  • Although some degree of mechanical properties of suede fabrics mainly related to non-woven suede fabric has some researched, the thin suede fabric has rarely been researched. In this study, polyester(DTY 50/72) was used for warp, and after producing latent yarn and sea-island yarn for weft, two yarns were compounded to produce sea-island DTY yarn. By using the two produced yarns for warp and weft, we produced thin suede fabric with stretch function. For weft 2ply, weft density 85, 90, 100(picks/in) were applied to weave fabric, and for weft 1ply, weft density 125, 135, 140(picks/in) were applied to produce weft face 5-end satin weave. The mechanical properties of the produced fabric were researched. The result are as followed. The weight loss ratio of the suede fabric produced for this experiment reached 15% on the conditions of temperature $90^{\circ}C$ and 20 minutes, so that island parts were completely separated. The strength of weft 1ply applied suede fabric was about 7.5kg and that of 2ply suede fabric and about 3.5kg. But the strain of two samples ranged from about 40 to 43%. Although Hari was high when weft was denser. The values of Koshi and Kisimi were low. And shear stiffness was high when sea-island DTY yarn was used. The WC value was higher in the case of 2ply than in that of 1ply sea-island DTY yarn for weft, so that we may conclude that Fukurami was more affected in the 2ply case.

  • The utilization of the fabric materials for lightweight building structures has attracted considerable attention due to the multiple functions and high strength-to-weight ratio. The mechanical properties of the fabric materials evolve with the loading cycle, especially for the Poisson's ratio that requires the full cyclic strain to determine the accurate values. The digital image correlation method has been justified but needs to meet the flexibility and complexity requirements of the fabric materials. This paper thus proposes a modified digital image correlation method to quantify the Poisson's ratio of fabric materials. To obtain the accurate Poisson's ratio of fabric materials in the cyclic experiments using non-contact measuring method, a speckle generation of the digital image correlation method is implemented to obtain the strain distribution and strain characteristics. The uniaxial cyclic experiments for the fabric materials are carried out in the warp, weft and 45° directions. The digital image correlation photos are taken when the material properties become stable in the cyclic loading. The results show that the strain distributions are non-uniform and dependent on the specimen directions. The reliable Poisson's ratios of the fabric materials in the warp, weft and 45° directions are 0.016, 1.2 and 2.6. The strain asymmetry at the maximum strain position is related with the weaving architecture. These observations and results are indispensable to understand the Poisson's ratios of fabric materials and to guide the proper analysis of the large-span membrane structures.

  • We selected four kinds of cotton velvet and chafed before and after cleaning, then in accordance with abrasion times we measured of pile exclusion rate and examined the relationship of the pile exclusion rate, its thickness and the air permeability. An experimental study was carried out the pile weave construction, the density, the yarn to yarn, the shrinkage, and the pile substantiality. The results were as follows: 1. In accordance with increments of shrinkage phenomenon of pile fabric for cleaning process, pile exclusion rate was decreased. 2. The ground weave of pile fabric and the yarn to yarn of warp and weft direction were affected by the pile exclusion. 3. It is linear of pile substantiality of pile fabric and pile fastness. 4. In estimation of pile exclusion rate, it is proper to make use of air permeability and measuring value of thickness.

  • A fineness range of 150 Nm-170 Nm has recently been applied to produce much finer wool products, so that processing techniques for the wool fabrics have been developed very rapidly. However, the worsted wool-like technique using polyester fiber has not been still implemented in general processing technique. Therefore, this research is to develop materials of side-by-side type with high finess, high shrinkage and stretchability. The mechanical properties of the produced fabrics were analyzed and the fundamental information were obtained for the new worsted wool-like products. The physical properties of a latent crimped yarns of side-by-side type with stretch function are analyzed. Also the mechanical properties of five kinds of fabrics are analyzed, which are produced with non-circular shape(+type) warp yarns of a twist of 1000(T/M) and with two kinds of latent weft yarns of a twist of 1000 T/M and DTY respectively.

  • While graphics processing units (GPUs) can be used to improve the performance of real-time embedded applications that require high throughput, it is challenging to estimate the worst-case execution time (WCET) of GPU programs, because modern GPUs are designed for improving the average-case performance rather than time predictability. In this paper, a reordering framework is proposed to regulate the access to the GPU data cache, which helps to improve the accuracy of the estimation of GPU L1 data cache miss rate with low performance overhead. Also, with the improved cache miss rate estimation, tighter WCET estimations can be achieved for GPU programs.

  • For the damage tolerance improvement of conventional laminated composites, stitching process have been utilized for providing through-thickness reinforcements. 2D preforms were stacked with S-2 glass plain weave and S-2 glass MWK (Multi-axial Warp Knit) L type. 3D preforms were fabricated using the stitching process. All composite samples were fabricated by RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) process. To examine the damage resistance performance the low speed drop weight impact test has been carried out. For the assessment of damage after the impact loading, specimens were examined by scanning image. CAI (Compressive After Impact) tests were also conducted to evaluate residual compressive strength. Compared with 2D composites, the damage area of 3D composites was reduced by 20-30% and the CAI strength showed 5-10% improvement.
