천연해수 용액에서 STS 304와 용융 알루미늄 도금된 STS 304의 캐비테이션-침식 환경 하에서의 전기화학적 특성 (Electrochemical Characteristics under Cavitation-Erosion Environment of STS 304 and Hot-Dip Aluminized STS 304 in Sea Water Solution)

  • In this paper, the characteristics of a cavitation-erosion damage behavior on the STS 304 and hot-dip aluminized STS 304 under cavitation environment in sea water solution was investigated. The electrochemical experiments were carried out by potential measurement, anodic/cathodic polarization test, Tafel analysis, and also galvanostatic experiment in current density variables for the samples. The apparatus of cavitation-electrochemical experiment was manufactured in compliance with modified ASTM G-32 standard, with the conditions of sea water temperature of $25^{\circ}C$ and the measurement, amplitude of $30{\mu}m$. The damage behavior was analyzed by an observation of surface mophologies and a measurement of damage depth by a scanning electron microscope(SEM) and a 3D microscope, respectively, after electrochemical test. After polarization experiment under cavitation environment, much higher damage depths for the hot-dip aluminized STS 304 were observed comparing to the untreated STS 304. In addition, higher corrosion current density in hot-dip aluminized STS 304 presented than that of untreated STS 304 as a result of Tafel analysis.

  • ENIG(Electroless Nickel Immersion Gold)is a surface treatment method that is used most widely at fine pitch's SMT and BGA packaging process. ENIG has good diffusion barrier of Ni against solder and good wettability due to Au finish. But when the discoloration occurred on the Au finish of ENIG, some key characteristics related to the quality and reliability of PCB such as bondability, solderability and electrical flowing of packaging process could be deteriorated. In this paper, we have performed the water dip test ($88^{\circ}C$ purified water) which accelerates the galvanic corrosion of Ni diffused from the Ni-P layer. That is, the excessive oxidation of the Ni layer could result in non-wetting of the solder because the flux may not be able to remove excessive oxides. Though Au discoloration have been reported to be caused by Ni oxides in many literature, it is still open to verify and discuss The microstructures and chemical compositions have been investigated using FE-SEM, TEM, FIB, EDS and XPS. As a result, authors have found that the Au discoloration in ENIG type is severely caused by the oxidation of the Ni and the mechanism of Au discoloration can be confirmed through the experiment result of water dip test.

태양전지 효율 향상용 졸-겔 법에 의한 반사방지 코팅막의 제조 (Preparation of the Anti-Reflective(AR) Coating Film by Sol-Gel Method to Improve the Efficiency of Solar Cell)

  • This study investigates the preparation of anti-reflective (AR) coating film to improve the efficiency of solar cell. The AR coating film was successfully obtained by dip-coating with AR coatings prepared by sol-gel method. Fluoroalkylsilane was additionally introduced into the coatings to give the self-cleaning effect of AR coating film. We performed the abrasion test, pencil scratch hardness test and cross-cut test to identify the mechanical strength of AR coating film. As the results, the transmittance of AR coating films with 9.07, 18.13 and 27.20 of IPA/MTMS molar ratios were 93.1, 93.6 and 95.3%, respectively. The water contact angle and transmittance of AR coating film increased by the introduction of hydrophobicity. The prepared AR coating film shows the high level of abrasion, hardness and adhesion. The IPA/MTMS molar ratio of 27.20 and the withdrawing speed range of 0.20 ~ 0.28cm/sec are the optimal coating condition in terms of the transmittance and mechanical strength of AR coating film.

  • 우수한 분획특성을 가지는 친수성 고분자인 poly(acrylonitrile) [PAN]을 막소재로 하여 상전환법(phase inversion method)으로 복합막의 지지층으로 사용될 지지막을 제조하였으며, 한외여과 실험을 통하여 지지막의 특성인 순수 투과도와 분획분자량을 측정하였다. 이 지지막 표면에 poly(acrylic acid) [PAA]를 dip-coating 시켜 열처리한 복합막을 제막하고 에탄올 수용액의 투과증발 분리특성을 고찰하였다. PAN 지지막의 UF 특성은 순수의 투과유속이 $0.17~31\textrm{mm}^3/m^{2} \cdot s \cdot Pa$, 분획분자량이 42,000~150,000의 막을 얻었다. 복합막의 투과유속과 분리계수는 지지막의 기공구조 변화에 상당한 영향을 받고 있음을 알 수 있으며, 지지층의 분획분자량의 증가에 따라 투과유속은 감소하였고 분리계수는 공급원액의 농도에 따라 약간의 변화를 보였다.

도암호에서 하절기 수질의 장기적인 경향 (Long-term Trends of Summer Season of Water Quality in Lake Doam)

  • In the summer season (June~August) during the study period of Lake Doam, average concentrations of major water quality parameters, COD, SS, TN, and TP were 4.0, 16.2, 3.129 and $0.077mg\;L^{-1}$, respectively, and Chl-a was $11.8mg\;m^{-3}$. The result has indicated that Lake Doam was a meso-eutrotrophic lake. Lake Doam data from the summer season (June~August), precipitation from 2001 to 2012, and water quality (COD, SS, TN, TP, Chl-a etc.) of seven years (2001, 2002, 2004 and 2009~2012), were statistically analyzed for long-term trends by Mann-Kendall test and Sen's slope estimator methods. The statistical results showed that precipitation, SD, COD, TN, $NO_3-N$, $NH_3-N$ and Chl-a had decreasing trends, and EC, turbidity, SS, TP and DIP had increasing trends. Suspended solids and total phosphorus were directly affected by precipitation. In the case of suspended solids, more aggressive and constructive plans need to be implemented than the current turbidity reduction project to achieve the targeted water quality ($5mg\;L^{-1}$ of SS) in Lake Doam. In particular, we need to specify a project that considers the steep topographic characteristics of high, land farming areas and precipitation conditions of the Lake Doam watershed, which can increase the efficiency of a turbidity reduction project.

가압부상법을 이용한 부영양저수지의 수질개선 (Application of Dissolved Air Flotation Technique to Improve Eutrophic Reservoir Water Quality)

  • 본 연구는 PAC를 응집제로 사용한 가압부상법에 의한 부영양저수지의 수질과 퇴적물의 개선효과를 평가하기 수행되었다. 얕은 부영양 저수지에 설치한 mesocosm에서 (가로 ${\times}$ 세로 ${\times}$ 높이: 6 ${\times}$ 6 ${\times}$ 3 m), 입자성물질과 용존성물질의 변화와 노즐에 의한 퇴적물 교란 전 ${\cdot}$ 후의 퇴적물로부터 인용출률을 조사하였다. 부유물질 (SS)과 휘발성고형물의 제거효율은 각각 54.4 ${\sim}$ 71.2%와 57.3 ${\sim}$ 78.5%였다. 총인과 엽록소 a 농도는 제거효율은 각각 73.5 ${\sim}$ 91.5%, 53.7 ${\sim}$ 97.8% 였다. 생화학적 산소요구량은 86% 이상의 제거효율을 나타냈으나 화학적 산소요구량의 제거효율은 28.9 ${\sim}$ 62.8%로 낮았다. 조류의 성장에 쉽게 이용될 수 있는 용존무기인 (DIP)과 용존총인은 각각 34.1 ${\sim}$ 88.2%와 61.8 ${\sim}$ 87.6%의 제거효율을 나타냈다. 퇴적물 부상분리 전 호기적 조건과 혐기적 조건의 산소 환경에서 용존무기인 용출율은 각각 0.821 mg $m^{-2}$$day^{-1}$과 2.270 mg $m^{-2}$$day^{-1}$이였다. 반면에 부상분리 후에는 각각0.684 mg $m^{-2}$$day^{-1}$와 1.760 mg $m^{-2}$$day^{-1}$로 호기적 조건에서는 17%, 혐기적 조건에서는 23%정도의 감소효과를 나타냈다. 용존총인 용출율 또한 가압부상 후에 호기적 조건과 혐기적 조건에서 각각 33% (5.62 ${\to}$ 3.78 mg $m^{-2}$$day^{-1}$)와 20% (6.23 ${\to}$ 4.99 mg $m^{-2}$$day^{-1}$)의 감소가 나타났다. 이러한 결과들은 가압부상시 수체 내 입자상물질의 제거 뿐만 아니라 퇴적물로 부터의 인용출이 억제되므로 얕은 부영양 저수지의 수질개선을 위한 효과적인 대안이 될 수 있음을 제시한다.

Enhanced Moisture Resistance of Salt Core through 2D Kaolinite Colloidal Solution Coating

  • This study aimed to improve the moisture resistance of salt cores by investigating the suitability of a two-dimensional kaolinite colloidal solution and a commercially available SiO2 ink solution as coating agents. X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) results showed that the intercalation of urea into kaolinite did not significantly change its layer structure. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images revealed that the dip-coating only affected the surface of the salt core, and the texture of the surface is differ depending on the coating solution. The humidity absorption test results showed that both coatings reduced the hygroscopicity of the salt core by more than 50%. However, in the water-solubility test, the kaolinite dissolved with the salt core, whereas the SiO2-coated salt core left a residue. These results strongly suggest that with the coating of the exfoliated kaolinite solution, salt core will remain stable in humid environments.

  • Sapwood samples of pitch pine were treated with disodium octaborate alone by dip-diffusion, or in combination with water-repellent preservative(WRP) and methyl metacrylate(MMA). Treated samples were subjected to an accelerated leaching test for determining the improvement of leaching resistance and to soft rot and mold tests for evaluating the increase in bioefficacy, due to the addition of WRP and MMA applied as a second treatment. The addition of WRP and MMA retarded leaching of boron to some extent from treated samples and this retardation can be explained by improved water repellency of WRP and MMA treated samples. Borate /WRP and borate /MMA systems will not qualify borate treated wood for ground and fresh water contact use but may improve performance of borate treated wood in above-ground applications not subjected to continuous wetting conditions. Bioefficacy against soft rot fungi and mold fungi was improved by a second treatment with WRP. However, improvement in the performance of borate /MMA systems was not observed. Considering improvement in both resistance of leaching and bioefficacy against micro fungi by the treatment of WRP and MMA, simultaneously, the dual treatment of borate treated wood by MMA containing co-biocides might be believed as an ideal treatment system.

TEOS-PEG계 Sol-Gel코팅에 의한 세라믹 분리 막의 제조 및 특성 (Characterization of Ceramic Composite-Membranes Prepared by TEOS-PEG Coating Sol)

  • Sol-gel 공정에 의해 제조된 세라믹 분리 막은 보다 순수한 재료를 이용할 수 있고, 균일성을 향상시킬 수 있을 뿐 아니라 다양한 복합체도 넓은 범위에서 반응을 유도할 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있어 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 sc,1-gel 공정을 이용하여 Tetraethyl ortho-silicate(TEOS)-Polyethylene glycol(PEG)계 organically modified silicate(ORMOSt)sol을 합성하였다. Polymer분자량을 변수로 하여 sol 합성 후 특성 변화를 점도와 겔화 시간을 측정함으로써 관찰하였다. 합성된 sol을 다공성 담체 위에 dip-coating법을 이용하여 막을 제조하였으며, SEM관찰을 통해 분리 막의 미세구조를 확인하였다. 합성 복합 막의 Oil/water 에멀젼의 처리효율을 cross-flow 타입의 막 분리 장치를 이용하여 확인하였다. Ormosilsol은 유기물의 분자량이 증가될수록 보다 쉽게 코팅 층을 형성 시킬 수 있었고, 담체를 용매에 담지 시켜 코팅 물질이 담체의 기공내로 침투될 때의 모세관력을 줄임으로써 크랙이 방지된 얇은 막을 얻을 수 있었다. Colloidal sol 코팅 막에 비해 ormosil sol코팅 막은 분리효율 뿐 아니라 flux 특설이 시험 5분경과 시점에서 약 $200\;l/m^2h$이상 향상되었음을 확인 할 수 있었다.

연료극 지지체식 원통형 고체산화물 연료전지의 성능 특성 (Performance Characteristics of Anode-Supported Tubular Solid Oxide Fuel Cell)

  • To improve the conventional cathode-supported tubular solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) from the viewpoint of low cell power density, expensive fabrication process and high operation temperature, the anode-supported tubular solid oxide fuel cell was investigated. The anode tube of Ni-8mol% $Y_2$O$_3$-stabilized $ZrO_2$ (8YSZ) was manufactured by extrusion process, and, the electrolyte of 8YSZ and the multi-layered cathode of $LaSrMnO_3$(LSM)ILSM-YSZ composite/$LaSrCoFeO_3$ were coated on the surface of the anode tube by slurry dip coating process, subsequently. Their cell performances were examined under gases of humidified hydrogen with 3% water and air. In the thermal cycle condition of heating and cooling rates with $3.33^{\circ}C$/min, the anode-supported tubular cell showed an excellent resistance as compared with the electrolyte-supported planar cell. The optimum hydrogen flow rate was evaluated and the air preheating increased the cell performance due to the increased gas temperature inside the cell. In long-term stability test, the single cell indicated a stable performance of 300 mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 0.85 V for 255 hr.
