  • The rapid progress of the Internet and network is affecting the engineering design environment as well as business that use Web technologies to enhance their competitive edge. In product development, experts and organization who take part in the design process are often geographically dispersed. Furthermore, different divisions and business often have heterogeneous CAD/CAE systems and methods for expressing product data, and addressing this heterogeneity creates additional costs and increases development time. Managing distributed CAD, CAE and other related systems in an organic and holistic manner from the initial stages of product development is imperative to ensure successful collaboration in the design process. Therefore, this study suggests a Web-based MDO framework to support interfacing and collective use of design and analysis tools.

  • Purpose: To investigate the relationship between eating behavior and self-esteem of College Nursing Students. Method: Data were collected from self-administered questionnaires completed by 323 college nursing students in D city from October 6-15, 2008. Descriptive statistics, T-test, ANOVA and Pearson's Correlation Coefficients with the SPSS program were used to analyze the data. Results: The mean scores of EDI-2 and self-esteem scale were 47.56 (14.83) and 30.82 (3.86). Self-esteem was differentiated by age, grade, schoolwork satisfaction and self-perceived health status. A significant negative correlation between eating behavior and self-esteem was evident (r=-.121, p=.030). Conclusion: Subjects who had higher self-esteem tend to exhibit eating behaviors. There is a need to develop interventions to prevent eating disorder and promote positive self-esteem for nursing students.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of the craniocervical posture on swallowing and hyoid bone movement with sitting posture in wheelchair, and to provide basic data for developing a treatment program for dysphagia. A total of sixty healthy adults without a history of dysphagia who were guardians or care assistants of inpatients at Hospital K underwent video fluoroscopy performed by physiatrists from April to July 2009. The results of the fluoroscopy were analyzed based on the measurement of hyoid bone movements. The hyoid bone movement(horizontal, vertical, and diagonal) was significantly high in the neutral craniocervical, chin-tuck, and sixty degrees extension postures, in descending order(p<.05). It was found that the neutral craniocervical posture is the most effective posture for hyoid bone movement with sitting posture in wheelchair.

  • Although milky nipple discharge appears frequently in infants, bloody nipple discharge is a very rare finding. We experienced a 4-month-old, breast-fed infant who showed bilateral bloody nipple discharge with no signs of infection, engorgement, or hypertrophy. The infant's hormonal examination and coagulation tests were normal, and an ultrasound examination revealed mammary duct ectasia. The symptoms resolved spontaneously within 6 weeks without any specific treatment, except that we advised the mother to refrain from taking herbal medicine. Since no such case has been previously reported in Korea, we present this case with a brief review of the literature.

  • In this study, we determined the glycemic index (GI) of an herbal preparation (Insu $100^{(R)}$; Korean red ginseng, carob, mulberry, and banaba). Ten subjects (men and women) took part in standard glycemic testing during a 4-week study period (with duplicate trials of each treatment). Informed consent was obtained from each subject. No adverse effects resulted from the administration of the herbal preparation. The GI of Insu $100^{(R)}$ was $19.5{\pm}5.1$, indicating that administration of this herbal cocktail may be beneficial to people with metabolic disorders and to those who wish to maintain their overall health. This study complied with the Declaration of Helsinki.

  • Purpose: To report the patient with sciatic neuropathy after gynecologic laparoscopy, who improved by Traditional Korean Medical treatment and to study Traditional Korean Medicine(TKM) management of complications of gynecologic laparoscopy. Methods: A patient with sciatic neuropathy after gynecologic laparoscopy was managed with herbal medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion treatment. Results: After about 2 months treatment, patient's symptoms and signs were improved. TKM management was effective in recovery of neurologic complication after gynecologic laparoscopy. Conclusion: We need to actively participate in management of complications of gynecologic laparoscopy as primary or adjuvant therapy. And more study is needed for developing Traditional Korean Medical indication of complications of Gynecologic Laparoscopy.

  • The stereoscopic three-dimensional (3D) display provides a 3D image by inducing binocular disparity for the observers who wear special glasses. With the rapid progress in flat panel display technologies, the stereoscopic 3D display is becoming a new benefit-model of the current display industry, and several kinds of commercial stereoscopic 3D products have been released and are attracting people. Nowadays, the motion picture quality of the 3D image becomes as important as resolution or luminance since most of the commercial 3D products are 3D televisions or 3D monitors which are required to display a clear motion 3D image. In this paper, an analysis and simulation of the motion picture quality of stereoscopic 3D image is proposed, and a comparison of the motion picture performance among the current stereoscopic 3D technologies is also provided.

Data were collected using self-report questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients, stepwise regression with SPSS 14.0 win program. Results: The major results are as follows. First, parents rearing attitude was significantly influence to the family cohesion. Second, parents rearing attitude and family cohesion were significantly affect to the adolescent self- esteem. Third, compare the influence size between the parents rearing attitude and family cohesion to the adolescent self- esteem, the family cohesion was higher than the parents rearing attitude. Conclusion: The finding may provide useful insight to researchers who want to develop social support program for adolescents.

  • This study examined the effects of parent-, peer-, and teacher-attachment on development of career maturity via the mediating effects of self concept. There were 2844 elementary school students, ages 12 to 13 years old, who participated in the Korean Youth Panel Survey. All data were used for the analyses. Gender differences were found in most of the variables, including attachment, self concept, and career maturity. The Structural Equation Modeling technique applied to the data revealed that there were both concurrent and lagged effects of attachment and self concept on career maturity. It was found that self concept played a mediating role on career maturity.
