For turbulent spray combustion flows a coupled numerical procedure was developed, This method was discretized by using generalized curvilinear coordinates to handle complex geometries. The preconditioning and eigenvalue rescaling techniques were employed to provide efficient convergences over a wide range of subsonic Mach numbers. The accuracy was validated by simulating the laminar cavity flow. The film cooling effect of a liquid rocket engine (KSR-III) were investigated by a spray combustion analysis. The film cooling showed a negative effect on the combustion efficiency. In the combustion chamber wall, the film cooling effect was revealed to be promoted by the production of fuel rich zone.
A numerical investigation for the flow, heat and mass transfer characteristics of the grooved evaporating tube with the films flowing down on both the inside and outside tube walls has been carried out. The condensation occurs along the outside wall while the evaporation takes place at the free surface of the inside film. The 3-D transport equations for momentum and energy are solved by using the FVM(Finite Volume Method). The free surface shape is tracked by the moving grid technique satisfying the SCL(Space Conservation Rule). Due to the secondary motion of the fluid, the film thins at the crest, while thickens at the valley. The velocity and temperature fields as well as the amounts of the condensed and evaporated mass have been successfully predicted for various operating conditions and groove shapes.
The objective of the present work is to assess the analysis capability of two wall film condensation models, the default and the alternative models, of RELAP5/MOD3.2 on condensation experiments in the presence of noncondensable gas in a vertical tube of PCCS of CP-1300. In the calculation of a base case the default model of RELAP5/MOD3.2 under-predicts the heat transfer coefficients, and Its alternative model over-predicts them throughout the condensing tube, Also, both models over-predict the void fractions. The nodalization study shows that the variation of the node number does not change both modeling results of RELAP5/MOD3.2 Sensitivity study for varying input parameters shows that the inlet steam-air mixture flow rate, the inlet air mass fraction, and the inlet saturated steam temperature give significant changes of their heat transfer coefficients Run statistics show that the grind time of the default model is always higher than that of the alternative model by about 23%.

A cascade wind tunnel test for a turbine nozzle, which was designed for a small turbo jet engine in a previous study, has been conducted to evaluate its aerodynamic performance and losses. The large-scale blades were based on the mid-span profile of the nozzle. Oil film flow structure, and then 3-dimensional velocity components were measured in the flow passage with a 5-hold pressure probe, in addition to turbulent intensities at mid-span of cascade exit using a hot-wire anemometer. From this study, 3-dimensional growth of horseshoe and passage vortices in the downstream direction was clearly understood with near-wall flow phenomena. In addition, secondary flow and losses associated with the blade configuration were obtained in detail.

An experimental research has been carried out for flow visualizations of the shock wave/turbulent boundary-layer interaction control utilizing the aeroelastic flaps, Spark shadowgraphs, kerosene-lampblack tracings for the surface streakline pattern, and interference fringe patterns over a thin oil-film applied at the downstream of the shock interactions have been obtained , Effects of variation of the shapes and thicknesses of the flaps are tested, and all the results are compared to the solid-wall reference case without flow-control mechanism , From the qualitative observation of the variation of skin friction utilizing the interference fringe patterns over the silicone oil-film, a strong spanwise variation of the skin friction with a narrow and long region of separation has been noticed near the centerline behind the shock structure, which phenomenon demonstrate a strong three-dimensionality of the shock interaction flows, Influence of the shape of the cavity under the flaps to the shock interaction is also tested, and it is observed that the shape of the cavity is not negligible.
The objective of this work is to obtain the experimental data for the heat transfer processes occurring both on the inside and outside surfaces of containment steel wall with dry and wet outer surface conditions in the passive containment cooling system. The test model represented a 60$^{\circ}$ section of a containment vessel based on the AP 600 geometry. Major linear dimensions of the test model ore reduced tv a factor of ten. To simulate the decay heat a steam generator heated by electricity was placed in the test model. The maximum heat flux was 8.91 kW/$m^2$. Two types of tests were performed. The one was the tort on the natural convection of air without water film flow. The other was the evaporative heat transfer test with the falling water film flow and natural air draft. no test result shooed that the heat transfer capability by the natural convection from the containment to the air without oater film flow was limited at about 1.48 kW/$m^2$ heat flux. It was found that the heat removal capability was remarkably enhanced in the tests with the waster film flow and air draft. The obtained heat transfer data ore compared with the existing correlations.

Boiling heat transfer phenomena is widely applied to BWR and electrical heating system because of its high heat transfer coefficient. In these systems, steady state heat transfer is dependent on nucleate boiling. When the heat generating rate is sharply increased or the cooling capacity of coolant is sharply decreased, sharp wall temperature rise is occurred under the critical heat flux(CHF) condition. This paper presents the simple wall temperature fluctuation model of transition mechanism in the repeating process of overheating and quenching, when coalescent bubble passes relatively slowly on the wall and simultaneously the transition from nucleate boiling to film boiling is carried at especially onset of the CHF state. The values calculated by the present model are resulted comparatively good with the measured.

To predict the fuel clad temperature during the reflooding phase of a LOCA, one may need a knowledge of reflood heat tranfer mechanism in a rod bundle. For this purpose reflooding experiments have been carried out with an electrically heated 3*3 rod bundle. Using the method for the determination of local heat transfer coefficient from the measured wall temperature the parametric effects of coolant flow rate, initial wall temperature, coolant subcooling and heat generation rate on the propagation of rewetting front were investigated. Prediction of the wall temperature histories for these experiments was discussed using REFLUX code with modification of the rewetting temperature correlation. Through this modification, better agreement between experiment and prediction was obtained.
Numerical calculation has been performed to investigate the fluid flow, heat transfer and local mass fraction of chemical species in the MOCVD(metalorganic chemical vapor deposition) manufacturing process. The mixing of reactants (trimethylgallium with hydrogen gas and ammonia) was presented by the concentration of each reactant to predict the uniformity of film growth. Effects of inlet size, location, mass flow rate and susceptor/cold wall tilt angle on the concentration were reported. From the numerical calculation, the concentration of reactants could be qualitatively predicted by the Nusselt number(heat transfer) and the optimum mass flow rate, wall tilt angle and inlet condition were considered.

The substrate patterned with the dry film has the cavity which has the $90^{\circ}$ wall angle. Electroplating Cu on this patterned substrate has the differrent shape history with the electrochemical parameters. By potential theory model, the reason of the variation of the shape change with the these parameters was investigated. The shape history could be explained by the current flow and the correlated area effects. By embedding the Ni layer between the Cu layers, shape history with the time was obtained experimentally and the results was compared with the numerical analysis by BEM. The adhesive Cr-Cu film in TAB application was etched with the various condition. The best condition for the etchant of the Cr-Cu film was found.
