of SiC ceramics. Results obtained between varieties of pairs of SiC ceramics indicate complexity in understanding dominant mechanisms of material removal. Wear mechanisms during sliding are mainly divided in two groups as mechanical and tribochemical. In solid particle erosion conditions, wear mechanisms of SiC ceramics are explained by elastic-plastic deformation controlled micro-fracture on the surface followed by radial-lateral crack propagation beneath the plastic zone.

  • The sliding wear behavior of Plasma-Sprayed Al$_2$O$_3$-TiO$_2$ Coating against Cemented Carbide were Investigated using a pin on disk type tester. The experiment was conducted using Al$_2$O$_3$-TiO$_2$ Coaling as pin material and Cemented Carbide as disk material and different operating conditions, at room temperature under a dry conditions. The results showed that the type B(250kw power) appeared average wear rate Is lowed than type A(80kw power). The specific wear rate of Specimen A1 Increased with normal load. But The specific wear rate of Specimen B1 decreased with normal load. Average wear rate of specimen A3, B3 are lowed than other but the sliding wear mechanism of edge were rough.

A Qualitative Research about the CRM Experiences of Apparel Brand Customers (의류브랜드 소비자의 고객관계관리 경험에 관한 탐색적 연구 - 남성복, 여성복, 캐주얼, 스포츠의류 소비자의 비교를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study were 1) to analyze customer relationship management(CRM) based on the online customer experiences by product types (i.e., men's, women's, casual, sports wear), 2) to analyze CRM based on the off-line customer experiences by product type, and 3) to examine customer purchase behavior of fashion products and internet usage behavior by product types. Survey and 1:1 interview were conducted from January 13th to May 16th, 2005. Six consumers from each brand (i.e., 3 loyal customers and 3 general customers) in a total of 24 customers were selected from each product type. For the data analysis, content analysis and descriptive statistics (i.e. frequency) were used. Among the key study findings first, as a result of the on-line CRM experience, the customers of men's wear preferred receiving customized information through e-mail or SMS service. The customers of sports wear preferred receiving a different level of information and participating in customized product service. Second, as a result of the off-line CRM experience, the customers of men's wear need to be encouraged to join a membership at a sales encounter and the customers of women's wear preferred receiving quick information of new products and participating in a design development planning of the merchandising process. Third, the purchasing behavior of the customers of women's wear are influenced mostly by the salesperson and the store atmosphere when they purchase clothes and the customers of men's wear are price-sensitive. The results of this study can be used when fashion brands perform strategic planning and decision making on CRM.

The effect of consumption value of golf wear brands on attitude and purchasing behavior (골프웨어 브랜드의 소비가치가 태도 및 구매행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the influence of the consumption value on attitude and purchase behavior in order to provide basic data for golf wear brand strategies. Therefore, among the Korean people, those who had purchased golf wear were selected as samples, and 496 copies of data were introduced into the final analysis. For data processing, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and internal consistency were conducted. In addition, correlation analysis and simple and multiple regression analysis were conducted to verify research problems, and all data processing used the SPSS (ver. 21.0) program. As a result of verifying research problems, first, it was found that the consumption value of golf wear brands had a significant effect on attitudes in the order of pleasure, aesthetics, and symbolism. Second, it was found that the attitude of golf wear brands had a significant effect on purchase behavior. Third, it was found that the consumption value of golf wear brands had a significant effect on purchase behavior in the order of pleasure, aesthetics, and symbolism.

Wear Behaviors of Gas Atomized and Extruded Hypereutectic Al-Si Alloys (가스분무 공정에 의한 과공정 Al-Si 합금 분말 압출재의 마모 거동)

  • Wear behaviors of gas atomized and extruded Al-Si alloys were investigated using the dry sliding wear apparatus. The wear tests were conducted on Al-Si alloy discs against cast iron pins and vice versa at constant load of 10N with different sliding speed of 0.1, 0.3, 0.5m/s. In the case of Al-Si alloy discs slid against the cast iron pins, the wear rate slightly increased with increasing the sliding speed due to the abrasive wear occurred between Al-Si alloy discs and cast iron pins. Conversely, in the case of cast iron discs against Al-Si alloy pins, the wear rate decreased with increasing the sliding speed up to 0.3m/s. However, the wear rate increased with increasing the sliding speed from 0.3m/s to 0.5m/s. It could be due to adhesive wear behavior and abrasive wear behavior_between cast iron discs and Al-Si alloy pins.

  • During the past decade, the Quick Tool-Life Testing Method has been studied. However, a generalized theory and testing method for the quantitative measurement of tool wear have not been developed yet. Among many factors to affect the tool wear, the flank wear is regarded as a main factor. In this study, the behavior of the flank wear for carbide tool was studied as a preceding step to present a simple method for Quick Tool-Life Testing, and it was found that the flank wear varies in direct proportion to cutting time, and the following general equation is obtained for the flank wear curves with respect to cutting time and velociety.
