Controlling Spillway Gates of Dams Using Dynamic Fuzzy Control

  • Controlling spillway gates of dams is a complex, nonlinear, non-stationary control process and is significantly affected by hydrological conditions which are not predictable beforehand. In this paper, control methods based on dynamic fuzzy control are proposed for the operation of spillway gates of dams during floods. The proposed methods are not only suitable for controlling spillway gates but also able to maintain target water level in order to prepare a draught. In the proposed methods, we use dynamic fuzzy control that the membership functions can be varied by changing environment conditions for keeping up the target water level, instead of conventional static fuzzy control. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed methods based on dynamic fuzzy control produce an accurate and efficient solution for both of controlling spillway gates and maintaining target water level defined beforehand.

정수 슬러지 발생량 조사 및 슬러지 처리시설의 공정평가 (Research of Sludge Quantity and Evaluation of Sludge Handling Facilities in Water Treatment Plants)

  • Sludge quantity has increased at "A"water treatment plant due to deterioration of raw water quality and GAC installation. Increased sludge resulted in overloading on sludge handling facilities. The object of this study is to survey sludge quantity and capacity of sludge handling facilities at "A"water treatment plant. Measured quantity of sedimentation sludge considerably exceeded the design capacity of sludge holding basin. Sludge holding basin was properly designed, but low concentration of sludge discharged from sedimentation basin caused production of large volume of the sludge. Timer operated control system for sludge withdrawal unit and leakage through a control valve were suspected to cause the low concentration. Augmentation of the control system by a turbidity meter and addition of a new control valve successfully reduced the sludge volume enough to satisfy the design capacity of sludge holding basin. Unlike sedimentation sludge, measured quantity of washwater was considerably less than the design capacity of washwater basin because it was over-designed.

  • Recently, Many water treatment facilities are operated by automatic control or by remote control. These high technology control systems require more stable power supply than before. Badly most automatic control systems adopted in water treatment facilities are non-linear load which generates electrical harmonics inevitably. This study is intended to measure and analyze the electrical harmonics occurred at the chemicals control device which is inverter application circuit, and to show the Method for reduction.

스마트 하수처리장 도입에 필요한 운전제어기술에 관한 연구 (A Study on Operation Control Technology Required for Introduction of Intelligent Sewage Treatment Plant)

  • 스마트(Smart) 하수처리장은 하수처리 전 과정에 대한 ICT 기반의 실시간 모니터링, 원격 제어 관리 및 지능화 체계를 구축하여 안전하고 깨끗한 물환경을 조성하는 것을 의미한다. 이러한 스마트 하수처리장의 핵심이 되는 기술이 계측기를 활용한 운전제어 기술이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구진은 국내에서 진행중인 하수처리장 지능화 연구사업들을 참고하여 지능화사업 구축 시 필요한 운전제어 기술들을 분석하고 제시하였다. 분석 결과 규모별 제어, 반류수 제어, 연계처리수 제어, 약품량 제어, 동절기 운영제어, 총 유기탄소 제어까지 총 6개의 제거 기술에 대해 제시하였다. 규모별로는 소규모와 중규모 대규모로 구분할 수 있는 기준을 제시하였고, 반류수 제어의 경우 반류수를 관리할 수 있는 수질 및 유량 센서의 위치를 제시하였다. 연계처리수 제어의 경우 연계처리수가 하수처리장에 미치는 영향과 제어 지점을 제시하였으며, 약품주입량 제어의 경우 지능형 하수처리장 도입에 따라 약품 주입량을 최적화할 수 있는 시스템을 제시하였다. 동절기 운영의 경우 수온 저하에 따른 질산화 저하를 고려하였을 때 제어해야 하는 센서와 펌프를 제시하였다. 총 유기탄소 제어의 경우 향후 오염총량제를 고려한 연동 시스템을 제시하였다. 이러한 운전제어 시나리오들은 향후 지능형 하수처리 알고리즘과 시나리오에 사용될 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

전자제어 장치를 이용한 세라믹 파이프의 온수제어기 개발 (A Controller Development of Water Heating in a Ceramic Pipe Using Electronics Control System)

  • 본 논문은 원통형 세라믹관에서 온수를 순간적으로 가열하여 설정된 온도 및 수량으로 제어하고자 전자 제어기를 개발하였다. 순간온수기의 구조는 유입되는 온수가 원통형 세라믹 히터를 통하여 열량을 공급하여 온도를 제어하고자 설계하였고, 또한 수량센서와 임펠러를 이용한 수량을 제어하는 전자 제어기를 설계하였다. 순간온수의 제어방법은 유입되는 유량에 열량을 공급하는 원통형 세라믹 히터의 수학적인 모델링을 수립하여 제어기 적용하였고, 이에 대한 실험결과는 설정온도에 따라 제어가 잘 적용되어, 효율적이고 실용성 결과를 보였다. 따라서 원통형 세라믹 순간온수기는 향후 실용제품에 적용할 수 있는 제품구조와 제어 방법을 제시하였다.

전탕시간(煎湯時間)에 따른 생대황(生大黃) 및 주대황(酒大黃)이 어혈병태모형(瘀血病態模型)에 미치는 영향(影響) (The Effects of Alcohol-Steamed Rhei Rhizoma and Row Rhei Rhizoma on varied Extraction Time in Blood Stasis Model)

  • In order to investigate the effects of Alcohol-Steamed Rhei Rhizoma and Row Rhei Rhizoma on varied extract time in both endotoxin-induced blood stasis model(hereafter Endotoxin Model) and hydrocortisone acetate-induced blood stasis model (hereafter HA Model), Half of rats were treated with endotoxin(0.4mg/kg, single Ⅳ, into caudal vein) for Endotoxin Model. Thereafter, they were orally administrated water extract of Alcohol-Steamed Rhei Rhizoma or Row Rhei Rhizoma, which were boiled during 30, 60, 120 minute, respectively. Finally, the number of platelet, fibrinogen, prothrombin time, hematocrit, the number of RBC and WBC were measured after sacrifice. The remainder rats were treated with hydrocortisone acetate(10mg/kg, daily IM for 7 days into the muscular rump) for HA significantly decreased. Together, they were orally administrated for 7 days water extract of Alcohol-Steamed Rhei Rhizoma or Row Rhei Rhizoma that were boiled above methods Finally, the number of platelet, fibrinogen, prothrombin time, hematocrit, the number of RBC and WBC were measured after sacrifice. The results were summarized as follows : 1. The number of platelet was significantly increased in boiled water extract for 30 min of Row Rhei Rhizoma group as compared with that of control group in Endotoxin Model. 2. Fibrinogen level was significantly increased in all administration groups as compared with that of control group in Endotoxin Model. It was significantly increased in all administration groups except boiled water extract for 30 min of Alcohol-Steamed Rhei Rhizoma group as compared with that of control group in HA Model. 3. Prothrombin time was significantly shortened in boiled water extract for 60 min of Alcohol-Steamed Rhei Rhizoma group and boiled water extract for 120 min of Alcohol-Steamed Rhei Rhizoma group as compared with that of control group in Endotoxin Model It was significantly shortened all administration groups as compared with that of control group in HA Model. 4 Hematocrit was significantly increased in all administered groups except boiled water extract for 60 min of Alcohol-Steamed Rhei Rhizoma group and boiled water extract for 30 min of Row Rhei Rhizoma group as compared with that of control group in Endotoxin Model. It was significantly increased in all administration groups as compared with that of control group in HA Model. 5. The number of RBC was significantly decreased in boiled water extract for 60 min of Alcohol-Steamed Rhei Rhizoma group, boiled water extract for 120 min of Alcohol -Steamed Rhei Rhizoma group and boiled water extract for 30 min of Row Rhei Rhizoma administered group in Endotoxin Model. It was significantly increased boiled water extract for 30 min of Row Rhei Rhizoma group and boiled water extract for 60 min of Row Rhei Rhizoma group in HA Model as compared with data of control group. 6 The number of WBC was significantly decreased in all administered groups except boiled water extract for 30 min of Alcohol-Steamed Rhei Rhizoma group and boiled water extract for 60 min of Alcohol-Steamed Rhei Rhizoma group as compared with that of control group in HA Model.

  • In this paper, we propose a remote control system which is used by internet network system in the small water booster supply. So far, TMTC(Tele Metering Tele Control) has been used to control and monitor small water booster pump. But it is possible and easy to control and observe local booster panel with the rapid development of internet, This new system is to provide operators and managers with sufficient information and control in order to implement the operation in an efficient and economical way. This system consists of three parts that are controller, netpump server and netview client. Controller has a dual architecture. The motive for installing controller is the continuous production and supply of drinking water.

  • This paper represents the construction of a PLC simulator for the level control of water and the speed control of the water cask. The level and speed processes are automatically operated by the PLC. The simulator system consists of PLC, program loader and control penal. The digital input and output units make the valves of the water cask the On or Off state. The analog input and output units control the level of water and the speed of the water cask. A LD program is used in the control language of PLC.

A Study of the Technical Treatment within an Environmental Appetency for the Ballast Water

  • In accordance with adoption of new convention for the control of ship's ballast water at the diplomatic conference held in London Feb, 2004, every country has to regulate the ballast water and deposit matters. When this Resolution comes into effect in 2009, all vessels engaged in international voyage must have ballast water control program, ballast water records, equipments which are suitable to the standard of exchange and performance for the ballast water. This study estimates objectively their performances, merits and demerits of the ballast water treatment technique and exchanging techniques for safe operation of ships. It is desirable to design an equipment to control the ballast water using the brush-type vacuum suction nonstop reverse cleaning system to overcome the clogging phenomenon and the direct disc filtering to maximize filtering area for the optimum process considering biological availabilities. It will be expected to protect against marine pollution and to maintain clean sea if it is secured to develop new ballast water treatment techniques. And it will also be expected to cope with the Resolution and each regulation of the developed countries from the ballast water.

  • Using a surplus head in presented water supply pipes, we have studied to improve the operating efficiency of small hydro generator, which was chosen for a test model with 00 hydro power plant. With regard to power control and countermeasure of water hammer impact, Finally we have represented the optimal control method through the synthetical analysis of existing system symptoms, operation efficiency, the effect of water hammer impact and system configuration.
