Photocatalyst Surface Properties of the Oxide Thin Films According to the Plasma Etching Process (플라즈마 에칭공정에 따른 산화물 박막의 광촉매 표면 특성)

  • $WO_3$, $SiO_2$, and $TiO_2$ films with hydrophilic property are deposited by rf-magnetron sputtering. Their wettability is strongly depends on the presence or absence of the oxygen plasma etching on the glass substrates. The $TiO_2$ film of 50 nm-thick on the plasma etched glass shows a water contact angle (WCA) below $5^{\circ}$ which means a super-hydrophilic surface. However, WCA values are gradually degraded when the films are exposed under atmosphere, especially $WO_3$. In order to improve hydrophilic property, the degraded films can be again recovered by UV illumination for 10 sec using UV-light and the $TiO_2$ film shows a super-hydrophilic surface about $3^{\circ}$.

  • 최근에 형광체 결정 입자의 크기와 적당한 활성제 이온의 종류를 선택하여 우수한 발광 특성을 갖는 세라믹 형광체를 합성하고자 많은 노력을 경주하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 비교적 간단한 장비로 구성되며, 볼밀을 통하여 초기 물질들을 혼합하고 분쇄하여 최적의 형광 특성을 갖는 형광체 분말을 비교적 용이하게 합성하기에 적합한 고상반응법을 사용하여 적색, 황색, 녹색 형광체 La2WO6:RE3+ (RE=Eu, Dy, Tb)를 제조하고자 한다. 사용한 초기 물질은 (99.99% 순도), (99.99%), (99.9%), (99.9%) (99.9%)을 화학 정량으로 준비하였고, 활성제 이온의 함량비를 0, 0.01, 0.05, 0.10, 0.20 mol로 각각 변화시켜 형광체를 제조하여 그것의 발광과 흡광, 결정 입자의 크기와 형상을 조사하였다. 이온이 도핑된 형광체의 경우에, 발광 스펙트럼은 이온의 함량비에 관계없이 모든 시료에서 전형적인 이온의 (j=1-4) 전이에 의한 발광 스펙트럼을 나타내었고, 가장 강한 적색 발광 파장은 611 nm에서 관측되었으며, 이온의 함량비가 0.15 mol에서 발광 피크가 장파장 쪽으로 10 nm 이동하였으며, 세 종류의 발광 스펙트럼의 세기는 최대를 나타내었다. 이온의 함량비가 더욱 증가함에 따라 모든 발광 스펙트럼의 세기는 순차적으로 감소하였다. 이 현상은 농도 소광 현상으로 해석 할 수 있다. 이온이 도핑된 형광체의 경우에, 이온의 함량비에 관계없이 모든 시료에서 이온의 전형적인 전이에 의한 발광 스펙트럼이 관측되었으며, j=13/2에서 가장 강한 황색 발광이 피크 581 nm에서 관측 되었다. 상대적으로 발광 세기가 약한 484 nm에 정점을 갖는 청색 발광스펙트럼은 전이 신호이다. 이온의 함량비가 0.10 mol 일 때 세 영역의 발광 스펙트럼의 세기는 최대를 나타내었다. 이온의 함량비가 증가함에 따라 모든 발광 스펙트럼의 세기는 순차적으로 감소하였다. 주 흡광 스펙트럼은 이온의 함량비에 관계없이 모든 시료에서 파장 250 nm에서 관측되었다. 이온이 도핑된 형광체의 경우에, 이온의 함량비에 관계없이 모든 형광체 분말은 발광 세기가 제일 강한 550 nm의 피크를 갖는 녹색 발광과 상대적으로 발광 세기가 약한 495와 590 nm에 피크를 갖는 청색과 주황색 발광 스펙트럼들이 각각 관측되었다. 이 발광 신호들은 Tb3+ 이온의 5D47Fj (j=4, 5, 6) 전이에 의해 발광된 신호임을 확인하였다.

  • Water leaching of tungsten(W) and vanadium(V) was researched from their oxides through mechanochemical (MC) reaction with alkali compounds. Intensive grinding for the mixture of tungsten/vanadium oxide and alkali compounds (NaOH, $Na2CO_3$) was carried out with change of their mixing ratios and grinding duration. Water soluble compounds, $Na_2WO_4$ and $NaVO_3$, were synthesized through MC reaction and their solubilities increased in proportion to the mixing ratio of sodium compound and grinding times. Whereas vanadium leachability was less affected by the mixting ratio and grinding times. The leachabilities of 99.0% were accomplished by a short period of MC treatment, W (30 min.) and V (5 min.). This process enable us to extract W and V from their oxides via a water leaching, and can be applied to the selective recovery of W and V from $DeNO_x$ spent catalysts.

  • 5 mol% $BaWO_4$를 첨가시켜 합성한 Ba$(Mg_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$를 이용하여 비방사유전세선로에 삽입되는 세라믹스 공진기를 제자하고 기존의 $MgTiO_3-CaTiO_3$계 세라믹스 공진기와 공진특성을 비교하여 그 특성을 고찰하였다. 그 결과 BMT 세라믹스는 기존의 $MgTiO_3-CaTiO_3$계 세라믹스보다 품질계수가 2배 이상 크게 높게 측정되었고, 측정 사진의 관찰 결과 전파차단성도 우수할 것으로 예상되기 때문에 BMT가 비방사유 전체선로에 삽입되는 유전체 공진기 재료로서 적용될 경우 우수한 공진특성을 발휘할 것으로 판단된다.

  • Chongyang tungsten ore deposits, one of the most important tungsten mines in South Korea, me open space filling hydrothermal vein deposits embedded in Precambrian biotite gneiss and, Cretaceous (?) granite porphyry. Some wolframite-bearing quartz veins are closely associated with -quartz porphyries which strike about $N15^{\circ}-25^{\circ}W$ and dip $800^{\circ}SE$ to vertical. Mineralization took place in near vertical vein systems of 5 to 2000 meter long in the biotite gneiss and granite porphyry stock during early Cretaceous and Tertiary (?) period. The hydrothermal mineral paragensis has indicated that there were two major stages: vein and vug stages. The principal vein mineral is wolframite in a gangue of quartz with small amount of fluorite, pyrite, beryl and carbonate minerals. Present in minor amounts are molybdenite, bithmuthinite, native bismuth, arsenopyrite, galena, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, sphalerite and scheelite. Fluid inclusion study from the minerls at Chongyang mine reveals that vein stage fluids attained a temperature range of $200^{\circ}C-355^{\circ}C$ and vug stage $160^{\circ}C-350^{\circ}C$. The filling temperatures show the higher range of $200^{\circ}-355^{\circ}C$ in quartz and $280^{\circ}C-348^{\circ}C$ in beryls, whereas the lower emperature range of $283^{\circ}C-295^{\circ}C$ in rhodochrosite and $160^{\circ}-253^{\circ}C$ in fluorites. These temperatures are in reasonably good agreement with mineral paragnesis in this ore deposits. Volfamite minerals were analysed for major components. $WO_3$, MnO and FeO by wet chemical method. Chemical analysis indicates that they contain 70.56-71.54% $WO_3$, 8.52-10.01% MnO and 10.00-11.58% FeO. MnO/FeO ratios of wolframites shows the range of 0.78-0.94 which maybe indicates a comparatively high temperature type of hydrothermal deposits.

  • We investigated the crystal structure, resistivity, and chemical states change of the tungsten nitride $(WN_x)$ films prepared by reactive sputtering method with various $N_2$ flow ratios. Crystal structures of $WN_x$ films deposited at the $N_2$ flow ratios of 20%, 40%, and 60% were bcc $\beta$-W, amorphous, and fcc $W_2$N, respectively. Surface roughness of $WN_x$ film was smallest when the $WN_x$ film is amorphous. After the air exposure of $WN_x$ films, $WO_3$ layer was formed at the surface of all samples. Both the nitrogen content of $WN_x$ film and the binding energy of W $4f_{7/2}$ peaks increased with increasing $N_2$ flow ratio. However, after $Ar^+$ ion etching, the shift of W $4f_{7/2}$ peaks was not observed with $N_2$ flow ratio due to the amorphization of the $WN_x$ film surface. The resistivity of $WN_x$ films increased with increasing $N_2$ flow ratio.

  • In this study, it was carried out separation process research and development to be able to produce high-grade tungsten concentrate form tungsten taken form Mongolia. In order to reduce treatment cost and increase separation efficiency the jig separation at first was applied for recovering the concentrate. Which reground would make the degree of liberation increase. Which was treated by shaking table to reject the gangue minerals from the first concentrate. Because the heavier product contains not only ferberite but also cassiterite, the product was treated by further dry magnetic separation to obtain the ferberite concentrate. Finally, the high-grade ferberite concentrate of 67.63% $WO_3$ could be obtained with recovery of 86.07% through the separation process developed in this study.

  • Abnormal current-voltage characteristics of an oxide semiconductor have been investigated and a novel method of detecting reducing gases utilizing self-heating mechanism of sensing layer without an additional heater has been developed. Planar-type sensors based on WO3-doped SnO2 were fabricated using a screen-printing technique. The applied voltage across the sensing layer caused heating of the sensing layer and the current abruptly varied upon exposure to a gas mostly as a result of surface reactions. A unique and fascinating aspect of the gas sensing scheme is that no additional heater is necessary for detection. The new sensing method has been applied to C2H5OH gas in this preliminary work.

  • As the advances of Internet infra structure and the support of console and mobile for network games, the industry of online game has been growing rapidly, and the online game traffic in the Internet has been increasing steadily. For design and simulation of game network, the analysis of online game traffic have to be preceded. Therefore a number of papers have been proposed for the purpose of analyzing the traffic data of network games and providing the models. We make and use GameNet Analyzer as a dedicated tool for game traffic measurement and analysis in this paper. We measure the traffic of FPS Quake 3, RTS Starcraft and MMORPG World of Warcraft (WoW), and analyze the packet size, packet IAT(inter-arrival time), data rate and packet rate according to the number of players and in-game behaviors. We also present the traffic models using measured traffic data. These analysis and models of game traffic can be used for effective network simulation, performance evaluation of game network and the design of online games.

Dentinal defects induced by 6 different endodontic files when used for oval root canals: an in vitro comparative study

  • Objectives: To compare the formation of dentinal defects using stainless-steel hand K-files (HFs), rotary files, reciprocating files, and Self-Adjusting File (SAF), when used for oval root canals. Materials and Methods: One hundred and forty extracted human mandibular premolar with single root and oval canal were selected for this study. Oval canals were confirmed by exposing to mesio-distal and bucco-lingual radiographs. Teeth with open apices or anatomic irregularities were excluded. All selected teeth were de-coronated perpendicular to the long axis of the tooth, leaving roots segments approximately of 16 mm in length. Twenty teeth were left unprepared (control), and the remaining 120 teeth were divided into 6 groups (n = 20) and instrumented using HF (size 40/0.02), Revo-S (RS; size 40/0.06), ProTaper NEXT (PTN; size 40/0.06), WaveOne (WO; size 40/0.09), RECIPROC (RC; size 40/0.06), and the SAF (2 mm). Roots were then sectioned 3, 6, and 9 mm from the apex, and observed under stereomicroscope, for presence of dentinal defects. "No defect" was defined as root dentin that presented with no visible microcracks or fractures. "Defect" was defined by microcracks or fractures in the root dentin. Results: The control, HF, and SAF did not exhibit any dentinal defects. In roots instrumented by RS, PTN, WO, and RC files exhibited microcracks (incomplete or complete) in 40%, 30%, 55%, and 50%, respectively. Conclusions: The motor-driven root canal instrumentation with rotary and reciprocating files may create microcracks in radicular dentine, whereas the stainless-steel hand file instrumentation, and the SAF produce minimal or less cracks.
