In Korea, WAP and ME have been used for wireless Internet services. Two methods are different in markup languages used, therefore contents providers have to use two different markup languages to provide an internet service. To solve this problem, we present a design and implementation of a markup language conversion module between WML and M-HTML.

지난해부터 무선 인터넷 관련 시장의 급속한 확산으로 인해 사용자들의 다양한 요구에 부응하기 위한 무선 컨텐츠가 요청되고 있다. 그로 인해 개발자가 실제와 같은 상황에서 WML과 WML Script 컨텐츠를 편리하게 테스팅 할 수 있는 환경이 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 CP(Content Provider)들이 작성된 WML(Wireless Markup Language) 컨텐츠(Content)를 쉽고 편리하게 브라우징하면서 테스팅 하기 위하여 필수적으로 요청되는 WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) Emulator의 설계와 구현에 대하여 기술한다. 본 논문에서는 서술된 WAP Emulator는 WAP 핸드폰에 탑재되는 것과 동일한 기능을 보유하는 WAP 스택 및 WMLScript 가상머신을 지원하여 실제 핸드폰과 거의 유사한 기능을 제공한다.

WAP을 기반으로 한 무선 인터넷 컨텐츠 서비스는 무선 인터넷 마크업 언어인 WML(Wireless Markup Language)을 사용하여 실현하게 된다. 휴대폰 사용자들은 무선 인터넷 서비스를 통하여 WML로 작성된 컨벤츠를 휴대폰을 통해 볼 수 있는 것이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 무선인터넷의 효율적인 컨텐츠 서비스를 위 하여 기존 웹 페이지를 표현하기 위한 HTML(Hypertext Markup Language)을 WML로 변환하기 위해 개발된 기존 제품들에 대한 비교분석을 통하여 효과적인 필터링 기능을 수행하는 시스템을 제안하였다.

본 논문에서는 요즘 많은 관심의 대상이 되고 있는 휴대폰을 이용한 무선 인터넷 접근, 특히 WAP 브라우저를 내장한 휴대폰을 사용해 WAP 기반 무선 인터넷 서비스를 이용하는데 사용되는 WML 문서를 WYSIWYG 방식으로 손쉽게 생성하고 유지, 관리할 수 있는 도구와 효과적인 WML 컨텐츠 사이트를 구축하기 위한 사이트 빌더의 설계와 구현에 대해 소개한다. 그리고 사용자의 요구에 맞는 무선 웹사이트의 서비스를 구성해 주는 모듈의 효과적인 설계와 구현에 대해 설명한다.

최근 WAP(Wireless Application Protocol)을 이용한 무선 인터넷 사용에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. WAP은 무선환경에 적합하도록 설계되어 있으며, 유선 인터넷과 비슷한 구조를 가지고 있다. 그러나 기존의 인터넷이 HTML 문서 형태로 정보를 저장하고 있는데 비해서, WAP에서는 WML(Wireless Markup Language) 문서 형태로 정보가 저장되어야 한다. 따라서 HTML 문서를 WML 문서로 자동 변환해 주는 소프트웨어가 필요하며, 본 연구에서는 이러한 역할을 하는 HTML 필터(filler)를 개발한다. 즉, 본 논문에서는 WML의 구성 및 특징에 대해서 알아보고, HTML 필터의 설계, 구현 및 작동결과에 대하여 설명한다.

현재 국내의 이동통신의 인구가 유선인터넷의 인구를 앞지르고 있다. 이에 무선통신의 시장의 잠재적인 시장을 형성하고, 시장점유율이 점차 증가하고 있는 추세에 있다. 아직까지 표준안이 발표된 것은 없지만, 무선통신을 위한 수많은 방법 중에서 사실상의 표준으로 받아들여지고 있는 WAP이 전세계적으로 가장 많은 사용자층을 확보하고 있으며, 많은 연구가 되고 있다. 그러나, 많은 양의 컨텐츠, 홈페이지를 개발함에 있어서 모든 Markup language의 표준을 기억하기란 여간 까다로운 것이 아니다. 많은 양의 속성, 계속 변하는 표준속에서 일반 사용자가 무선통신상의 홈페이지, 컨텐츠를 구성하는데는 어려움을 겪는다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 WAP에서 사용되어지는 마크업 언어인 WML을 손쉽게 구현을 할 수 있는 저작도구를 설계함으로써 무선인터넷 컨텐츠개발자 뿐만 아니라 일반사용자도 손쉽게 무선환경하에서의 홈페이지를 손쉽게 구현을 할 수 있게끔 하고자 한다.

본 논문은 무선 인터넷 환경에서 사용자의 편의와 상호 운용성을 고려해서 유선상의 HTML 프레임 콘텐츠를 변환시키는 프레임 지원 HTML 변환기의 설계 및 구현에 대해 기술한다. 구현된 HTML 변환기는 일반 텍스트 콘텐츠의 경우, 일대일 태그 매핑을 통해 WML 콘텐츠로 변환이 된다. 프레임으로 구성된 콘텐츠는 프레임 콘텐츠 재구성 모듈에서 일련의 재구성 과정을 거친 후에 대부분의 프레임 콘텐츠가 여러 메뉴에 대해서 보여지는 타겟 프레임은 하나로 고정되어 있는 것을 고려해서 무선 단말기의 화면에 1행 2열의 테이블 형태의 WML 콘텐츠로 변환이 된다. 즉 좌측열에는 여러 메뉴 콘텐츠를 우측열에는 타겟 프레임에 보여지게 되는 콘텐츠를 위치 시킴으로해서 프레임 콘텐츠의 변환을 수행한다. 추가적으로 이미지 맵이 포함된 콘텐츠의 변환은 이미지 맵 관련 태그를 파싱한 후, 링크되어 있는 HTML 문서의 이름을 추출해서 WML 콘텐츠 데이터로 대체하고, 해당 콘텐츠로 링크시킴으로써 변환이 가능하게 한다.

Recently, as wireless communication are becoming more and more popular, Internet users is becoming increasingly demand HTTP-based web service in mobile computing environment. But, overall performance of web services may slow down, because mobile device are generally equipped with lower capability. Therefore, the most important factor to design wireless internet delivery system should be scalable to handle a large scale traffic due to rapidly growing users. But, in case of some preceding research, they not present a basic efficiency reform measure until currently. Therefore, In this paper, We propose a Web Service Delivery System for mobile environment that alleviates problems that occurred while executing web services in mobile environment and are helpful to overcome the above needs. The system composed of HTML/WML Converter, SOAP message processor. We compare the existing system with the proposed system.

As the subscription rate to both Internet services and wireless communications services increases rapidly, traffic in the future wireless communications will be dominated by Internet applications. Current research for wireless technology is focused to the multimedia data transmission mainly for the personal computer or notebook whose display which has large display and abundant memory. But in the near future, Internet access request from the handphone or PDA device which is already spreaded in the world will be large. Special handset terminals which has small display monitor, low capacity memory and poor processing power has to be managed differently from torrent wireless communications protocols. So, WAP Forum is organized with wireless handset manufacturers in the world and the standardization process for wireless application is being actively developed. In this paper, basic model and architecture of WAP is introduced and adaptation requirements for change from HTML documents to WML formats are proposed. Also, compression ratio gained in the transform from the existing web documents to WML is shown.
