  • The forms of current war are diversified over the pan-national industry. Among these, one kind of threats which has permeated the cyber space based on the advanced information technology causes a new type of war. C4ISR, the military IT revolution, as a integrated technology innovation of Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance suggests that the aspect of the future war hereafter is changing much. In this paper, we design the virtual decoy system and intrusion trace marking mechanism which can capture various attempts and evidence of intrusion by hackers in cyber space, trace the penetration path and protect a system. By the suggested technique, we can identify and traceback the traces of intrusion in cyber space, or take a legal action with the seized evidence.

  • Wharton Esherick (1887-1970) is the pioneer of the Studio Furniture movement which was emerging after the Second World War in the United States. As Esherick began to work on his studio at Paoli, Pennsylvania from 1926, he became enormously influential in the Stuido Furniture movement until his death in 1972. He was connecting the English Arts and Crafts ideal to the post-war craft revival. As the work of William Morris did, in the period of consumerism Esherick's furniture gave a chance to purchase unique furniture to people who wanted a different taste. Not only his furniture is unique and hand-crafted also has sculptural quality which made his followers to see furniture as a different possibilities. His work was influential to the people who followed him after the war such as Arthur Carpenter, Wendell Castle, and Sam Maloof. In the roots of the craft revival, it is hard to underestimate the contribution of Esherick's notion of sculptural furniture.

  • Even though Sino-American relations of the Donald Trump era were perceived as predominately confrontational, with a symbolic trade war between the two, the scale of economic interdependencies between the United States and China results in either a need for collaboration or in serious losses on both sides in the case of lack of cooperation. The paper aims at analyzing economic relations between the United States of America and the People's Republic of China at the time of the Trump presidency. Analysis is based on the complex interdependence theory of Robert Keohane and Joseph Nye. The main hypothesis analyzed in the paper states: Asymmetric interdependence between the People's Republic of China and the United States of America limits the scope, intensity and length of a trade war. For the sake of the paper, economic interdependence will be analyzed. Apart from the reference to the state of the art, the document analysis and descriptive statistics are to be applied in the paper.

  • The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement, signed in November 2020, comes shortly after the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) entered into force and the US-China Trade War escalated. We use a computable general equilibrium model to assess the long-term effects of these three developments on income, trade, economic structure, factor returns and employment across the world, and especially in Asia-Pacific countries. The results suggest that RCEP could generate income gains that will be almost twice as large as those of the CPTPP, and that the two agreements together will largely offset the substantial negative effects of the US-China Trade War for the world as a whole. All three policy developments, but especially RCEP, will deepen East Asian production networks and will raise productivity and increase wages and employment in much of East Asia. At the sectoral level, regional trade in non-durable and durable manufactures will experience the most growth.

  • The purpose of this paper is to establish a methodology useful for identifying links between the postwar novels of Spain and Korea. We analyze the lives and actions of the characters from Nada by Carmen Laforet, and Writing on blank paper by Oh Sang Won. The characters in these novels demonstrate the challenge of adapting to the harsh reality of life because of the psychological or physical scars of war: characters such as Jungsub and Jungseo in Writing on blank paper and Juan and Andrea in Nada finally overcome their difficulties thanks to a shared sense of existential conscience and a steadfast fighting spirit; others, like Jungyun and Roman, surrender to the struggle and commit suicide, tragically succumbing to the bitter harshness of reality. Through the analysis of these novels' characters, we can empathize with the common tragedy of war-time life and death; we gain perspective on the destruction of both society and people caused by war.

  • In 2003, the differing stances about the war in Iraq created a major diplomatic crisis among European countries. Considering various clues which have steadily emerged, this paper refutes the relevance of the debate about weapons of mass destruction and analyses the real motivations for these distinct positions through Europe: the role of the US in the transatlantic relationship, expectations towards the EU and the weight of public opinion. Then, it examines how these intrinsic divergences of political views and interests explain the difficulties encountered in implementing the European Security and Defence Policy and concludes on the keys issues which need to be addressed.

  • This paper focuses on historical instances of iconoclasm after the Reformation to reveal how iconoclasm had greatly contributed to the formation of the Protestant mindset in the early modern times. During the English civil war, when iconoclastic campaigns and movements were in full tide, the paper argues that the notions of novelty and progress were more positively accepted among radical religious groups. To put it in another way, the paper suggests a different way of looking the formation of Protestant habitus by giving accounts of how iconoclastic impulses spurred diverse religious groups during the civil war to break the mold of conservative thinking and to revolutionize the print culture hitherto based on patronage and served as a buttress for status-quo. From this analysis, then, we are ledto the different portrait of the protestant in the seventeenth century, whose mindset was not quite as solitary and guilt ridden as Max Weber would have us believe.

  • This study collected and intensively analyzed the works and remains in Namwon(南原) province by Liu Ting(劉綎) of Ming Dynasty during the Imjin War (the Japanese invasion in 1592-1598; 壬辰倭亂). Liu Ting engraved characters on the rocks as passing by the Yeowon hill(女院峙) twice. A local official of Namwon built a memorial stone at the guest residence of Namwon district to appreciate the contribution of Liu Ting to care for the local people. During the second Japanese invasion in 1597-1598(丁酉再亂), Liu Ting often climbed up the Yongdu pavilion(龍頭亭) located at Mt. Yongtu(龍鬪山) and fell in love with the splendid scenery while enjoying fishing at Jogi(釣磯). Immediately after the war, Liu Ting renovated the Guanwang Shrine(關王廟) in Namwon and built the memorial stone claiming that he defeated the Japanese army with the divine power from Guanyu(關羽).

  • This paper is intended to study the tragedy of Kim Sung-han's short stories 'Extreme' and 'Return'. The author describes the postwar chaotic reality as a tragic reality in the novel as the pain of the times people experience. In the novels "Extreme" and "Return," war is violence, and all human beings who participate in it are victims of the violence of war. However, in "Extreme," Tatsuko expresses her will to fight against the tragic reality in "Return." Kim Sung-han never wants them to stay in the tragic world, although the tragic reality of the main characters in his novel ends in a tragic ending. He wants them to fight against the tragic reality.

  • This study analyzes the combat case involving military drones during the Azerbaijan-Armenian War, which erupted on September 27, 2020. The background of the war revealed that Azerbaijan extensively and aggressively employed offensive drones, which played a decisive role in reshaping the dynamics of the battlefield. Despite Azerbaijan's GDP of $4.639, which corresponds to the level of a developing country, and its 64th rank in global military strength, the country boldly allocated a significant portion of its budget to develop its drone capabilities in preparation for the war. As a result, Azerbaijan effectively utilized offensive drones acquired from Turkey and Israel to neutralize hundreds of tanks, armored vehicles, artillery units, and air defense systems. The purpose of this study is to examine this context and explore how our Korean military organization can enhance its combat capabilities by developing a drone combat system, thereby enabling an effective response posture against multifaceted threats.
