Numerical investigation on the wave interferences of submerged bodies operating near the free surface

  • A key factor that governs the wave interferences of a submerged body is the dimensionless Froude number. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is used to describe the resistance force coefficients and the generated waves of two SUBOFF submarine models. Grid independence studies are performed on two cases, totally and shallowly submerged cases, with four sets of computing meshes. The highest peaks are marked by red points at given wavelengths, a line is fitted to those points with a least-squares approximation, and the half wake angle at multiple Froude numbers is defined between the fitted line and the centerline of the free surface. The results show that when the depth of the target is 1.1D, constructive interferences occur at Fn = 0.3 and 0.5, while destructive interference occurs at Fn = 0.35 with distortion of the waveform. The half wake angle is less than 19.47° because of the interference between the bow and stern wave systems.

  • There are strong ocean wave interference with big amplitude very low frenqencies are similar to the ship's hydrodynamic signals. To detect ship's hydrodynamic field will be faced various natural hydrodynamic interferences which are radom and the prior knowlege of which are not know. This paper proposes to use the adaptive noise cancelling principle and used the model of adaptive wave canceller to eliminate the ocean wave interfrence and detect the ship's hydrodynamic signals. Computer simulation results shown that signal to noise ratio can be raised from several to ten times. It shows the fact that this mathod can detect the ship's hydrodynamic signals from the strong ocean wave interferences while it is difficult for the old methods.

  • As wind waves generated in deep water approach nearshore zone, they experience various physical phenomena caused by bathymetric variations, nonlinear interactions among different wave components and interferences with man-made coastal structures. Among these, the bathymetric variations may play a significant role in the change of wave climate. The accurate calculation of reflection and transmission coefficients of incident waves over a bottom topography is indispensible for the proper and economical design of coastal structures. (omitted)

An Adaptive Narrowband Interference Excision Filter with Low Signal Loss for GPS Receivers

  • As the low power GPS signal is susceptible to interference, interference can seriously degrade the performance of GPS receiver. This paper designs a ANIEF(Adaptive Narrowband Interference Excision in Frequency domain) filter that removes narrow band interferences with low signal loss. This filter uses the pre-correlation technique and attempts to filter out the interference in the frequency domain. The interference excision performance of the designed filter is evaluated for various interferences using the ANIEF filter inserted GPS software receiver and the interference generator. Interferences considered in this paper are single-tone CWI(Continuous Wave Interference), multi-tones CWI, pulsed CWI, and swept CWI. The narrowband interference excision filter in frequency domain is very effective against various interferences and the strong interference with a simple structure. However, the signal power loss is unavoidable while transforming. In this paper, the hamming window and overlap technique are adopted to reduce the signal power loss. Finally, the interference excision performance and the reduced signal power loss of the ANIEF filter are shown.

Machine-Learning-Based User Group and Beam Selection for Coordinated Millimeter-wave Systems

  • In this paper, to improve spectral efficiency and mitigate interference in coordinated millimeter-wave systems, we proposes an optimal user group and beam selection scheme. The proposed scheme improves spectral efficiency by mitigating intra- and inter-cell interferences (ICI). By examining the effective channel capacity for all possible user combinations, user combinations and beams with minimized ICI can be selected. However, implementing this in a dense environment of cells and users requires highly complex computational abilities, which we have investigated applying multiclass classifiers based on machine learning. Compared with the conventional scheme, the numerical results show that our proposed scheme can achieve near-optimal performance, making it an attractive option for these systems.

  • 지능형 교통 시스템(ITS : Intelligent Transport Systems)은 원활한 교통 흐름과 자동차의 주행 안전성을 위해 활발히 연구가 진행되고 있는 분야이다. 이를 위한 차량간의 거리 측정 센서로 최근에는 밀리미터파를 이용한 FMCW(Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) 레이더가 활발히 연구되고 있다. 실제로 미국, 유럽 및 일본에서는 이미 47, 60, 77, 94, 139GHz 등이 차량의 레이더용 주파수로 할당되어 있다. 하지만 이러한 차량용 FMCW 레이더는 주변의 다른 레이더의 신호로 부터 간섭을 받게 되어 성능이 저하되는데 본 논문에서는 이런 FMCW레이더의 주변 간섭에 대한 영향을 분석하기 위해 FMCW레이더 및 간섭 상황을 모델링하고 이를 시뮬레이션 하였다. 본 연구에서는 레이더에 적용되던 기존의 성능 분석 지표인 PD(Probabilities of Detection)와 PFA(Probabilities of False Alarm) 이외에 거리 오차 정보를 반영하는 레이더 성능 분석 파라메타로 RER(Range Error Rate)을 제안하고 시뮬레이션을 통해 유용성을 검증 하였다. 제안된 RER 파라메타는 차량용 레이더 시스템에 있어 외부간섭신호에 의한 거리 오차에 대한 성능평가 지표로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

저궤도 이동위성통신망에서 위성의 이동성을 고려한 링크해석 (Link analysis considering the satellite mobility in the LEO mobile communication networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 저궤도 이동위성망에서 위성의 이동성을 양각(또는 전파거리)과 결부시켜 다중경로 페이딩과 위성간 간섭을 분석하고 다양한 전파전파 환경과 통신시스템 신뢰도에 대한 링크 성능을 평가하였다. 다중경로 페이딩은 전원지역, 도심지역 그리고 교외지역에서 위성의 이동에 따른 페이딩여유도의 변화를 통해 해석될 수 있으며, 위성간 간섭은 8가지 유형의 간섭경로에서 저궤도 위성시스템 내부의 자체간섭, 타 저궤도 위성시스템에의한 외부간섭 그리고 정지궤도 위성시스템에 의한 외부간섭을 분석하였다. 결론적으로 본 논문에서는 저궤도 위성망에서 시간의 흐름에 따른 통신링크의 변화를 양각과 전파거리에 따른 링크 여유도의 변화로 분석하였다.

밀리미터파 기반 상향링크 하이브리드 빔포밍 시스템을 위한 빔선택 방법 (Beam selection method for millimeter-wave-based uplink hybrid beamforming systems)

  • 밀리미터파(Millimeter wave) 통신 시스템은 밀리미터파 주파수 대역의 넓은 가용 주파수 자원을 이용해 높은 전송 용량을 제공할 수 있다. 밀리미터파 기반 시스템의 전송선 왜곡 허용치(link margin)를 확보하기 위해 최근 아날로그/디지털 빔포밍(beamforming)을 결합한 하이브리드(hybrid) 빔포밍 기술이 주목받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 무선 주파수 대역의 하드웨어 복잡도와 전력 소비를 절감하기 위해 이산푸리에변환(discrete Fourier transform) 기반 고정형 아날로그 빔포밍 장치를 포함하는 상향링크 하이브리드 빔포밍 시스템 구조를 소개하고, 사용자간 간섭을 제거하기 위해 기저대역 제로-포싱 (zero-forcing) 다중안테나 수신기 구조를 제시한다. 또한 고려하는 시스템의 전송 용량을 개선하기 위해 각 사용자들의 유효 채널이 서로 직교에 가깝도록 빔을 선택하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 그리고 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안하는 방법의 성능 개선 효과를 확인한다.

Analysis of Cu in Mezcal Commercial Samples using Square Wave Anodic Stripping Voltammetry

  • High concentration of copper in mezcal, a representative Mexican spirituous alcoholic beverage, is a serious problem due to the damage that it may cause to human health. A cyclic voltammetry and square wave anodic stripping voltammetry study of copper (II) in three commercial mezcal samples based on glassy carbon electrode response was undertaken. The analysis was developed using a simulated matrix solution ($EtOH/H_2O$ (1:1), 0.1 M $LiClO_4$ and AcOH/AcONa 0.05 M/0.008 M), with Cu (II) concentrations in the range 0 - 1 ppm. Direct electrochemical analysis of mezcal samples was complicated by the presence of different organic compounds in the matrix. The analytical signal of Cu (II) in the spirituous was notably improved and the interferences caused by organic compounds were minimized, by diluting the mezcal samples 10% with $EtOH/H_2O$ (1:1) solution. An efficient quantification of Cu (II) was obtained from the calibration curve by the SWASV and using the internal standard method (Cd (II)) in commercial samples (1.2-6.7 ppm); the results were correlated satisfactorily with the values obtained by AAS.

A Study on the Detection Algorithm of an Advanced Ultrasonic Signal for Hydro-acoustic Releaser

  • Methods used for exploring marine resources and spaces include positioning a probe under water and then recalling it after a specified time. Hydro-acoustic Releasers are commonly used for positioning and retrieving of such exploration equipment. The most important factor in this kind of system is the reliability for recalling the instruments. The frequently used ultrasonic signal detection method can detect ultrasonic signals using a fixed comparator, but because of increased rates of errors due to outside interferences, information is repetitively acquired. This study presents an effective ultrasonic signal detection algorithm using the characteristics of a resonance and adaptive comparator Combined with the FSK+ASK modulator. As a result, approximately 8.8% of ultrasonic wave communication errors caused by background noise and transmission losses were reduced for effectively detecting ultrasonic waves. Furthermore, the resonance circuit's quality factor was enhanced (Q = 120 to 160). As such, the bias voltage of the transistor (Vb= 3.3 to 6.8V) was increased thereby enhancing the frequency's selectivity.
