  • A start-up demonstration test is a mechanism that is usually used to determine the reliability of equipment, for example water pumps, car batteries and power generators. The simplest and oldest start-up demonstration tests are called CS (consecutive successes) which have been studied by Hahn and Gage (1983), Viveros and Balakrishnan (1993).At first Hahn and Gage (1983) discussed the start-up demonstration test. I was based on i.i.d (independently and identically distributed) binary outcomes with the specified number of consecutive successful start-ups. Oh (2016) studied CSNCF (consecutive successful, but not consecutive failures). In this paper, we investigated the CS and CSNCF models, also their applications to start-up demonstration tests. The numerical results showed that the expectations and variances of the total number of attempted start-ups until the acceptance of the unit are gradually increasing in all of the specified number of successes as the p (probability of a successful start-up in an single trial) decreases from 0.99 to 0.90. The difference between means of the CS mode and CSNCF model is small, but variances of the CS and CSNCF are big.

  • The purpose of this study is to study the influence of the entrepreneurship of the senior generation on the will to start a business at a time when the senior generation cannot lead to technology start-ups or reemployment even after retirement. In addition, in this study, we look at the relationship between entrepreneurship and will to start a business and use social and intellectual capital to verify the impact of entrepreneurship on the will to start a business. This study shows that entrepreneurship is concerned with the relationship between social and intellectual capital and not with the relationship between entrepreneurship and will to start a business. In addition, the relationship between social capital to the will to start a business was significant and the intellectual capital was not significant in the will to start a business. Even if entrepreneurship is embedded, it means that experience and network of social and intellectual capital are essential to the will to start a business, rather than to start one right away.

  • Objective: This study aimed to introduce Health Impact Assessment using the case of a HIA on 2008 Dream Start Project in Cheongju. Methods: We followed the typical procedure of HIA recommended by the Merseyside Guidelines on HIA. In scoping, the steering committee decided 5 key domains of child health to be assessed: prenatal care, vaccination, nutrition, access to health care, and child abuse and also the methods of collecting the evidence. The HIA appraisal team collected information from various sources including literature, community survey, and focus group interviews. The HIA appraisal team also synthesized the collected information in terms of the nature of health impacts and equity and made recommendations accordingly. Results: Positive impacts were expected in prenatal care, vaccination, and nutrition, while negative impacts were expected in access to health care. The impact of Dream Start on child abuse was uncertain. Several recommendations were made and submitted to the Dream Start team for their consideration. About 2 years later, we found many of them were implemented in 2009 Dream Start project. Conclusion: HIA was found to be applicable and effective to make decision makers in the welfare sector consider health in their work.

  • With the advent and popularity of e-commerce, an increasing number of consumers prefer to order tourism products online. A recommender system can help these users contend with information overload; however, such a system is affected by the cold start problem. Online tourism destination searching is a more difficult task than others on account of its more restrictive factors. In this paper, we therefore propose a tourism destination recommender system that employs opinion-mining technology to refine user preferences and item opinion reputations. These elements are then fused into a hybrid collaborative filtering method by combining user- and item-based collaborative filtering approaches. Meanwhile, we embed an artificial interactive module in our recommender system to alleviate the cold start problem. Compared with several well-known cold start recommendation approaches, our method provides improved recommendation accuracy and quality. A series of experimental evaluations using a publicly available dataset demonstrate that the proposed recommender system outperforms existing recommender systems in addressing the cold start problem.

  • This paper is written by research for the transient characteristics of the Single-phase Line-start permanent Magnet. The Single-phase Line-start permanent Magnet is most likely to substitute for Single-phase Induction Motor which is used about many appliance currently, because that has good points. For example, It has a Line-start of ability and a High-efficiency. And it need not power convergence device. The rotor of The Single-phase Line-start permanent Magnet has cage-bar with permanent magnet. This motor is started by cage-bar. When it entered synchronous condition, the rotor is rotated by the permanent magnet. But the design of the permanent magnet is very important, because the breaking torque of the permanent magnet interrupt to start a rotor. Finally, if Flux Barrier is not concerned, we do not get result of our object. Therefore this thesis is concerned about Flux Barrier.

  • Expectations and demands for the paradigm of healthcare systems are changing in response to changes in the characteristics of population properties and industrial structures; therefore, it is time to prepare for the career diversification of nursing students who have mainly entered the clinical field. The study tested the pathway of financial literacy on the relationship between entrepreneurship and nursing start-up attitude among nursing students. We obtained data from 177 South Korean nursing students through email and mobile phone. The analysis of the mediating effect was performed by hierarchical multiple regression. The SPSS WIN program was adopted. Entrepreneurship and financial literacy of subjects had a significantly positive effect on nursing start-up attitudes. Financial literacy indirectly affected the relationship between nursing students' entrepreneurship and nursing start-up attitude, and significance was verified by Process Macro. Financial literacy can mediate between entrepreneurship and nursing start-up attitudes. These factors will provide an important basis for nursing students to grow into talented people with business capabilities. Nursing education should strengthen the foundation that promotes business competence in nursing students.

  • This study identified the influence of employees' hybrid start-up intention (intention to start a business while maintaining a job) on the employees' self-determination motivation (intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation) and prior knowledge through the Model of Goal-directed Behavior (MGB). We used a PLS-SEM called SmartPLS 3.0 for 126 valid samples collected by judgement extraction for office workers throughout June 13, 2020 to July 3, 2020, and empirically evaluated the measurement model (internal consistency reliability, convergent and discriminant validity) and the structural model (multicollinearity, determination coefficient, effect size, predictive relevance, etc.). Only the intrinsic motivation for realizing the hybrid start-up goal of office workers had a significant impact on the hybrid start-up attitude and subjective norms, and the prior knowledge of hybrid start-up had a significant impact on the hybrid start-up desire and the hybrid start-up intention. In order to induce hybrid start-ups for workers with unstable employment, we need systems and programs that can inspire employees with intrinsic motivation and knowledge about hybrid start-up, so follow-up researches are necessary to analyze about government systems and consulting support that can promote hybrid start-up.

  • Although crowdfunding has emerged as a promising route to fundraising success, little is known about the specifics of equity-based crowdfunding. Using a data set of 1,111 start-ups with investment funding totaling over $4.67 billion, we analyzed the association between a start-up's underlying characteristics and its funding outcome. We found that a start-up's funding outcome is positively associated with its human capital, but negatively associated with earlier investors' business experience. Furthermore, our analyses revealed that investors have higher levels of social capital are a noise signal to later investors. These findings shed light on the critical role of human capital, investors' experience, and social capital as credible signals for start-up investment in equity crowdfunding.
