This study focused on 15 parks to investigate the actual developmental conditions for preservation type parks and artificial type parks in the 9 residential land development sites managed by the Korea Land Corporation in Daegu and Gyeongsangbukdo area from 1994 to 2002. Emphasis is placed upon the types of land use, park arrangements, park facilities, types of planted trees and landscaping expense, with a view to discovering ways of improving the efficiency of future park development.

Programming ability becomes an essential ability for elementary and secondary school students as well as computer science major students in modern information society. Thus, improving programming ability has long been a research project for computer scientists and teachers in IT areas. There have been many research works for improving programming ability in various ways. At first glance, emotional intelligence is generally known as humanistic intelligence, and nothing to do with computer areas. In the recent works, emotional intelligence has a correlation with various subjects. The purpose of this paper is to analyze correlation between emotional intelligence and programing ability. For this purpose, extensive survey works are carried out and statistical results are analyzed. Based on statistical analysis, it is concluded that there is a correlation between emotional intelligence and programming ability.

In this paper, we propose a non-edge following method for linear programs. Unlike alledged poor performance of algorithms of this type, this method performs well at least with 25 randomly generated problems. This method is comparable to Rosen's gradient projection method as applied to the dual formulation. The latter is of general purpose, and no implementation rules are available for linear program applications. This paper suggests ways of finding improving dual feasible directions, and of allowing to move across the extreme faces of a higher dimension polyhedron. Rather simple computational rules are provided for projection operations needed at each iteration.

The main purpose of this study is to research ways for waste reduction in manufacturing, materials regeneration and clean production in apparel manufacturing in Taiwan, in order to achieve 3E: Efficiency, Economy and Environmental Protection. Specifically, this study hopes to address the following three areas: (1) To study the processing technologies which can turn apparel wastes to resources (2) To increase the efficiency in the use of energy and resources in apparel production (3) To establish a system for improving the recovery from unwanted apparel in Taiwan, in order to improve environmental protection and to reduce pollution.

Project monitoring and evaluation is very important, as it can be used to indicate progress and success, including problems and impact of the project. It can also be used for improving project plan, administration, and management. GIS is the visualization method that is extremely helpful in decision making and planning. So GIS is an appropriate tool for agricultural project and program monitoring and evaluation. There are three ways of using GIS in project undertakings i.e. GIS for feasibility studies, GIS for project and program monitoring, and GIS for project and program evaluation.

Objective: The objective of this study is to explore factors that contribute toward improving the effectiveness of school-based smoking cessation programs for Korean adolescents. Methods: Thematic analysis was done on the feedback gathered from a focus group interview of 5 instructors with ample service experience at smoking cessation programs provided in school settings. Results: This study has identified 9 categories of initiatives that may contribute to improving the quality of existing programs. These nine categories were grouped into the following 4 themes. 1) Improvement in the structure of intervention: the programs should be restructured to allow more instruction time and better instruction environment; 2) Improvement in the content of intervention: the programs should develop differentiated contents considering the characteristics of adolescence; 3) Importance of rapport, adolescents' interests and compensation: the program should be more interesting to adolescents and provide rewards based on the rapport between instructors and adolescents; 4) Cooperation among smoking cessation instructor, school, and community: instructors, teachers at schools, and communities should cooperate actively with one another. Conclusions: The school-based smoking cessation programs will benefit from implementing the findings of this study in improving its effectiveness in smoking cession in adolescents.

Bidding and contract systems are used for public construction projects to select contractors following fair competition principles and to execute national budgets effectively. Many challenges have arisen due to a lack of transparency and fairness and because bidding practices have been luck-based. Few comprehensive or comparative analyses have been conducted on the performance and limitations of bidding and contract systems, and empirical analyses designed to improve policies on and the practice of such systems are lacking. This study empirically analyzed current bidding and contract systems to seek ways of improving them. The study proposes several alternatives to resolve the problems with and irrationalities of the current system: 1) improving bidding and selection systems by changing them from a luck-based price competition into a technical merit- and value-based competition; 2) improving the assessment criteria to meet the current market level of bid and winning prices; 3) adjusting contractual responsibilities and sharing structures to meet the current trend; and 4) strengthening the competitiveness and expanding the social responsibility-based procurement systems of construction companies.

Purpose: There is little emphasis on alternative forms of communication in psychotherapy, thus leaving a gap in research on the impact and effects of alternatives such as using artistic expressions. The current research, therefore, seeks to address the gap by investigating the effect of psychological counseling using Art Therapy on improving workers' job efficiency. Research design, data and methodology: The present author collected topic related to prior studies in terms of psychological counseling, art therapy, and employee job efficiency. And then, the author conducted clear procedure of the screening to eliminate inappropriate previous works including conference papers and dissertations so that this research could obtain only journal articles and books which have been proven by high degree of reliability and validity. Results: This research has concluded that psychological counselling using art therapy is pertinent to improving the worker's job efficiency in various ways, addressing properly mental health issues ranging from small to complicated or acute issues, thus promoting the well-being of employees to work at their optimum or best possible conditions. Conclusions: Psychological counseling using art therapy improves self-confidence, esteem, and awareness. Further, it enhances their social skills, expression capability, and general work ability. Elsewhere it improves coping with pain and reduces stress and depression.

University campuses have been developed along with the historical development of mankind in association with the characteristics of urban changes. In particular, regarding the master plan reflecting periodic characteristics, now is the time to grope for crucial roles today that we are pursuing international growth of universities. Also, with the development of cities, in terms of the aspects of campus development, various borderline extension strategies are explored due to the physical limitation. And with the program methods through the exchange with the local community, we are concretizing this through the formation of new campuses. Seoul National University, the subject of this paper, is groping for ways of extension through the SNU-Valley Project with its Gwanak campus. Along with this, it is looking for ways of cubic borderline extension by forming Siheung international campus. The conclusion drawn through above contents is as written below: First, universities located in cites have relatively more limitations in the extension of campus space along with the development of urban space changes. To overcome this, various ways like political or physical space extension strategies are being explored. Second, along with the physical strategies visually shown in suggesting university campus master plans, we can recognize the importance of suggesting vision through specialization strategies. Third, it is about the importance of improving relationship with the local community. With the approaches based on human resources and reasonable connection of space, this also plays roles in enhancing the urbanity of the campus. Fourth, we can see the aspects of campus' urban function enhancing. It is needed to connect urban context that a region has with environment and grope for ways to enhance centrality, connection, and accessibility in it.

People's thinking and aging ways, which are spread in the abnormal situation called the reoognition panic, are different from those in the normal situation. So the design which is applied to this situation have the different points to be considered. The design in the abnormal situation is as important as that in the normal situation. This study is to evaluate the basic usability of the icons which are applied to this situation. The basic data about the recognition course, icon and metaphor have been collected and analyzed, and then the experiments based on this have been planned. The proprieties and conclusions about the ways have been generalized through accomplishing and analyzing the planned experiments. The most important meaning of this study is to suggest the examples of the usability estimating ways of the design works in the abnormal situation where the recognition panic may happen with high frequency. I hope that this study will be used for checking and improving in advance the difficulties of using the design which may happen in the real situation, by using actively the similar ways to this experiment.
