  • If temperature management is required in factory or environmental monitoring, temperature can be measured by connecting various sensors wired or wirelessly. Surface acoustic wave sensors measure temperature using changes in acoustic waves on the sensor surface according to temperature, and are useful for wireless networks. In this paper, in order to build a wireless temperature measurement system in the 900 MHz frequency band, the temperature characteristics of the passive SAW sensor were measured, and the analysis and removal of multipath reflection wave effect inside the high temperature chamber were conducted. The resonant frequency of the SAW sensor was measured, and radio transmission/reception and multipath reflected wave removal techniques were proposed in the shielded chamber.

  • The focus of this paper is on the numerical investigation of obliquely incident wane interactions with a system composed of full submerged and floating dual buoy/vertical-flexible-membrane breakwaters placed in parallel with spacing. The fully submerged systems allow surface and bottom clearances to enable wave transmission over and under the system. The problem is formulated based on the two-dimensional multi-domain hydro-elastic linear wave-body interaction theory. The hydrodynamic interaction of oblique incident waves with the combination of the rigid and flexible bodies was solved by the distribution of the simple sources (modified Bessel function of fille second kind) tat satisfy the Helmholz governing equation. Using this computer program, the performance of various dual systems varying buoy radiuses and drafts, membrane lengths, clearances. spacing, mooring-lines stiffness, mooring types, water depth, and wave characteristics is thoroughly examined. It is found that the fully submerged and floating dual buoy/membrane breakwaters call, if it is properly tuned to the coming waves, have good performances ill reflecting the obliquely incident waves over a tilde range of wave frequency and headings.

  • This work investigates the hybrid precoder scheme in a millimeter wave (mmWave) multi-user MIMO system. We study a sum rate maximization scheme by jointly designing the digital precoder and the analog precoder. To handle the non-convex problem, a block coordinate descent (BCD) method is formulated, where the digital precoder is solved by a bisection search and the analog precoder is addressed by the penalty dual decomposition (PDD) alternately. Then, we extend the proposed algorithm to the sub-connected schemes. Besides, the proposed algorithm enjoys lower computational complexity when compared with other benchmarks. Simulation results verify the performance of the proposed scheme and provide some meaningful insight.

  • This paper presents the self-matched line pulse generator and the concerned principles on its operation and characteristics are mentioned. The circuit consists of a charged transmission line and a high speed switch, and it generates a square wave pulse with the very fast rise time. The generated waveform depends on the load resistance. As the load resistance is infinite, a single rectangular wave pulse is generated and its efficiency is nearly unity.

  • More than effectively judging the existence of voids behind concrete tunnel linings or under concrete pavements, this research aims to develop the analysis algorithm of radar capable of estimation of the shape of specific voids. To detect or estimate void shapes in non-reinforced concrete, the simulation analysis model of transmission and reflection wave of electromagnetic radar is used. This radar simulation model is carried out with various void shapes. As the results, a proposed method in this study has a possibility of detecting or estimating void shapes with good accuracy.

  • This paper describes the fault location technique using wavelets in transmisson line. Estimation of fault location is performed using synchronized data sampled at two ends of line and travelling wave. The similar current wave modeled in PSCAD/EMTDC and MATLAB was applied to evaluate the accuracy of theory proposed in this paper. The results of fault location shown in this paper will be evaluated as an effective suggestion for fault location in real transmisson line

  • A Wireless Access for Vehicular Environment (WAVE) system based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is made for vehicle to vehicle wireless communications. The physical layer standard of the WAVE system is very similar to that of the IEEE802.11a wireless local area network (WLAN). Therefore, the performance of the WAVE system is degraded by continual channel variation in the WAVE multipath fading channels after starting initial channel estimation. In this paper, we research the performance improvement of equalization in 64 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) transmission in WAVE environment. The proposed algorithms use the training sequence and the midamble sequence which is used for fast channel variation such as WAVE environments. Additionally, various interpolation methods are also used for the channel tracking.

  • To develop cardiovascular simulator capable of implementing pulse waves similar to the human body, accurate information about reflection wave is required. However, the conclusion is still not clear and various discussions are underway. In this study, the pulse wave velocity of the tube used in the experiment was first determined by measuring the pressure waves at two points in a single tube system with the experimental device to implement the pulse wave transmission of blood vessels, and the superposition time and characteristics of the reflection wave were confirmed. After that, an air chamber was set at the reflection site, and the effect of the change of air volume on the reflection wave was investigated. Finally, the effect of the number of branches connected to a single tube on the reflection wave was investigated. The superposition time of the reflection wave can be controlled by the air volume of the air chamber, and the magnitude of the reflection wave is influenced by the number of reflection sites that generate the reflection wave. The results of this study may be of practical assistance to simulator researchers who want to implement pulse wave similar to clinical data. It is expected that the more results similar to clinical are provided, the greater the scope of the simulator's contribution to clinical cardiovascular research.

  • This paper presents a CPW patch antenna with $\lambda/2$ CPW transmission lines. Through the full-wave simulation and the equations of gap capacitance, the dimensions of the CPW transmission lines and resonance circuit components are extracted. Using extracted dimensions, we designed and implemented CPW patch antennas in the range of frequency of 5GHz.

  • In this paper, the power flow analysis(PFA) method is applied to the prediction of the vibrational energy density and intensity of coupled co-planar plates. To cover the energy transmission and reflection at the joint of the plates, the wave transmission approach is introduced with the assumption that all the incident waves are normal to the joint. By changing the frequency ranges and internal loss factors, we have obtained the PFA results, and compared them with the analytical exact solutions.
