Application of Realtime Monitoring of Oceanic Conditions in the Coastal Water for Environmental Management

  • This study describes the realtime monitoring system for water quality conditions in coastal waters. Some issues on the data qualify control and quality analysis are examined along with examples of erroneous data. Three different cases of database produced by the realtime monitoring system are presented and analyzed, namely 1) hypoxic condition, 2) over-saturated D.O. and 3) short-term variability of temperature and D.O. In utilizing the realtime database, D.O. prediction and warning models are developed based on autoregressive stochastic process. The model is very simple, yet, users in various levels from powerful and useful with its ability to send warning messages to users in varous levels from governmental administrative staff to local fisherman, and give them some allowances to cope with the situation.

  • 본 논문은 주행 중의 졸음방지를 목적으로 하는 각성시스템의 평가에 관한 연구이다. 졸음운전을 방지하는 데에는 각성도의 저하상태를 높은 정확도로 검출하는 기술과 그것을 해소하는 기술이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 졸음운저자를 위해서 졸음각성시스템을 향상시켰다. 개발된 각성시스템의 평가를 위해서 졸음을 유도하는 단조로운 행위를 수행하면서 뇌파, 심전도, 안전도와 같은 생체신호를 측정하였다. 피험자가 졸음상태에 있을 때에 산소, 향, 여러 가지 색 자극을 제시함으로써 각성효과를 평가하였다. 졸음의 해소에 효율적인 일정한 양의 산소와 멘톨 성분이 함유된 향을 동시에 각성자극으로 제시하였을 때와, 노란색의 색 자극을 주었을 때 가장 각성에 효과적임을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • This paper described a New-Concept lightning warning system (LWS) which can measure electric field intensity on the ground level by an electric field mill (EFM) and calculate the lighting location by radiated electro-magnetic waveform. The EFM measures electric field up to 20[kV/m] with the sensitivity of 0.15[V/kV/m] and frequency bandwidth of the loop antenna was ranges from 5.2[kHz] to 1.71[MHz]. The LWS provides data on the movements of thunderclouds and the possibility of lightning return stroke.

  • Project의 Quality, Cost, Delivery의 세 가지 목표를 달성하기 위해서는 프로젝트 Risk의 조기 인식 및 대처는 프로젝트 성공의 가장 중요한 요소가 되고 있다 Project Risk는 1)프로젝트의 이해관계자(고객, 협력회사)간의 재무적, 법률적 Risk [수주 Risk]와 2)프로젝트 수행상의 제품공학, 개발환경, 외부제약조건 등의 Risk [수행 Risk]로 나눌 수 있으며, 수주 Risk는 분석 결과가 수행 Risk의 식별, Monitoring에 직접적으로 반영되어야 한다. 프로젝트 수행 Risk는 조기에 식별하고 정량적/정성적 영향을 분석하여 대응계획을 수립하여 지속적으로 Monitoring함으로서 영향을 최소화할 수 있으므로 Risk를 조기 식별하고 경보할 수 있는 시스템(EWS: Early Warning System)의 구축 운영이 반드시 필요하다. 본문에서는 프로젝트 Risk에 대한 분석 및 대웅방안, 프로젝트관리시스템 및 조기경보체계의 표준, 상호간의 관계에 대하여 SK C&C에서 수립하여 적용중인 실증적인 해법을 제시 하고자 한다.

  • FMCW(Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave) Radar is very useful for vehicle collision warning system because of the simplicity. In this work, a signal processing part of FMCW vehicle radar system is implemented with flexibility using DSP, FPGA, ADC, and DAC so that the system could adopt lots of algorithm and could be improved through road test. It is shown that the system meets basic requirements as designed, and finds some problems in road test. We briefly discuss the problem which are caused by shadow effect from overlapped target and the distortion of beat frequency from the nonlinearity of VCO and the RCS of vehicle.

  • The syndromic surveillance system is designed to identify illness clusters before diagnoses are confirmed and reported to public health agencies, to provide rapid public health response, and thereby to reduce morbidity and mortality. Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) has implemented the emergency department-based syndromic surveillance system. To design upgraded and enhanced functions of the current syndromic surveillance system in KCDC for the early warning of adverse disease events, we surveyed many papers. This paper describes the operation status of syndromic surveillance system in other countries and the improvement of the syndromic surveillance system in KCDC.

  • Lane Keeping Assistance System(LKAS) is a kind of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems(ADAS) which are developed to automate/ adapt/ enhance vehicle systems for safety and better driving. The main system function of LKAS is to support the driver in keeping the vehicle within the current lane. LKAS acquires information on the position of the vehicle within the lane and, when required, sends commands to actuators to influence the lateral movement of the vehicle. Recently, the vehicles equipped with LKAS are commercially available in a few vehicle-advanced countries and the installation of LKAS increases for safety enhancement. The test procedures for LKAS evaluations are being discussed and developed in international committees such as ISO(the International Organization for Standardization). In Korea, the evaluations of LKAS for vehicle safety are planned to be introduced in 2016 KNCAP(Korean New Car Assessment Program). Therefore, the test procedures of LKAS suitable for domestic road and traffic conditions, which accommodate international standards, should be developed. In this paper, some bullet points of the test procedures for LKAS are discussed by extensive researches of previous documents and reports, which are released in public in regard to lateral test procedures including LKAS and Lane Departure Warning System(LDWS). Later, it can be helpful to make a draft considering domestic traffic situations for test procedures of LKAS.
