발전기 고정자 권선의 흡습 진단 (A Study on the Diagnosis for Water Absorption of Generator Stator Windings)

  • Water leak for the water-cooled generator stator windings affects seriously the availability and the reliability of power plants. Generally, water absorption test is conducted in the power plant during outage in order to confirm if leak part is in the bars or not. In this paper, it is described that the capacitance of winding bars is measured by using the developed water absorption instrument system and the water absorption of winding bars is evaluated by using the stochastic methods. The good results by proposed diagnosis technique can be got. It is expected that the reliability of diagnosis for water absorption is increased if the proposed methods are applied to evaluate the water absorption of stator winding bars.

Test Result Analysis of a 1MW HTS Motor for Industry Application

  • A 1 MW class HTS (High-Temperature Superconducting) synchronous motor has been developed. This motor is aimed to be utilized for industrial application such as large motors operating in large plants. The HTS field coil of the developed motor is cooled by way of neon thermo siphonmechanism and the stator (armature) coil is cooled by water through hollow copper conductor. This paper also describes evaluation of some electrical parameters from performance test results of our motor, which was conducted at steady state in generator mode and motor mode. Open and short circuit tests were conducted in generator mode while a 1.1 MW rated induction machine was rotating the HTS machine. Electrical parameters such as mutual inductance and synchronous inductance are deduced from these tests. Load test was done upto rating torque during motor mode and efficiency was measured at each load torque.

  • Power generator is one of the most important component of electricity generation system to convert mechanical energy to electrical energy. I t designed robustly to maintain high system reliability during operation time. But unexpected failure of the power generator could happen and it cause huge amount of economic and social loss. To keep it from unexpected failure, health prognostics should be carried out In this research, We developed a health prognostic method of stator windings in power generator with statistical data analysis and degradation modeling against water absorption. We divided whole 42 windings into two groups, absorption suspected group and normal group. We built a degradation model of absorption suspected winding using Fick's second law to predict upcoming absorption data. Through the analysis of data of normal group, we could figure out the distribution of data of normal windings. After that, we can properly predict absorption data of normal windings. With data prediction of two groups, we derived upcoming Directional Mahalanobis Distance (DMD) of absorption suspected winding and time vs DMD curve. Finally we drew the probability distribution of Remaining Useful Life of absorption suspected windings.

  • An absorption heat pump cycle has been modeled and simulated to analyze the system performance of water-cooled, series-flow, double-effect absorption heat pump, which can be applied to a direct gas fired cooling system with the medium range of cooling capacity (15RT level). Effect of absorption cooling system parameters, such as concentration difference, inlet temperature of cooling water, 1st generator temperature, leaving temperature differences of condenser and evaporator and efficiency of solution heat exchanger, has been investigated in the view of system cooling performance.

고정자 권선용 F종 주절연 테이프의 전기적 특성 (Electrical characteristics of class-F groundwall insulation tapes for stator windings)

  • Class-F and B resin-rich type insulating tapes are generally used for the ground wall insulations of respective air-cooled and water-cooled stator windings in larger turbine generators. In this paper, their electrical properties coupled with aging times in higher temperature than designed one in normal condition were experimentally investigated and the results of two comparative tests were presented on the existing class-F resin-rich type tape and a developed one after curing. The resin-rich tapes currently used arc composed of six and a half 3-layer sheets that arc structured with mica paper, the top and bottom supports of it respectively, and the epoxy resin to bind them tightly. The results for breakdown voltage and strength on the cured specimens were presented, which were composed of the unaged, the aged accelerated for one, two, and three thousand hours at 180 $^{\circ}C$. The surface and volume resistivities on them were measured and the results are also presented to make a comparative test for the initial electrical characteristics.

  • 발전기 고정자 권선의 냉각수 누수는 발전기 운전 중 절연 파괴를 발생시켜 발전소 불시정지를 발생시킬 뿐만 아니라 권선 손상에 따른 정비 기간 및 비용이 매우 많이 소요된다. 따라서 발전기 고정자 권선의 냉각수 누수가 발생하였을 때 재앙이 일어나기 전에 고정자 권선 절연물의 흡습 상태를 진단하는 것은 예방 정비 측면에서 매우 효과적인 정비 방안이라고 할 수 있겠다. 본 논문에서는 발전기 고정자 권선에 흡습여부를 알아보기 위하여 여러 가지 확률분포를 이용하여 판정기준값을 유도하였다. 또한, 유도된 판정기준값을 바탕으로 실제 관측된 자료를 이용하여 흡습여부를 판단하였다.

공랭식 가스터빈 발전기의 운전중 부분방전 분석 (Analysis of On-Line Partial Discharge in Air-Coolded Gas Turbine Generator)

  • The on-line partial discharge (PD) in stator windings of air-cooled gas turbine (GT) generator (119.2MVA, 13.8kV) is measured and analyzed in this paper. This generator was designed by global vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI). The generator failed two times at top bar (16T) of phase B in the stator slot. Six epoxy-mica capacitors were installed in three phases of GT generator. On-line PD test was performed on GT generator using turbine generator analyzer (TGA). TGA showed that the normalized quantity number (NQN) and the PD magnitude($Q_m$) were high in phase B. Internal discharges were generated in phases A, B and C. The trend analysis of NQN and $Q_m$ value are obtained in order to monitor the insulation condition in GT generator stator windings. Phases A and C were in good condition. But phase B had deteriorated significantly

Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) based Defect Characterization of Steam Generator Tubes using Artificial Neural Networks

  • Material defects in the Steam Generator Tubes (SGT) of sodium cooled fast breeder reactor (PFBR) can lead to leakage of water into sodium. The water and sodium reaction will lead to major accidents. Therefore, the examination of steam generator tubes for the early detection of defects is an important requirement for safety and economic considerations. In this work, the Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) based Non Destructive Testing (NDT) technique is used to perform the defect detection process. The rectangular notch defects on the outer surface of steam generator tubes are modeled using COMSOL multiphysics 4.3a software. The obtained MFL images are de-noised to improve the integrity of flaw related information. Grey Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) features are extracted from MFL images and taken as input parameter to train the neural network. A comparative study on characterization have been carried out using feed-forward back propagation (FFBP) and cascade-forward back propagation (CFBP) algorithms. The results of both algorithms are evaluated with Mean Square Error (MSE) as a prediction performance measure. The average percentage error for length, depth and width are also computed. The result shows that the feed-forward back propagation network model performs better in characterizing the defects.

  • A cycle analysis was achieved to predict the characteristics by comprehensive modeling and simulation of an air-cooled, double-effect absorption system using a new $H_2O/LiBr+HO(CH_2)_3OH$ solution. The simulation results showed that the new working fluid may provide the crystallization limit 8% higher than the conventional $H_2O/LiBr$ solution. With a crystallization margin of 3wt%(weight%), the optimal solution distribution ratio was found in the range of 36 to 40%. Variation of cooling air Inlet temperature has a sensitive effect on the cooling COP and corrosion problem. The simulation of heat exchangers with UA value revealed that the absorber and the evaporator are relatively important for an air-cooled system compared with the condenser and the low temperature generator. The effect of cooling air flow rate, circulation weak solution flow rate and chilled water inlet temperature were also examined. The new working fluid may provide the COP approximately 5% higher than the conventional $H_2O/LiBr$ solution.

  • 원통형 초음속 디퓨저를 사용하면 추진기관에서 발생하는 고온 연소가스의 모맨텀을 이용하여 비교적 간단하게 안정된 고고도 환경을 모사할 수 있다. 디퓨저를 이용한 고공모사 시험에서 추진기관의 연소시간이 긴 경우, 고온의 연소가스가 디퓨저 내 벽면에 직접 탈기 때문에 반복적인 사용을 위해 이 부위에 대한 냉각대책이 필요하다. 디퓨저 내부로 분사되는 냉각수가 디퓨저 작동특성에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 축소형 연소실험을 수행하였으며, 본 논문은 실험방법과 그 결과에 대해 기술하고 있다. 고체 추진제를 연료로 하는 가스발생기를 이용하여 추진기관을 모사하였으며, 일반 수돗물을 냉각제로 사용하였다.
