최근 일반기업, 공공기관, 금융기관 등에서 수신된 팩스 문서를 사용하여 업무처리를 하는 과정에서 각종 위 변조 폐해 사례가 빈번하게 발생하고 있다. 이는 팩스로 수신한 문서만으로는 위 변조 여부를 확인할 수 없어 발생하는 결과로 이에 대한 대책이 시급한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 수신된 팩스 문서만을 사용하여 팩스 문서의 위 변조 여부를 확인하기 위한 팩스 송신처 검증 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 송신측 팩스단말과 수신측 팩스단말간의 통신 시그널 패턴 분석과 수신된 팩스 문서 이미지의 속성패턴을 확인하여 수신된 문서가 지정된 송신처에서 보낸 팩스인지를 검증할 수 있는 기법이다. 본 논문은 제안된 기법을 실제 팩스 시스템에 적용하여 위 변조 방지 효과가 있음을 실험 결과를 통해 확인하였다.

한국기상청에서는 지난 40여년간 영역기상방송(WE-FAX)을 제공하고 있다. 그러나 북서태평양을 통항하는 대부분의 항해사는 한국 기상청 영역기상방송을 이용하지 않고 일본 및 미국의 영역기상방송을 이용하고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 항해사를 대상으로 설문조사와 병행하여 한국, 일본 및 미국의 종관일기도를 조사하여 비교 분석함으로써, 한국기상청의 영역기상방송 서비스 개선 방안을 제시한다. 그 결과, (1) 교육과정중 항해사에게 한국기상청의 영역기상방송 서비스에 대해 홍보하여 인지도를 높인다 (2) 원양선의 VOS 시스템 참여를 유도하여 일기도의 정확도를 제고한다 (3) 외양파랑도 및 지상일기예상도 등 일기도 콘텐츠를 다양화하고 항행안전에 도움이 되는 유익한 기상정보를 추가하는 방안을 제시한다.

The importance of fax imagerestoration is constantly increasing with the widespreasd use of facsimile machines in almost every sector of modern society. Recently, Handley and Doutherty proposed a morphological method for restoration of fax images, Their method removed effectively the only salient noise in the fax images. However, it could not remove the white and pepper noise that can appear in fax images since they treated fax images as deterministic sequences rather than random fields. Furthermore, this approach suffers from computational burden since it does not use recursive restoration technique. To cope with those difficulties, in this paper, we propose a new restoration scheme for restoring fax images using Kalman fitering which provides and efficient recursive processor. The proposed restoration method is based on the wide-sense Markov random fields (WSM).In order to verify the performance of the proposed restoration method, several experiments with the CCITT Group 3 fax machine were conducted with the generated document .Experimental results revealed that our proposed restoration method was shown to be superior to Handley et.al's method for restoring fax images.

Even though the Internet applications such as e-mail and FTP are widely used, fax is still an important media for data communications till today. Many researches on security over the Internet data communication have been done over the years, on the other hand not many researches have been dedicated to the fax security issue which is as important as the Internet. In this paper, we describe the development of hardware and software of the embedded security fax server which increases the security in supporting existing fax. The developed system is designed and implemented to maintain security while minimizing the delay due to encryptionㆍdecryption. Since there's international or domestic tryptographic standard and each nation have their policy to restrict the use of cryptographic system, we adopt domestic standard cryptographic protocol admitted in Korea. And the system supports two modes： Security mode and Non-Security mode that user can choose from. The system can be applied directly which is the requirements of users at company ,End the government. We verify the performance and functioning of the system in various real environment.

본 논문에서는 보다 효율적인 전송과 깨끗한 화질로 복원 문서를 구성 할 수 있도록 신경회로망을 이용한 Neuro-FAX 방식을 제안하였다. 이 방식은 문자부분과 도형부분을 따로 처리하는 것으로 문자 부분에 대해서는 각 문자에 신경회로망을 적용시켜 문자를 인식한 후 인식된 정보만을 전송하고, 도형 부분은 기존의 방식으로 그대로 전송하는 방식으로 전송 효율도 높이고, 짧은 전송기간으로 인하여, 전송신로의 혼잡을 줄일 수 있고, 수신측에서 각 문자 패턴을 가지고 있게 하여 복원된 문서를 기존의 팩시밀리 문서보다 깨끗하게 처리하여 고화질을 얻을 수 있도록 하였다.

현재 육상과 해상간의 통신은 Inmarsat 단말기를 이용하여 전화, 텔렉스, 팩스, 전자메일(E-mail) 및 데이터 통신을 한다. 기존 전자메일 프로그램은 비싼 통신요금과 저속의 위성통신 환경에서 최대한 통신비용을 줄이기 위한 목적으로 개발되었다. 그리고 팩스를 이용하는 경우는, 관련문서를 출력 후 송신하기 때문에 출력시간과 비용 면에서 단점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 육상과 해상간의 전자메일 시스템과 팩스 기능을 통합한 육상과 해상을 모두 지원하는 인터넷 기반의 팩스 서비스 시스템에 관한 연구이다. 이를 위하여 기존 전자메일 시스템과 공중전화망(PSTN : Public Switched Telephone Network)을 연결하는 하드웨어적인 모듈을 설계하였다.

This paper is addressed to Internet telephony based service implementation. It describes an implementation method which uses ARS as a gateway which combines Internet and traditional public switched telephone network for Internet information service using telephony and fax, is different to traditional Internet telephony which provide enhanced speech quality and low cost functionality. This method allows telephony and/or fax user to get Internet information without additional Internet bill, Internet infrastructure and low connection quality from low signal bandwidth connected him. Implemented system is useful to a special kind information service such as climate information of Korea etc and simpler than WAP based service as for wireless mobile telephony user. We implement job opportunity information and advertisement service supported by Home page of Choong Book Small & Medium Business Administration and e-mail service supported by Korean Society for Rehabilitation of persons with Disabilities to demonstrate the system ability. As a result of test implementation, this service system works good fur blind persons and graduated persons without job, is expected to apply for special Internet information provider via Voice and Fax.

Telecommunication services are distinctive in that their adoptions are influenced by network effect resulting in 'the late take-off phenomenon' and the 'critical mass' problem. In this paper we examined, so called, 'the late take-off phenomenon' in the diffusion process of telecommunication services. We compared the parameters of the diffusion process of consumer durables with those of fax services in the US and Korea. By analyzing the parameters of a new diffusion model based on the threshold model proposed by Markus, we found that 'the late take-off phenomenon' resulted from the low heterogeneity of the threshold distribution for the potential adopters. A simulation approach was proposed for the theoretical implication of the 'critical mass' problem in the start-up telecommunications services.

선박의 안전한 항해를 위해서 필수 장비 중 하나가 기상 팩스 장비이다. 즉, 연안국에서 FSK 방식으로 변조된 무선 주파수를 이용해서 전송하는 기상도를 선박에서 수신하여 이미지화 하는 장비이다. 연안국에서는 기상도를 스캔 한 후에 중심 주파수 1900Hz, 흑점 1500Hz, 백점 2300Hz 신호로 FSK 변조하여 방송하면 선박에서 이 신호를 수신한다. 따라서 현재는 선박이 기상 팩스 신호를 수신하기 위해서는 기상 팩스 장비가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 선박에 일반적으로 설치되어 있는 IBM-PC를 이용하여 소프트웨어적으로 기존의 기상 팩스 장비가 가지고 있는 모든 기능을 구현한다. 이를 위하여, 기상도의 출력, 편집, 저장 기능 추가로 설계 및 구현하였다. IBM-PC에서는 RS-232C 포트를 통해 수신된 신호를 타임 인터럽트(timer interrupt)와 시리얼 인터럽트(serial interrupt)를 이용하여 이미지화 하고 주파수를 선택한다. 또한 간단한 하드웨어적인 신호 분리(signal isolation) 모듈을 사용함으로써 기상도의 수신 및 상태를 개선한다. 본 논문은 별도의 기상 팩스 장비를 구입할 필요가 없는 경제적인 연안 항해용 기상 팩스 시스템이다.

금융, 증권, 화재 보험사, 뱅킹시스템 등의 대고객 응대 서비스는 대부분, 인터넷, DM, SMS, IVR, E-Mail, FAX 등을 통해서 서비스하고 있다. 고객은 다양한 접점을 통해 서비스를 제공받을 수 있다. 기업의 입장에서는 호스트 트랜잭션, 혹은 DB 프로세싱에 대하여, 투명성 있게 서비스를 제공해야한다. 본 논문에서는 화재보험, 금융, 증권, 캐피탈, 은행권에서 이용될 수 있는 서버들에 대해 논하고, 고객에게 투명성을 제공하기 위한 서버의 실시간 모니터링 시스템을 제안하고 설계 구현하였다. 제안된 모델은 대고객 응대 시스템에서 효율적으로 이용될 수 있다.
