Emergency operating procedures(EOPs) of nuclear power plants should be described considering the cognitive capability and limitation of operators and provide appropriate information in the aspect of human factors. Procedures which doesn't consider cognitive characteristics of operators can become causes of human errors. In previous researches, in order to reduce these problems related to the description of EOP, an improvement suggestion for EOP writer's guide has been proposed, which is reflected human factors aspects that should be considered when describing EOPs. The proposed items, however, have a necessity to be validated because it was listed from various documents such as standards and guidelines without any special validation process. For that reason, in this study, a validation process were performed to show that procedures, which are described in compliance with the requirement items proposed in the improved EOP writer's guide, have positive effects in the aspects of human errors and performance comparing with previous procedures. Experiments were performed to compare the performances of two tasks which are described in compliance with each writer's guide of before and after the improvement During each task was performed in experiments, changes of physiological responses such as EEG and ECG were measured to evaluate the cognitive workload and the stress of operators in each task. And also, as the performance, frequencies of errors and cognition speeds of each task were evaluated. In the results of the experiment, the portions of the ${\beta}$ wave decreased in the tasks overall after the improvement. In the case of ECG, change rates of the mean of R-R interval were decreased in the tasks after improvement. In the results of the performance, the cognition and the response time of the tasks after the improvement were predominant with statistical significancies. Error times in the tasks after improvement were decreased or same to the tasks before improvement. Conclusively, it was validated that the procedures were described in compliance with the improved EOP writer's guide had effects on the reduction of human errors and improvement of performance.
When the vessel is running at the very low Froude numbers, the free-surface is difficult to be disturbed, wave-making is negligible, and the double -model velocity potential gives a very good approximation for calculating the velocity distribution just outside the boundary layer. If the speed of incident flow is gradually increased, the most perceptible change is the rise of the flow surface at stem. With further increase in speed, the nature of the flow at the bow changes completely, The flow ahead of the bow becomes more distrubed, the rise at the stem to stagnation height disappear, and the first wave crest, of less than the stagnation height, appears a small distance downstream from the stem. The present study is concerned with a small region of this flow, mainly in the bow region. The present investigation is primarily an experimental study of the flow in the bow region of s ship model, and it is undertaken in order to investigated systematically, the effect of bow geometry on this flow. The long-range objective is to use these results to guide the development of a mathematical model for predicting the flow about a ship's bow.

In order to optimize the performance of a Wells turbine with fixed guide vanes, the designs of an end plate and a ring on the tip of the turbine rotor are proposed as penetrating blade tip treatments. In this study, numerical investigations are made using computational fluid dynamics (CFD)-based ANSYS Fluent software, and validated by corresponding experimental data. The flow fields are analyzed and non-dimensional coefficients $C_A$, $C_T$ and ${\eta}$ are calculated under steady-state conditions. Numerical results show that the stalling phenomenon on a ring-type Wells turbine occurs at a flow coefficient of ${\phi}=0.36$, and its peak efficiency can reach 0.54, which is 16% higher than that of an unmodified turbine and 9% higher than in the case of an endplate-type turbine. In addition, quasi-steady analysis is used to calculate the mean efficiency and output work of a wave cycle under sinusoidal flow conditions. As a result, it has been found that the ring-type turbine is superior to other types of Wells turbines.

In this study, uncertainty analysis based on ITTC(International Towing Tank Conference) Recommended Procedures is carried out in the towing-tank experiment for motion responses and added resistance. The experiment was conducted for KVLCC2 model in head sea condition. The heave, pitch and added resistance were measured in different wave conditions, and the measurement was repeated up to maximum 15 times in each wave condition in order to observe the uncertainty of measured data. The uncertainty analysis was carried out by adopting the ISO-GUM(International Organization for Standardization, Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurements) method recommended by ITTC. This paper describes the details about the analysis method, uncertainty and the measured uncertainty for each source. The uncertainty analysis results are summarized as a tabular form. To validate the accuracy of the present measurement, the experimental results are compared with the results of numerical computation and other experiment. From the present uncertainty analysis, the main sources of uncertainty are identified, which can be very useful to improve the accuracy for added resistance experiment.

In this paper, a MMIC waveguide mixer module based upon the novel suggested mode converter for wave-guide-to-microstrip transition was fabricated and measured. The insertion and return losses of the mode converter was optimized by compensating the discontinuity effect between ridge and microstrip with the modification of 50 $\Omega$ microstrip line pattern. Due to the low loss nature of the mode converter, a millimeter wave MMIC mixer chip can be successfully applied as a waveguide module for mmW waveguide communication system. The measured results of the module showed the successful MMIC chip application in waveguide and the negligible degradation of the supplied chip specification.

In this paper the tuning characteristics of resonant frequencies are experimentally studied through the variation of the length of the inner conducting rod in a re-enterant eavity resonator. The re-enterant eavity resonator consists of a coaxial cable and a cylindrical wave guide. The length of the inner conducting rod can be varied to the longitudinal direction. The resonant frequencies of TMonq modes are measured according to the arbitrary length. In order to verify the propriety of experimental results, experimental results are compared with other theoretical results. The results in this paper can be applied to wave meter and resonant circuit of amplifier. They will be use to vary resonant frequencies of a dielectric resonator in MIC and filter.

This paper presents the analysis of resistance performance and bow waves for the resistance-minimized hull form of small fishing boat by using numerical simulations and model tests. The resistance-minimized hull form is developed from an original hull form which is selected from existing small fisher boats in our country. In order to estimate the resistance performance for the original and the developed hull form, several numerical simulations and model tests are carried out. Marker and Cell(MAC) method and Marker-Density method are adopted to simulate the free-surface bow waves around advancing hull surface. The results of numerical simulations are compared with the model tests in towing tank. The results show that the resistance performance of the resistance-minimized hull form is improved than that of the original hull form. The results of this study will be a good guide to the hull form development of small fishing boats in future.
Characterizing inflammation and fibrosis in Crohn's disease (CD) is necessary to guide clinical management, but distinguishing the two remains challenging. Novel ultrasound (US) techniques: contrast-enhanced US (CEUS) and shear wave elastography (SWE) offer great potential in evaluating disease activity in pediatric patients. Three patients ages 16 to 20 with known CD underwent CEUS and SWE to characterize bowel wall inflammation and fibrosis. Magnetic resonance enterography, endoscopy, or surgical pathology findings are also described when available. The patients' disease activity included acute inflammation, chronic inflammation with stricture formation, and a fibrotic surgical anastomosis without inflammation. CEUS was useful in determining the degree of inflammation, and SWE identified bowel wall fibrosis. Used together these techniques allow for better characterization of the degree of fibrosis and inflammation in bowel strictures. With further validation CEUS and SWE may allow for improved characterization of bowel strictures and disease flares in pediatric patients suffering from CD.

In this paper we discuss about the practical implementation of a combined CO and CO2 dual sensor module that is adapted by NDIR (Non-Dispersive Infrared) method that measures the absorbance of gas like CO and CO2 by using gas particles' characteristics that absorb specific wave lengths of infrared ray. NDIR has a long life time, excellent measurement and precision compared to the existing contact types or chemical types of CO2 sensors. Since optical cavity technology that had been developed until now can measure CO2 only we research and develop an optimal optical cavity design and density-temperature calibration technologies that can measure CO and CO2 at the same time and is important to decide the performance of the sensor module according to well-designed wave guides of the different length.

An air-to-ground guidance missile aimed to hit a main battle tank(MBT) should detect a ground moving target and estimate the target position to guide. In this paper, we detect a front ground moving target by using FMCW(Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) and estimate the position by forward-looking SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar) via scanning certain front ground section by steering a beam with narrow beamwidth left to right mechanically. Also, by MLE(Maximum Likelihood Estimation), degree of how fast the target approach or recede from the radar can be figured out from the estimated radial velocity of the moving target. Subsequently, we generate a radar image via corrected matched filter from phase history including the radial velocity.
