Dynamic Characteristics of Reinforced Concrete Axisymmetric Shell with Initial Imperfection (초기결함을 갖는 철근 콘크리트 축대칭 쉘의 동적 특성 -돔의 결함의 영향을 중심으로-)

  • In this study, a computer program considering initial imperfection of axisymmetric reinforced concrete shell which plastic deformation by large external loading was developed . Initial imperfection of dome was assumed as 'dimple type' which can be expressed as Wi=(Wo/h)(1-x$^2$)$^3$. The developed model applied to the analysis of dynamic response of axisymmetric reinforced concrete shell when it has initial imperfection. The initial imperfection of 0.0, -5.0, and 5cm and steel and steel layer ratio 0,3, and 5% were tested for numerical examples . The results can be summarized as follows ; 1. Dynmaic response of vertical deflection at dome crown showed slow increased if it has not inital imperfection . But the response showed relatively high amplitude when initial imperfection was inner directed (opposite direction to loading). Similar trends also appeared for different steel layer ratios. 2. Dynamic responses of radial displacement at the junction of dome and wall showed the highest amplitude when initial imperfection was inward directed (opposite direction to loading). The lowest amplitude occurred when initial imperfection was outward directed (same direction to loading). Vibration period also delayed for inward directed initial imperfection . These trends were obvious as steel layer ratio increasing. 3. The effects of imperfection for the dynamic response of radial displacement a the center of wall scarely appeared. The effects of initial imperfection of dome on the dynmaic response of the wall can be neglected. 4. Effect of steel on the dynmic response of axisymmetric shell structure was great when initial imperfection did not exist. And the effect of direction of initial imperfection (inward or outward) did not show big difference.

  • A method to improve the photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide by modification with a sensitizer and a metal oxide is proposed. To achieve this goal, we used metal oxides as dopants. In particular, $CaWO_4$ and $Gd_2O_2S$:Tb were used because their 2.6 eV and 2.2 eV band gap energy and optical properties have a large positive effect on photocatalysis. The improvement in the photocatalytic activity of $TiO_2$ modified with $Gd_2O_2S$:Tb under ultraviolet light irradiation is described in a previous study. The present work focuses on the sensitization of metal oxide-modified $TiO_2$. Having observed the ultraviolet-visible absorption spectra of 3,4,9,10-Perylenetetracarboxylic diimide in the wide visible-light region from 400 nm to 650 nm and the broad peaks in its photoluminescence spectra at 695 nm and 717 nm, we decided to use this perylene dye to sensitize modified $TiO_2$ to enhance its activity as a visible-light harvesting photocatalyst. We also explored the positive effects thin-film surface changes stemming from ultraviolet pre-treatment have on photocatalytic activity. Finally, we subjected several metal oxide-modified $TiO_2$ products sensitized by the perylene dye to ultraviolet pre-treatment, obtaining the most active photocatalysts.

Scientometrics-based R&D Topography Analysis to Identify Research Trends Related to Image Segmentation (이미지 분할(image segmentation) 관련 연구 동향 파악을 위한 과학계량학 기반 연구개발지형도 분석)

  • Image processing and computer vision technologies are becoming increasingly important in a variety of application fields that require techniques and tools for sophisticated image analysis. In particular, image segmentation is a technology that plays an important role in image analysis. In this study, in order to identify recent research trends on image segmentation techniques, we used the Web of Science(WoS) database to analyze the R&D topography based on the network structure of the author's keyword co-occurrence matrix. As a result, from 2015 to 2023, as a result of the analysis of the R&D map of research articles on image segmentation, R&D in this field is largely focused on four areas of research and development: (1) researches on collecting and preprocessing image data to build higher-performance image segmentation models, (2) the researches on image segmentation using statistics-based models or machine learning algorithms, (3) the researches on image segmentation for medical image analysis, and (4) deep learning-based image segmentation-related R&D. The scientometrics-based analysis performed in this study can not only map the trajectory of R&D related to image segmentation, but can also serve as a marker for future exploration in this dynamic field.

Effects of Selenate and Sulfate Ion Interaction in Nutrient Solution OH the Growth Of Artemisia molngotica var. tenuifolia (배양액 내의 Selenate 와 Sulfate 이온의 상호작용이 참쑥의 생육에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the interaction of selenate and sulfate ion in nutrient solution supplyed with selenate ion. At early growth stage, the growth of Mongolian wormwood was best at 3mM sulfate ion and 2mg/$\ell$Na$_2$SeO$_4$ treatment. As they were grown and matured, at the later growth stage, the effect of antagonism between selenate and sulfate ion on the growth of each plant decreased. At supplying with selenate ion in nutrient solution, the uptake of selenate by plant had negative correlation with sulfate ion concentration in nutrient solution. The higher sulfate ion concentration, the less selenium uptake. However, the effect of antagonistic interaction of selenate and sulfate ion on the selenium uptake increased with plant age. Whereas, the uptake of sulfate ion had positive correlation with sulfate ion concentration in nutrient solution at supplying with selenate ion in nutrient solution. The uptake of sulfate ion increased with increase of sulfate ion concentration in nutrient solution. The effect of this interaction with selenate and sulfate ion increased with growth and maturity of plant. However, at 3mM sulfate ion concentration in nutrient solution, sulfate ion concentration in plant tissue decreased markedly.

  • In this study, three kinds of polymers based on phenothiazine-benzothiadiazole were synthesized by a Suzuki coupling reaction, and the various side-chains were substituted at the nitrogen of phenothiazine. The optical and electrochemical properties of synthesized polymers were analyzed. The results indicate that their absorption ranged from 300 to 700 nm, and also confirmed the ideal highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy level was about -5.4 eV with low band-gap energy. Photovoltaic devices were fabricated using a photoactive layer composed of a blended solution of the polymer and $PC_{71}BM$ in ortho-dichlorobenzene The device with P2HDPZ-bTP-OBT containing the branched side-chain and long chain showed the best performance; the maximum power conversion efficiency of this device was 2.4% (with $V_{OC}$ : 0.74 V, $J_{SC}$ : $6.9mA/cm^2$, FF : 48.0%).

Study on the Elution Behaviors of Molybdate and Tungstate in Nitric Acid Solution by Anion Exchange Chromatography (음이온 교환수지에 의한 질산산성에서 몰리브덴산과 텅스텐산의 용리현상에 관한 연구)

  • The species and equilibrium of molybdate and tungstate have been investigated from the elution behaviors of those in various concentrations of nitric acid and the UV spectra obtained at the various Z values. In higher concentrations than 0.05M nitric acid, the nitarte complex species of $MoO_2(NO_3)_2$ seems to form from the $MoO_2^{2+}$ ions formed by the following equation: $Mo_8O_{26}^{4-} + 20H^+$ ${\rightleftharpoons}$ $8MoO_2^{2+}$ + $10H_2O$. In the case of tungstate, the elution behaviors of tungstate in nitric acid medium are similar to those of perchloric acid, so we think the equilibrium of tungstate existed in perchloric acid could be also existed in nitric acid. These elution behaviors of tungstate are compared with the UV spectra obtained at the various Z values.

  • 1. Objectives The purpose of this study is to find out the characteristics about the Sasang constitution of elementary school students based on the questions that have significant differences. 2. Methods 146 children who have visited Kang-Nam Kyung-Hee Oriental Hospital Sasang constitution center from Mar. 2003 to May. 2005, were investigated through the questionnaires. These have the categories of personality and emotional characteristics, personal relationship, playing and the way to handle things such as jobs or missions, behavioral characteristics, and etc., were analyzed statistically. 3. Results and Conclusions (1) In the category of the 'Personality and Emotional characteristics', significantly more Soeumin showed positive answers to the question, 'being easily nervous and get irritated' than the other groups, and significantly more Taeumin to the question, 'considerate and thoughtful' than Soyangin. (2) In the category of the 'Personal relationship', there were significantly more Soyangin who showed positive answer to the question 'making a friend easily' than the other groups. (3) In the category of the 'playing and the way to handle things', significantly more Soeumin showed positive answer to the question, 'love to do the exercise' than Soyangin, and significantly more Soeumin showed positive answer to the question, 'not careful and meticulous' than Soyangin, and significantly more Soeumin showed positive answer to the question, 'like to read books' than Taeumin. (4) In the category of the 'Behavioral characteristics', significantly more Soyangin showed positive answer to the question, 'unable to concentrate just one thing even for just a minute and keep on moving.' than the other groups, and significantly more Soyangin showed positive answer to the question, 'act or response quick.' than Taeumin, and significantly more Soyangin showed positive answer to the question, 'behave and go around restlessly and flighty' than Soeumin, and significantly more Taeumin showed the positive answer to the question, 'hate to move by oneself' than Soyangin.

Effect of Diamond Particle Size on the Thermal Shock Property of High Pressure High Temperature Sintered Polycrystalline Diamond Compact (초 고온·고압 소결 공정으로 제조된 다결정 다이아몬드 컴팩트의 열충격 특성에 미치는 다이아몬드 입자 크기의 영향)

  • This study investigates the thermal shock property of a polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) produced by a high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) sintering process. Three kinds of PDCs are manufactured by the HPHT sintering process using different particle sizes of the initial diamond powders: $8-16{\mu}m$ ($D50=4.3{\mu}m$), $10-20{\mu}m$ ($D50=6.92{\mu}m$), and $12-22{\mu}m$ ($D50=8.94{\mu}m$). The microstructure observation results for the manufactured PDCs reveal that elemental Co and W are present along the interface of the diamond particles. The fractions of Co and WC in the PDC increase as the initial particle size decreases. The manufactured PDCs are subjected to thermal shock tests at two temperatures of $780^{\circ}C$ and $830^{\circ}C$. The results reveal that the PDC with a smaller particle size of diamond easily produces microscale thermal cracks. This is mainly because of the abundant presence of Co and WC phases along the diamond interface and the easy formation of Co-based (CoO, $Co_3O_4$) and W-based ($WO_2$) oxides in the PDC using smaller diamond particles. The microstructural factors for controlling the thermal shock property of PDC material are also discussed.

A Study of Radiation Dose and Quality by Using Added Filtration in Chest Radiography (흉부(胸部) X선촬영시(線撮影時) 부가여과사용(附加濾過使用)에 따른 선양(線量)과 선질(線質)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • Author has studied for finding the method of decreasing the radiation dose and increasing diagnostic range in chest X-ray radiography. The study for the added filter thickness from half value layer to 1/8 value layer by decreasing curve and research for the exposure factors, decreasing ratio of radiation dose, ratio of scatter ray and image quality in chest X-ray radiography. The results were as follows: 1. By using the rare earth intensifying screen system at 120 Kvp, the sensitivity is increased by times and the exposure ratio is decreased 0.22 by comparison with the $CaWO_{4}$ intensifying screen system at 80 Kvp. 2. By using Al added filter of 1/8 value layer, the scatter ray is increased more than no filter, But the scatter ray is decreased more in $G_{4}/RxOG$ intensifying system than in LT-II/Rx intensifying system. 3. At 120 Kvp, the image quality value of $G_{4}/RxOG$ system is increased more than LT-II/Rx system compared with slight decreasing image quality value at 80 Kvp. Concluded that by using the added filter could decrease the radiation dose by 1/3 and obtain effective image quality with the added filter at high voltage hard exposure.

(3) In the category of 'Eating Habit', significantly more Soeumin, Soyangin answered positively to 'eating little food(light eating)' than Taeumin, and more Taeumin showed positive answer to 'a lot of food uptake' than the other groups, and significantly more Soeumin to 'eating slowly' than Taeumin, in contrast, significantly more Taeumin showed positive answer to 'eating food in haste and hurry' than the Soeumin, and significantly more Soeumin showed positive answer to the question, 'unwillingness to eat vegetable' than Soyangin, and significantly more Soeumin showed that to the question, 'unbalanced diet' than the other groups, significantly more Taeumin showed positive answer to 'preference for fatty food' than the other groups.
