In this Paper, we propose a downlink service admission strategy that considers users QoS requirements by using a novel service quality prediction index for multi-service WCDMA mobile systems. The Proposed downlink service admission strategy is obtained by computing average received Power of each service, assuming a relative other-cell interference factor. With the proposed method we obtain a downlink service admission region where users of different services properly can be admitted. And adding the fairness at the proposed downiinh service admission strategy, we Propose another downlink service admission strategy. In the numerical examples, the downlink service admission region with fairness and the downlink service admission region without fairness of voice service and data services are obtained by proposed downlink service admission strategies, respectively.

In case of one of the next generation mobile telecommunication; WCDMA service, the relevant market growth is delayed by market uncertainty, lack of effective demands, rapid evolution of technology, non-existence of business strategy, lack of distinction with competitive services and killer applications. In this study we intended to analyze the influence factors of market diffusion and marketing strategy of WCDMA. For doing so, we obtained both promotion and hindrance factors for diffusing the market of WCDMA through expert survey. Also we acquired such categories as factor for adoption, willingness to pay, killer application, preferred terminal and pronising customer, which becomes the reason ifluencing on the decision of WCDMA service marketing strategy. On the basis of such results, this paper suggests the direction of deployment for marketing focusing on the strategies as customer, price, sewice, terminal provision, and positioning of WCDMA.

Video telephony is a representative service in 3G mobile network. And there have been efforts to improve quality of video telephony service in different fields. In Korea, the leading mobile service provider SKTelecom and KTF service the WCDMA network as 3G mobile network. Now, more than a million people is using the network. In this paper, we study about video telephony over WCDMA network. and propose error minimizing algorithm using cross-layer adaptation between physical layer and video codec. We simulated 3G-324M protocol with MPEG-4 video codec, and simulation results show suggested algorithm improve packet transmission rate for improving quality of video telephony service.

Todays, telecommunications companies tried to transform CDMA users into 3G service, WCDMA users. However, the WCDMA market growth is postponed by the lack of difference between CDMA and WCDMA service, customer's switching barriers such as loyalty program and handset, etc. Therefore, in this study, we tried to identify the relationship between the customer's satisfaction to the WCDMA services and the intention to uses using the WCDMA users' data. Additionally, we set the customer's attitude of technology adoption as a moderating variable between the customer's satisfaction to the WCDMA services and the intention to use. We expect that our results will be useful in planning the strategies of WCDMA service.

The demand of domestic mobile service has been explosively increasing. The forthcoming WCDMA, which open in 2006, is also a key technology in the mobile service market. The WCDMA service needs HSPDA phones which will be evolved to HSDPA. In the aspect of drawing up management strategy, practical researches about forecasting the demands of new mobile phones are necessary. In this paper, we provide the modified the Lotka-volterra model as a forecasting model, which is concerned with effects of phone prices and performance.

In this paper, I develop a simple dynamic resource allocation algorithm that reduces the call blocking rate by improving the resource utilization of the WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) systems under multimedia service environment. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm significantly reduces the blocking rate of high speed multimedia calls. The algorithm developed in this paper is currently working in the commercial WCDMA IMT-2000 system.

In this paper, WCDMA indoor repeater antenna using an absorber based on metamaterial structure for high isolation is proposed. The proposed antenna consist of the main patch with the absorber based on metamaterial structure and parasitic patch. The WCDMA bandwidth is obtained by utilizing the coupling between the main and parasitic patches. The size of the absorber based on metamaterial structure is $13mm{\times}13mm$, the absorption is about 94 % at 2.18 GHz. The isolation characteristic of proposed WCDMA indoor repeater antenna between the service and donor antennas is improved by using a absorber based on metamaterial. The proposed WCDMA indoor repeater antenna has a gain higher than 6 dBi with a VSWR less than 2, and an isolation between the service and donor antennas greater than 85 dB over the WCDMA band from 1.92 GHz to 2.17 GHz. And size of the proposed antenna is $75mm{\times}75mm$.

In this paper, a wireless engineering field tool based on WCDMA is designed and implemented. Emerging requirements for higher rate data service and better spectrum efficiency are identified for the third generation mobile radio systems. The proposed WCDMA field tool is used for improving the quality of WCDMA service. The current position and time are measured and recorded with CDMA field data. With the system a user can observe the spatial distribution of the field data. For providing concurrency, the system is decomposed of four units and each unit is implemented by using threads.

Last year UMTS (UMTS: Universal Mobile Telecommunication System) 3G service started and these days 3 its service subscribers sharply increased. Now totally we have been increasing 13 million subscribers, every month 0.8 million people join 3G Service. MSC (Mobile Switching Center) is most important equipment in 3G system, so we call it 'core' network. Higher capacity MSC required to accommodating 1 million subscribers. It is very important whether MSC can accommodate maximum subscriber or not. So systematic analysis, reliable test results are required. This article presents WCDMA MSC performance evaluation case. This would be some direction for designing and developing some communication equipment. This Case Study demonstrates our MSC system performance.

Users using mobile terminal want to receive seamless service anywhere, anytime. In order to satisfy user's needs a communication between heterogeneous networks has to provide seamless service. Now a commercialized IMT-2000 is used with both WCDMA and CDMA together. Because asynchronous WCDMA and synchronous CDMA use different technology in their interface and traffic management, communication between the two networks can become disconnected. IP a mobile terminal swerves from the handoff area before handoff completion, packet loss and service disconnection will happened. In this paper, we propose a handoff scheme to provide seamless service, when mobile terminal moves from the WCDMA to the CDMA. And we prove that the proposed handoff scheme provide seamless service.
